...Coming from a non-believer of conventional faith, could you lot clear some things up for me? (And hopefully not become too offended, for I intend on poking at your brains. <3)

-Without referancing the bible, can you support your opinions on homosexuals/homosexual behavior?

I really don't mean to rock the boat here (I lied, I do actually), but I've met too many people who merely tell me that 'the bible says so'- and nothing else. I'm hoping some you can help me understand this, nonetheless valid, viewpoint.

Can you think of any time that two male or two female vertibrates produced offspring through sexual intercourse?

Then again, why should marriage be about solely producing children? Straight as I am, I don't want kids.

And...honestly....the world has enough children (not to mention people), so it's an impractical arguement by a bit....

((And...technically...some off brand species of fish all start out female, and when the need for reproduction arises, turn male...so technically...it's just a female avec sperm....then again, that might make it a transgendered fish of sorts, wouldn't it? :emot-questioned:"))

Not sure if this was in response to me, but I'm going to answer anyway. Marriage is not about producing children only.

The world has enought children? Maybe only someone who doesn't want children would make such a statement. I haveknown plenty of people who cannot have children, that would love to have children.

Such predicaments homosexuals find themselves in, I'm sure. But for, again, the sake of practicality- the children arguement is not sitting well. I can understand in past times the need for marriage (and therefore kids)....but, largely the threat of extinction of the human race is gone.

More reasons for marriage? Love, mayhap?...My sole reason for marrying, if and when I do.

My answer to you was with regard to homosexual behavior. You asked, "Without referancing the bible, can you support your opinions on homosexuals/homosexual behavior?"

Yes, statistically suicide rates are higher amongst homosexuals as well as instances of sexually transmitted disease.

Depression is another factor. :noidea:

It is an abysmal existance to go against that for which you were created.

Peace,

Dave

Most High, I understand your point, so how about this? I will join you in supporting a Consititutional Amendment to make divorce illegal if you will join me in supporting a Constitutional Amendment banning gay marriage. I haven't heard anyone suggest that before, but it seems like a good idea. It would force people to think more seriously about what they are doing before rushing into a marriage if they knew it was really till death do us part.

:P

I think divorce is legitimate in certain cases, such as an abusive spouse, a cheating spouse, things of that nature. However, it's way too flippant in these days. "I just don't like him/her." Then go get some counseling, because you are the one that made the commitment. I would support laws that made it more difficult for divorce in a heart beat.

Neocons????

I don't think it boils down to that and now who is showing their prejudice?

Homphobia, naw I love them way too much to have that problem, so does God.

I don't like divorce anymore than you do. So we agree on something although I have the feeling that Homosexual Divorce would be allright with you. :noidea:

The reason we need a law for it's prevention is so that we do not dumb down deviancy. Take a look at what Homosexual Marriage has wrought in the Netherlands. Now the Pedophiles are demanding their rights. Why not? It's all relative. ;)

:noidea:

Peace,

Dave

Don't you conservatives repubs feel a little used on this issue? Don't you feel like you're being manipulated for political gain?

It's just politics as usual. Which party do you think Jesus would support? He saw very similar politics in His days on the earth as well. Only the names have changed. Jesus saw the struggle between two different parties, the Pharisees and the Sadducees.

He gave His support to neither, claiming that His kingdom was not of this world. And we too, need to decide if we are going to be conservative republicans, liberal democrats or born again Christians who are supposed to be representing Christ. Jesus separated Himself from this world and all of the lusts of the flesh. Aren't we supposed to do the same thing? Isn't that what being holy is all about?

I must admit that I used to put a republican label on myself, but no more. Politicians are only trying to buy your vote. They say whatever they think will make them the most popular. I'm not buying none of it anymore. I vote for the lesser of two evils now, but soon there is coming a day when Christians will no longer have a choice. And they will force all, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave to take the mark? Who are we to vote for then?

By the way, from what you said about Christians being forced to take the mark of the beast, do I take it you don't believe in a pre-tribulation rapture?

Hi Butero,

As you more than likely know, Christians can not take the mark, and if they do, they were not true Christians to begin with.

As for the pre-trib rapture, that's a good question. However, I'm out of time tonight, so if you don't mind I'd like a chance to answer that tomorrow. My stance on this issue has changed somewhat, so I will be glad to throw in my 2 cents, for whatever 2 cents is worth.

See you tomorrow then,

Lord willing :)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
