I never did like the dixie chicks..and it was not because they cannot sing..

I never liked their personalty ...especially the maines woman ...

and that was a long time before their politics kicked in.....

to me personally ,if you sing like and angel and act like the devil and I know it ,

you are not worth listening to....

wrong, katyann. they may have some sold out concerts, but they've cancelled numerous concerts and have had to revamp their entire tour schedule. many of the arenas they were scheduled in, in major metropolitan areas, arenas that seat between 10 and 20 thousand people, had ticket sales averaging 5,000. this has occurred in 20 different cities nationwide. you should check your sources. these figures are being reported throughout the music industry magazines, including billboard magazine, and have even made headline news in many newspapers. heck, i just ran a quick google search, and this isn't just making headline news in america, it's making international headlines as well.

the "ditzy twits" have lost their fanbase... country music fans. they have gained some appeal in other genres though, particularly among the ultra-liberal "hate bush" crowd, as is evidenced by the sales of their latest album, which is not only 'hate bush', it's 'hate fans, don't care what ya think, you can all kiss my rosy red cheeks.' they are having to reinvent themselves. they're totally shunned by the country music industry and fans. in fact, they were the laughing stock of the ACM awards show... and i don't even think they were there! but when reba mcintyre made a joke about them singing with their feet firmly planted in their mouths, the entire audience roared with laughter, the camera panning the faces of many of country music's leading artists, and not a single face shown wasn't laughing.

has anyone hear ever listened to the words of their new release? it was a TOTAL slap in the face to all who USED to be fans of them.

they disgust me. i may have been able to brush off their anti-bush slams a few years ago, but when they posed nude on a magazine cover that was available for every child to see because it wasn't wrapped in plastic with porn mags, that was the last straw for me. sure, they had their arms and legs positioned to strategically cover breasts and crotches, but they were still naked, on shelves in supermarkets and drug stores all around america. (and to top it off, they couldn't even be honest in their supposed "naked and unashamed" photograph.... natalie maines was obviously airbrushed to appear trim and toned.

and who knows, maybe i could have even forgiven THAT eventually... but when they first came out with that new release on the new album, i nearly quit watching CMT altogether for having insulted country music fans by airing the video.

I guess it depends on the source. My understanding was that they cancelled numerous dates and changed venues to smaller arenas. But they did sell out in Europe (by selling out America...hehe).

They're much, much more suited to Dictator-For-Life Generalissimo Castro's Habana "paradise" and its socialist anthems. I'm sure they'd LOVE to spend some time in Iraq encouraging the............Muslim mass homicide bombers, no? And how about "UltraLibDem Chiclets" for a much more appropriate monicker?
