From Human Events comes this commentary on what GWB said last night in regards to the southern border. Some excerpts:

The bottom line on President Bush's televised address on immigration Monday evening is this: For all of its five parts for achieving "comprehensive immigration reform," there wasn't enough lipstick -- nor mascara, rouge, blush or other cosmetics -- to disguise that Mr. Bush was selling an amnesty pig.

Most offensive was his implication that Americans aren't enough of a welcoming people if they reject the Bush-McCain-Hagel mass amnesty. The United States has the most generous -- overly generous, in fact -- immigration policy in the world. Mr. Bush stooped to the low tactic of implying our great generosity isn't generous enough.

It's hard to take seriously an administration that has consistently undermined real immigration enforcement:

--The Bush administration shut down the very effective NSEERS alien registration program, which deported 1,500 illegal Pakistani residents but sparked the self-deportation of 15,000.

--It chopped off interior Border Patrol sting operations where a handful of officers caught some 400 illegal aliens in short order.

--It put the highly effective Native American "Shadow Wolves" out of business.

--It virtually stopped employer sanctions enforcement -- citing just three companies in 2004 for hiring illegal aliens.

--It radically pared back the sending of

how do you feel about the Bush proposal? Is the opinion of the article your opinion as well, or do you fall in the place where I do that while it is not great, at least it is progress? I was sent back to California as soon as I got home and have had a limited amount of time to spend here at Worthy Boards the last couple of weeks.

Have a safe trip, my friend! As far as the Bush proposal, I think I stated elsewhere that I feel his heart is not in it. Unless there are parts of this operation we don't know about, I fail to see what good 6,000 National Guard troops will do, after all that is adding yet another layer of beaurocracy to deal with. I am convinced that politicians (with the exception of local politicians in border towns who know better) will do nothing meaningful about this issue. The Republicans are courting the Hispanic vote and they think, incorrectly I believe, that granting amnesty (Tony Snow and I dont see eye to eye on this) to those who have been in the country for years illegally will deliver that coveted vote. The Democrats are also eyeing the Hispanic vote thinking (correctly I believe) that granting amnesty to a large group of law breakers (right up the Democrat's alley) will get many of them sucking off the national nipple (Medicaid, education, etc.), thus delivering that vote to them. Meanwhile, those same politicians are turning a deaf ear to the 70% + of voters in each party who think the way we do. Those politicians strain at gnats while a bulldog is ready to bite their collective butts. Their are two groups of Americans: the group that sits at home watching Survivor reruns and has no clue what's going on, and the group that is frustrated with our elected officials, abide by the law and are very patient. I think our patience is wearing thin and if this situation, compounded by an unpopular war and high prices at the pump--and a media that is hostile toward conservatives and Christians--doesn't change soon, the political landscape will change. I think the Minute Men movement is a response to a deaf, impotent government, and I predict more such movements will arise in the near future.

(sarcasm here) After all folks do we not live in the melting pot?

Am I against people moving to the US..absolutely not. But things are getting out of hand with this. There are millions of Americans who are unable to get housing, jobs and even assistance within the Welfare Program. But the illegals are allowed to move in use housing, Welfare and get jobs because they are willing to work for nothing. I see something really wrong with this system and I see it becoming an even bigger problem in the future. If illegals are living here and have a TV or can read the paper they see that our government is inviting them to come to the US, so does it not make sense that even more are going to come and try to live the American dream?

Our country is in trouble because of our debt and inability to take care of the homeless and hungry, among many other reasons.

George Bush and friends are clearly not using their "intelligent?" minds here.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
