Attended a sermon focusing on the word "snare" several years ago. Got me thinking about the Greek meaning of that word and some of the possibilities, oil being one of them I guess..

The Son of God Jesus Christ tells us in Luke 21 what to look for before The Second Coming.

The word "snare" used in the KJV-the Strong's Concordance definition includes the meaning "trap", same word that Condoleezza Rice used. Like we/USA/global economy are caught in the mideast oil "trap". Sort of like the dinosaurs got caught in the La Brea tar pit, in a sense.

Since The Holy Spirit got me thinking about this again, found these 2 "trap" related things in "Adbusters" :

A little background on me should help. I grew up in the country and my father trapped muskrats. We had mouse and rat traps in our house and cellar with variety of baits.

Learned the term "playing possum"-pretending to be dead to draw your enemy in {we "won" the cold war-USSR lost, right?}.

My sense is that we - world - MAY be already in the "snare"/"trap". Lots of possibilities, I believe. What do you worthyboard saints think?

Well, there is a lot going on not only with our country but also many others that tell me that we are ALL trapped and the trap is getting tighter.

We all need to pray that we as individuals do not fall prey to these traps and that we are given discernment when we see and hear things regarding our government and others.

The trap is going to happen it is inevitable but we have the tools to stay out of them. It's called the Bible.....

I believe you are on base with what you are seeing and I am in agreement with you.
