Just to add some balance here. It is true that the practice of homosexuality is a sin. So is gluttony, pride, lieing, gossip and a host of other things. God will judge all sin. However, God loves all people. He loved them so much that He sent His only Son to die for those sins. God is reaching out to all sinners today with the invitation of forgiveness, restoration, and wholeness. That is the good news

The Bible is very clear on the gay subject, the problem is people twisting it all to make it not look so bad. I think churches and families are confused. Families are looking for reasons to believe that a loved one is in God's graces even though it is clearly not so.

Churches are caught up in the idea that we are to love everyone regardless of thier sin, but are forgetting that we have to be repentant of our sin to be part of the church. An unrepentant sinner only hurts the rest of the congregation. Homosexuality is penetrating the churches for acceptance of them as they are, there are some willing and looking to change thier ways but most are trying to prove a point.

I know of a young gay man who actually believes that he is going to teach the world not to judge by getting a partial sex change and becoming a gospel singer/preacher. No kidding. A complete blastphemy to God. It's a sick world when Christians think they have to accept and love this kind of thing that is not coming from God at all.

It is a sin to go along with any of the ideas that homosexual people are feeding us.

Our kids are confused, in school they are taught tolerance and then in sex ed they are taught to experiment. I'm not kidding. My daughter told me about her sex ed class. It was pretty enlightening.

We are being led astray in vast numbers, the road is getting wider all the time. Stay on the narrow one

Oh that we were all as disgusted by our own sin as easily as we are by the sins of others.

Very true! So very often we are our own worst enemy. I know I am! It is so much easier to see others blatant iniquity, yet not see or focus on our own. Because we are all sinners, when we condemn others, we are also condemning ourselves. Therefore I submit that I am no better than anyone else, just forgiven..

What you see on TV is not what the majority of these people are like.

What about adulterous straight couples? What about the lying and cheating on their wives by Christian men, including pastors in that group? What about men beating their wives?

Children born out of wedlock to people who don't even care about them? These second and third things are what is disgusting.

Marriage is good when done in love and faithful.

You may not know this, but many gay couples are more faithful than even Christians.

Before you condemn what you do not know, look at what you do.

It is not about what is okay or not okay based on us humans but what is ok or not ok in Gods eyes. The scriptures are clear, being gay is not okay, neither is a fornicator (heterosexual) etc etc. So which is worse, the homosexual or the heterosexual fornicator? The answer is that neither will inherit Gods Kingdom.

So, either we believe what is written in the bible or not. We either believe it is Gods word or we do not. Jeremiah 10 vs 23 explains: O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. (King James)

As to the comment, that many gay couples are more faithful than even Christians: That may be, but that doesn't make it right and I would ask, faithful to what? If they were faithful to Gods word, they would not be homosexual.

No, you aren't.

People have a hard heart. Paul said that in the last days they would not endure sound doctrine, but would turn away and seek teachers who tickle the ears with what they WANT to hear.

This is why we have hundreds of Bible versions which have been doctored to say whatever the author wants it to say, even to the point of omitting phrases from verses, or omitting the entire verse. This is why we now have the so-called "Gender equivalent" Bibles, which omitt anything suggesting that the man is the head of the woman, and replace it with gender neutral phrasiology.

Entire denominations, and I might add the majority of denominations, have completely forsaken basic Bible morality, if not on this issue, then on something else.

Homosexuality is an abomination, and everyone who practices it or promotes it is going to answer to God. It is a perversion of the natural body, and as well it is a perversion of the understanding of the nature of God's relationship with mankind, particularly the Church (the body of Christ, not the man-made organization).

To the so-called preachers who refuse to say anything against it, or practice it themselves, Jesus said that those who know better and do evil will be beaten with many stripes.

:) I agree with both Whysoblind and Nevin. I also see the point being made by EricH and the others who mention the need to be concerned with our own sins. The problem here is not just that people commit sodomy. The reason why some, including myself, find them to be more objectionable is not because other sins aren't potentially just as destructive. It is because they promote this sin as something desireable and good. They have marches where they claim to be proud of their sin. While I may do things that are sinful in God's sight, I take no pride in it. On the contrary, I am ashamed of myself. That is the case with most sinners, or Christians that commit a sin. but homosexuality is the exception for some reason. I think that was the point being made by Nevin. I don't believe it is meant to show self-righteousness. At least, I didn't take it that way.

I agree with the statements above.

For Him,

Tomi

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
