Some reasons why the allah of islam isnt the God of the bible.

1) Christians believe that God is spirit.

John 4:24 God is a spirit, and they who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.

Islam says God isnt spirit.

2) Our Lord is transcendent and immanent.

While both Christians and muslims believe in the transcendence of God, muslims believe He does not interact at all with mankind. We believe God is intimately involved in our lives (immanence).

3) We believe God reveals Himself, not just His law.

Islam believes that allah's will is manifested, but not allah himself. Our Lord reveals Himself all throughout the bible.

4) The Trinity.

God is God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Islam proclaims allah has no son.

5) Our Lord loves us while we sinners.

For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son. While we were yet sinners, He reached out to us in love. Yet for muslims, allah loves no sinner.

6) Our Lord does not want anyone to perish.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not purposing that any of us should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Islam says allah desires to punish people.

7) How God regards the Jews.

The Jews are Gods people. The bible tells us this. Allah of islam hates the Jews.

8) Our Lord is unchanging.

Islam believes in the doctrine of abrogation, where allah can change his mind at whim. Our Lord is unchanging.

9) Forgiveness.

We are forgiven on the basis of the atoning work of Jesus. His sacrifice (and our acceptance of Jesus) means we are forgiven and reconciled with the Lord. In islam, forgiveness by allah is based on the whim of allah. You have no way of knowing if you are forgiven or not. The only reasonably sure thing is death by martyrdom.

Allah of islam is NOT the God of Abraham, not the Lord we believe in. Islam is not an offshoot of Christianity. It is a perversion of worship of the true Lord. (Mormons do not worship the same Lord either. They have changed whom He is.)

Another thing some else showed me this about one reason the Catholic church think Islam has the same God.

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church:

The Church and non-Christians (CCC)

841 The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."330

842 The Church's bond with non-Christian religions is in the first place the common origin and end of the human race:

All nations form but one community. This is so because all stem from the one stock which God created to people the entire earth, and also because all share a common destiny, namely God. His providence, evident goodness, and saving designs extend to all against the day when the elect are gathered together in the holy city. . .331

843 The Catholic Church recognizes in other religions that search, among shadows and images, for the God who is unknown yet near since he gives life and breath and all things and wants all men to be saved. Thus, the Church considers all goodness and truth found in these religions as "a preparation for the Gospel and given by him who enlightens all men that they may at length have life."332

844 In their religious behavior, however, men also display the limits and errors that disfigure the image of God in them:

Very often, deceived by the Evil One, men have become vain in their reasonings, and have exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and served the creature rather than the Creator. Or else, living and dying in this world without God, they are exposed to ultimate despair.333

It tells me both the Muslims and the Catholics worship a distorted, perverse version of the One True G-d.

Here are some more reasons why the Muslim god cannot be the G-d of the Bible:

1. Only one is called Yahweh. Exodus 3:14, 15:

God said to Moses, "I am who I am . This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you. 'God also said to Moses, "Say to the Israelites, 'The LORD, the God of your fathers-the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob-has sent me to you.' This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.

Islam's god is not named Yahweh; his personal name is Allah. Notice what the Institute of Islamic Information and Education says:

Allah is the personal name of the one true God; nothing else can be called Allah.

This is accepted Islamic doctrine; that God's personal name is not Yahweh, but Allah. What is particularly interesting is that the word allah in the Arabic has the same basic root as a Hebrew word that shows up numerous times in the OT, elohim. Allah and elo are exactly the same root for Hebrew and Arabic are both Semitic languages. So, since Allah and Elohim both come from the same root word, it is true that Allah has a corresponding word in the Hebrew OT, and Elohim is translated as "God," it is never translated Yahweh, God's personal name. Elohim, God, is a title for the one true God, Yahweh, it is not His name. So, if Islam's god is named Allah, and that is his personal name, and if Yahweh is the personal name of the God of the Bible, they cannot be the same god simply because it is two completely different words.

2. Only Yahweh is absolutely just. Notice Isaiah 53:5, 6:

But he was pierced for our transgressions,

he was crushed for our iniquities;

the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,

and by his wounds we are healed.

We all, like sheep, have gone astray,

each of us has turned to his own way;

and the LORD has laid on him

the iniquity of us all.

Contrast that with Allah. In the Koran, Allah forgives the sins of whomever he pleases, according to Sura 2:284. There is no blood atonement that allows him to forgive. In other words, the world in which Allah lives compassion and mercy can trump justice. Therefore he cannot be absolutely just because his standard for forgiveness is not absolute. In fact Allah has to be capricious in granting his mercy, because he grants it whenever and to whomever he pleases. From the Koran, Sura 21:47:

And we [Allah] will set up a just balance on the day of resurrection so no soul shall be dealt with unjustly in the least. And though there be of a grain of a mustard seed, yet will be bring it and sufficient are we to take account.

In other words, Allah is setting up a scale or a balance to weigh the good deeds and the bad deeds. If your bad outweighs your good, you're finished in Allah's world. We call that "works righteousness."

In the Koran, Sura 7:7-9:

The measuring out on that day shall be just, then for him whose measure of good deeds shall be heavy, he shall be successful. And as for him whose measure of good deeds is light, those are they who have made their souls lost, for they disbelieve in our communications.

Allah has scales and balances and he allows those scales to determine who enters into eternal life and who enters into eternal judgment. There is no substitutionary blood atonement under girding his system of justice. Allah is not absolutely just.

4. Yahweh is personally knowable to His people

Jeremiah 31:34, in reference to the New Covenant:

No longer will a man teach his neighbor,

or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,'

because they will all know me,

from the least of them to the greatest,"

Salvation is not just going to heaven, but it is knowing God and falling love with Jesus in this life. To say God is knowable is not to say God is comprehensible. God is incomprehensible for the finite mind. You may know your spouse, but you will never fully comprehend them; that is one of the joys of marriage-getting to KNOW your spouse on a deep, intimate level. It is the same with your relationship with God.

God is knowable; He wants us to get to know Him, and in the New Covenant of Jeremiah 31, He makes it possible through a spiritual birth for His people to know Him.

Allah, on the other hand, is beyond knowing. A tenant of Muslim theology is that Allah is not knowable by the mortal mind. You can know some things about Allah, in fact Muslim theologians have compiled a list of 99 attributes of Allah that his followers can know, but they never say you can know Allah in a personal way like we can know Yahweh. There is no indication in the Koran that Allah can be known personally or even that he is seeking a personal relationship with his people. Yet that is the whole story of the Bible: Yahweh seeking man, to restore the relationship damaged by sin.

5. Yahweh is the essence of love in His nature

Deuteronomy 6:5 commands us to Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. Jesus told us that is the greatest commandment of all. Love is the very heart and soul of Yahweh; He not only wants a relationship with His people, He wants an intimate love relationship with them. God does not simply want us to respect and revere Him, He wants us to love Him. This is why Jesus, and even some of the prophets, referred to Him as "Father." That is the kind of relationship God wants with His people.

Note also John 3:16 and 1 John: God is Love. He loves, not only His people, but He loves the sinner as well.

But, Allah loves only those who are his and who obey him. Nowhere in the Koran does it command his people to love him. Is it possible that Allah is not interested in a love relationship with his people? Time and time again in the pages of the Koran it is written: obey Allah and his prophet, but the word love is nowhere to be found in relationship of Allah's people to himself. The word "love" in fact, is mentioned very few times in the Koran, but we are told that "Allah loves the obedient" and "Allah loves the righteous." It never says that Allah loves the sinner.

6. Yahweh has chosen Jerusalem as the place where He has placed his name

2 Chronicles 33:7:

In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name forever.

Yahweh has chosen Jerusalem as His holy city. He is identified with Jerusalem more than any other city on earth, and He has put His temple there forever. No wonder God's enemies are so interested in Jerusalem! There is no question in the Hebrew Bible or the New Testament that Yahweh is interested in Jerusalem.

But, Allah in the Koran has ignored Jerusalem; he has not placed his name there. According to Joseph Farrah, an American of Arab descent and the man who started WorldNet Daily, says this:

The Koran says nothing about Jerusalem. It is not even mentioned in the Koran. In fact throughout most of Islamic history, Jerusalem was viewed as a "backwater" town, of little or no value to Muslims. Until the Jews returned to it.

Islam's obsession with Jerusalem in modern times is a political thing, not a spiritual thing. But the reality cannot be denied: Allah was never interested in Jersualem.

How can Yahweh and Allah be the same God, when one is interested in Jerusalem and one is not?

Still a much better reason to reject outright the Muslim-Arabian Peninsula's pagan moon-god called "allah" is JUST THAT: "allah" is precisely the moon-god of pre-Muslim days, long before Muhammad ever saw the light of day!! Within the ka'aba, in pre-Muslim days, were several idols representing various pagan gods. One was called "allah," three others were "allah's" daughters, al-uzza, al-lat and al-manat. One can easily judge the antiquity of this Arab pagan pantheon from the very mention of al-il-lat (al-lat) by Herodotus (fifth-century B.C. Greek historian) as a major Arabian deity. The Quraish paved the way for monotheism by worshipping the pagan "allah" as their chief god. Islam's polygamous WarLord founder, Muhammad, simply eliminated the other 300-some deities and underscored "allah" as chief god. Muhammad quite evidently never listened to, or chose to reject the One True Creator-God, Jehovah-Jirah, the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob, Who has warned us, "Thou shalt have no other gods besides Me!" The god of Islam, "allah" surely calls upon one's reserves of pure imagination and a carnival's curved mirror show. It practically screams mini-series, no?

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your everlasting salvation!

One reason many people think Christians and Muslims have the same God is due to people admiring and puting too much credence in personalities at the expense of clearly taught doctrinal principles in the bible.

Why does so many Catholics teach and think Islam has the same God , and they even say if Islam doesn't have the same God all non Catholic have another god because we are not part of the mother church .

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church:

have talked and interview many Catholics and other believers, and I am shocked to here tha they think Muslim have the same God as the Christians

I have also talked with Muslim who think the same thing as Catholics.

Can someone here explain how they taught to believe this??

Thank you

Shalom

Probably because they do. Islam is an off shoot of Christianity and Judaism much in the same way that Mormonism is. Both founded by a self-proclaimed reforming prophet.

But even the mormon have another Jesus who is satan brother.

Alone muslims is a pagan religion with it own made up prophets, koran, and god.

They are not mention no where in the bible pass present or future.

So we christians need to see that the religion is formed and led by satan himself the anti Christ.

Even as A Jew today who doesn't accept the death burial , and resurrection of Jesus is damned alreay.

Mark 16:16

Actually, having looked more at Mormonism (which seems to have polytheistic tendencies) the truth is that Islam is much more mainstream. As to your quote from Mark, it emphasises the similarity in the Orthodox Jewish and Muslim idea of God, and their difference from Christianity. Islam borrows from and rewrites adapts and modifies Jewish scriptures and indeed traditions rather than presenting us with something terribly new different.
