I havn't posted here in about a year, but I do read the wealth of infomation, and check the worthy news daily. I feel that I am constantly lead to study the Masonic Lodge, I think about them every day. Most of the men, or 'father figures' in my life are Masons, as a boy, and even more recently I would try to ask questions, only to get that 'Mason's all knowing smile.' Recent tragedy in my life, with the loss of my 18 y/o brother has everyone in my family questioning a lot about life. Being a baptised believer, I got the opportunity to baptise my mom and dad, and watch them go to church, along with my grandparents for the first time, and they continue to go. During the time after a death, where people gather at your house for days, even weeks on end, bringing food and hugs, a friend of mine was there every day he had off from work. He is a Christian as well, and played a big role in my salvation, he is very well versed in the Bible, and has a good sized library of theology and cult studies books. We are 23 yrs old, he speaks at his church every other sunday evening.

Point of all this is to set up the question, my friend (Jon) was there for me and my family, we prayed and what not. One of these days, my grandpa, a Mason was involved in a somewhat religious conversation, to which ended with him walking away claiming that John the baptist was a Mason, which I think is crap, quite frankly. My questions are these so far, how do the elder of the 'well versed' among us here deal with such confrontation? and also, in the end times it is said that the anti christ will attemp to unify the world under one religion, all of my studies have left me thinking that the masons with be all about this one religion teaching, due to their belief and practice of not wanting to offend any one mason, or anyone wanting to become a mason, they say you must believe in A god, and they refer to God as the Architect of the Universe, so as not to use words from the bible

thoughts????\

thanks

Crab3,

I would steer clear of the Masons. I cannot go into all of the evidence here but there is good reason to believe that that organization is satanic. St. John the Baptist was definitely not a Mason. Masonry originated with the stone mason guilds of Medieval Europe. During the "Enlightenment" and the French Revolution the Masons turned increasingly anti-Christian.

Hope this helps.

Tony

God has a plan for all of us. He calls us to many different things because He wants us to speak of Him in many environments.

Personally, my thoughts, I dont see a problem learning about the Masons, provided you are well grounded in your faith, continue to study Gods word and have a support goup of fellow Christians around you.

I definately would not get involved with the Masons in order to learn about them though.

I would be curious to hear where your grandfather got the notion that John the Baptist was a mason......some religious teaching? was it taught by the Masons?

Sorry, i should have clarified, i have no desire to join the masons, but i am coming to an age where the 'father figures' in my life are starting more conversations geared towards recruitment. i don't want to join, while i don't think it was their original intent to become 'satanic,' or to defy our christian teaching of salvation and Jesus Christ, i do believe that as the world goes on, they are becoming something of a cult. they teach their members that in order to get to the 'Grand Lodge Above,' all they have to do to be recieved by 'a god' on the 'other side,' is be a morally just and good man in this life, we all know thats crap, i hope.

i think my grand pa got the John the baptist was a mason due to the growing stories that have come about in the years past. Even if he was a mason, he sucked as a Mason, i think it would be an impossible task being Jesus's disciple, teaching the Gospel to the masses, yet promote the values and teachings of the lodge, its not possible.

again, my intent here was to see how others would handle such a conversation, or avoid, or even try to educate the 'good folks.'

thanks for the input so far.

again, my intent here was to see how others would handle such a conversation, or avoid, or even try to educate the 'good folks.'

If pulled into a coversation with a Mason, I would ask just a few simple questions and share a handful of Scriptures to make my point.

Why the secrecy? IF the Masons are a sound and worthy organization, why aren't they open to scrutiny? Why do they fear the LIGHT of oversight from outside the organization? Most often, things done in the dark are done so to avoid accountability.

My second question that I would ask is if they really know the meaning behind the various rituals they participate in, especially the real meaning behind the initiation rituals? Weird stuff much of it having pagan origins.

My concern with the Masonic Order, other than the obvious rejection of Jesus Christ as the ONLY Way to the Father, is as with any other organization rooted in secrecy and ritual. They really can't defend it on the basis of "tradition". Traditions with NO meaning are empty and have no purpose. The traditions of the Masons have purpose even if the members don't know what that is; it is only logical to assume the purpose is not good since it is clouded in secrecy.

Jesus never spoke or acted in "secret".

"I have spoken openly to the world," Jesus replied. "I always taught in synagogues or at the temple, where all the Jews come together. I said nothing in secret. John 18:20

The apostles never spoke or acted in "secret".

Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 2 Cor 4:1-3

Secrecy will get them no where but under condemnation.

But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
