Ok, it's my understanding that if you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, and understand that he gave up his life for us, then you are going to heaven. Because recently I was told that if you're committing a sin (like fornication or lying, for example) and the rapture occurs, you will not go to heaven. Is there any truth to this? I'm so confused!

There is no truth to what you have been told. Once saved; always saved. EOD!

once saved, you can still choose to reject the gift of salvation. obviously i'm not a subscriber to the OSAS doctrine. BUT, i agree with darski, there is no truth in that. we're all as filthy as rags in the eyes of God, no matter if we're sinning when the rapture occurs or not. those who miss the rapture are the ones who have abandoned their faith in God... those who have rejected the gift of eternal life, whether they rejected it from day one or whether they rejected it at some point after accepting it. this isn't something that happens by accident or without our awareness, because only we can become apostate by an act of our own choice.

I agree with LadyC, but I just wanted to add a little something elementary for the newbies out there... When we accept Christ into our hearts we are also commiting to a relationship, a personal one on one relationship with God. This relationship requires effort and responsibilities on our part inorder to grow and experience all the joy God's plan has for us. It also reminds me of the many sermons on being a 'lukewarm Christian'... When Christ comes back for His bride do we want to be found a cold non-participant; a lukewarm part-time participant or do we want to be found 'on fire' for Christ, an active participant in our relationship? This is something we must all ask ourselves. To grow closer to God we first must seek His will; through prayer; asking for forgiveness; reading His Word; fellowship with other Christians etc... This relationship takes effort but the rewards are glorious!

Hot, Cold or Lukewarm?

Wow!! That sure beats my plan! I figured on Judgment Day, I was just going to hide behind someone who had always been a 'good doobie' and when the gate to Heaven swung open for him, I WAS GOING TO RUN FOR IT!!!!

The question of course is can repentance be planned? Can I grab hold of sin, can I plan on sinning and enjoy it, relying on the knowledge that I am always saved and can repent later? Is this salvation, is this faith? If the rapture comes when I am in that state of mind, do I even have faith? If as a Christian I know that living with my girlfriend is sin is fornication but I refuse to repent and change, am I saved when Christ returns?

How about gay's who claim they are believers. Let us say the rapture comes and they are in a gay sexual relationship, even knowing it is wrong, they are relying on the grace of God to save them, they can repent later, are they saved at that point?

As Paul says, to whom we present ourselves to slaves to obey, we are slaves of that thing. If we present ourselves as slaves of sin what are we? Of course we will all sin right up to the point of the return of Christ, but the question is to whom do we belong?

once youre saved, you CAN NOT reject your salvation. it goes against everything the Bible teaches. there is no possible way to lose your salvation after you recieve it. the Bible says that no one can pluck you out of Gods hand, and that includes yourself.

2peter to start.

20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22Of them the proverbs are true: "A dog returns to its vomit,"[f]and, "A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud."

Do we need to continue?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
