Christian Healing

Could you please help me in a project That I am working on regarding Christian Healing?

I wish to conduct a survey to see how many Christians have actually witnessed a "Bible Type" Healing. By Bible type healing

I mean one that follows the three principles of the healings by Jesus and the Apostles.

(1) They were Instanteaneous.

(2) They were Verifiable.

(3) They Lasted.

All your help in answering these three questions would be much appreciated and would be a great help in my project.

Not all Biblical healings were instantaneous. The healing of the man born blind; Jesus put mud in his eyes and told him to go and wash it off. The pool to which he was commanded to go to was on the other side of town and would have taken him a while to get there. Only after he washed the mud out of his eyes was his sight restored.

I have seen such a healing take place. The person had a recurring illness that the doctor said would plague her all her life and eventually lead to dialasis. She was called out of her seat by the preacher, who laid hands on her and prayed for her, and the problem never came back. I know of several people that have been delivered instantaneously of things like tobacco, where the desire to smoke was taken away instantaneously. I have also seen people delivered from demonic possession instantly through prayer.

There are many other people I have seen healed and delivered as well, but since you only wanted to know about ones I knew for a fact were lasting, that is all I am mentioning. I am only speaking of cases where the healing or deliverance has continued for a period of more than 15 years, and where I knew the people before and after the prayers were made.

As a Hasidic bred Heresy hunter... I've seen alot of "False" healings in honest people who were tricked by false prophets and evangelists. When you do follow-ups on some of these people "called out", you sometimes see that a few days after, they're back in their mode. When I questioned these "prophets" and "evangelists" they gave me a slick reply of "their faith didn't sustain the healing". Which is really just a false teaching. These were honest G-d fearing and faithful people who were manipulated by these wolves in sheeps clothing.

Psychology has proven that when a person is sufficiently convinced of something, the body kicks in to reply to that deep belief, such as people with twisted ankles "walking" up to the stage "manifesting healing". Sometimes when the people start hurting again and go get the ankle X-rayed, it's the same as it was before. So what can be said of such things?

Psychology also has proven that when people's bodies kick in to support the mental state of someone, it does wierd and miraculous things. Such as the story of the woman who RIPPED a car door off her burning car with a Child inside, or wound victims not feeling pain from some things, or zealots who appear to suffer no pain while performing tribal customs in which the flesh is mangled.

The body is very capable of performing superhuman feats, even averagely superhuman (if the concept can be allowed). Such as in the case of sports athletes who perform longer, better, stronger when mentally pumped up by the coach. The body can even ignore pain, or lessen pain by releasing chemicals into the blood stream... which I believe is the case for some of these "false miraculous healings".

But I do believe in miraculous healing, as I've seen tumors melt away, people with AIDS (documented extended treatment) walk out of a place without em... and even miscarried babies restored. (One time a lady had learned her baby was misscarried through her doctor and she came to the meeting and she hadn't had it removed, but then the baby started kicking inside when she prayed and was healed).

And I do believe it can be instantaneous (as shown above). And many times verifiable (through medical documentation). My mother has worked in hospitals for the last 20 years and has shown me many cases where miraculous things have happened. All through medical documentation.

My dauhgter was 9 years old when one nite at church she was called out anointed and

prayed for. I trusted the Lord that he would let her hear. Another nite in church some

one else stood and wanted the church to pray for her. Itrusted the lord that he would

let her hear.Than one nite at church I felt lead to ask the church to anoint and pray for

her.I thanked the Lord for what he would do.The next day she dropped her spoon on the

table and she started to bang on many things. She told me that she could hear. I had

tough her to read lips. She was happy with her new sound.She even heard me burning

trash,the popping sounds were not that loud. Her nerves were burnet out from a very

high fever when she was not a year old. Man did not give her any hearing There was

way. The Lord heald her when she was 9 and she is now 44. I know that the Lord has heald

many people. When my middle daughter was about 15 he heald her as she lay on the table

waiting her turn to be operated on.One minute she was in sever pain the next she was sitting up talking.She said she was fine.They made tests on her and did not know what to say.

There are so many things I could tell you.This I will say. Jesus is the same today as

he was yesterday.I love him so much,I could not live with out him.He is every thing to me.

full blown aids, verified many times as the lady goes in for follow up care.... unsaved at the time, contracted HIV through life style.......

took Christ as her savior, chose to serve Him..... concerned that her ailments will come against her if people in the congregation knew about it.... carefully choosing only a couple people, she entrusted them with her story.... people prayed for her, annointing her with oil, and welcoming her into the house of the Lord, in to our family.....

the next trip she made to the doc, she was clean, she not only did not have aids anylonger, it was not in remission, the HIV virus was not found either......

they did follow up testing, and the same thing......

she was not cured by the doctors, she gives the credit where the credit is due..... GOD HEALED HER....

she stood on the passage in James..... she called upon the elders of the church.... they annointed her.... they laid on hands.... they prayed..... her sins are forgiven, and she is healed...... just like that......

there are several people that are in our congregation that should not be there, from heart problems, cancer, and other ailments that were life threatening... but are dismissed by those that believe in God.

now.... on the same note.....

I have seen people reject what would have been their healing also..... one peticular, is a young lady that woke up with no use of her legs... this was several years ago.....

one day, a man listening to God, (he has been used several times for healing) was told to go to her, reach out his hand, offering it to her, and tell her to rise, that in the Name of Jesus, it is over, it is time to stand up... it is ok..... she turned to him and told him flat out.... just leave me alone........ go away...... he told her that it is ok, just stand up.... she shook her head...

the guy was devistated, that she would refuse to do as she was instructed.... he walked away bewildered...

and as he wwas walking away, he fell like a board, straight down, to the floor on his face..... he was there for almost a half hour....

when he came out, he knew that it had to be her choice... and that it was out of his hands..... he still does not understand this.... but then there are alot of things that we do not understand...

Surely James 5:14 says "is anyone sick among you, let them call for the elders of the church"

Not Priests.

The Greek word for Elder is Presbu/terov Translated Presbuteros.

Whilst the Greek word for priest is Hiereus or archiereus.
