Why should we listen to them?

Just what are their duties?

Did God give them authority?

What should be the attitude of the believers towards God's ministers?

My hope and prayer is tht this teaching will give us a better understanding of God's ministers and their duties..

Gracious Father , loving Saviour, i ask that you anoint our ears to hear and our hearts to receive this message from your word that we may then apply it to our lives in the way it be pleasing to you father God....i ask that you have your will and way daily in each of us Lord .

Father i ask that you bless strengthen and encourage each of my brethren in this forum and all accross this land father God. Create in us a clean heart and a right spirit father that we may be a people that walk unrightly before you and are pleasing in your sight.

that we be a people who desire to obey you and your word father God .

have your will and wayin us all father God for its in Christ precious name i do ask it all amen and amen

Did the Lord give His Ministers authority?

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

Tts 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Tts 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Tts 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Tts 2:15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee

Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

Tts 3:2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, [but] gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

Tts 3:3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, [and] hating one another.

Tts 3:4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

Tts 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Tts 3:6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

Tts 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Tts 3:8 [This is] a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Tts 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain

Why does the body of Christ need Ministers?

Hbr 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that [is] unprofitable for you.

Hbr 13:18 Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.

Hbr 13:19 But I beseech [you] the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

Hbr 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Hbr 13:21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Hbr 13:22 And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.

Hbr 13:23 Know ye that [our] brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.

Hbr 13:24 Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.

Hbr 13:25 Grace [be] with you all. Amen. [[[Written to the Hebrews from Italy, by Timothy.]]]

so we see from the word that God gave us Ministers for our protection and instructuion and I will give an account to God as to how I perform my duties as a minister of the Gospel.

i am a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and as such i too sit under authority myself under my pastor..

he is there to instruct me in God's ways ...

1Pe 5:2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight [thereof], not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;

1Pe 5:3 Neither as being lords over [God's] heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.

he is there for the protection of my soul as well. i need his instruction and guidance and his teaching. as a child of God i need it too and as a servant i need it.

as timothy was under pauls teaching and instruction.

What are the Duties on a Minister?

1..preach the gospel and:

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine

2. Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.

1Cr 9:15 But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for [it were] better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.

1Cr 9:16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

1Cr 9:17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation [of the gospel] is committed unto me.

1Cr 9:18 What is my reward then? [Verily] that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

3. win souls:( 19-23)

1Cr 9:19 For though I be free from all [men], yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

1Cr 9:20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;

1Cr 9:21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

1Cr 9:22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all [men], that I might by all means save some.

1Cr 9:23 And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with [you].

1Cr 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

1Cr 9:25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they [do it] to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

1Cr 9:26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

1Cr 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring [it] into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

4. Feed the Church:

Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.

Jhn 21:14 This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.

Jhn 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

Jhn 21:16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

Jhn 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

5. Edification for the body of Christ:

Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Eph 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Eph 4:14 That we [henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, [and] cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Eph 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, [even] Christ:

Eph 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Eph 4:17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

Eph 4:18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

Eph 4:19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

Eph 4:20 But ye have not so learned Christ;

Eph 4:21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

Eph 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Eph 4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

Eph 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

Eph 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.

Eph 4:28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with [his] hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

Eph 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Eph 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Eph 4:31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

Eph 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

6. Pray for the People:

Col 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus [our] brother,

Col 1:2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace [be] unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Col 1:3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you.

Ministers are to Rebuke and Exhort when necessary:

Tts 1:9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

Tts 1:10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

Tts 1:11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

Tts 1:12 One of themselves, [even] a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians [are] alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

Tts 1:13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

Ministers are to Warn of Apoatasy:

2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2Ti 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Ministers of the Gospel Teach:

Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

2Ti 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

2Ti 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

2Ti 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of [this] life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

Ministers of the Gospel Comfort:

Blessed [be] God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

2Cr 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

2Cr 1:5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

2Cr 1:6 And whether we be afflicted, [it is] for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, [it is] for your consolation and salvation

Paul a minister of the Gospel says this is his desire:

That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

Eph 3:7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.

Eph 3:8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

Eph 3:9 And to make all [men] see what [is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

Eph 3:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly [places] might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

Eph 3:11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

Eph 3:12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

Eph 3:13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

Eph 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Eph 3:15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

Eph 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

Eph 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

Eph 3:18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what [is] the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

Eph 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Eph 3:21 Unto him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen

amen and amen paul.....

Called to Preach :

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

1Cr 1:20 Where [is] the wise? where [is] the scribe? where [is] the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

1Cr 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

1Cr 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

1Cr 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

1Cr 1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

1Cr 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

1Cr 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, [are called]:

1Cr 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

1Cr 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, [yea], and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

Ministers are a Testimony to the Unbelievers:

For the eyes of the Lord [are] over the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord [is] against them that do evil.

1Pe 3:13 And who [is] he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?

1Pe 3:14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy [are ye]: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

1Pe 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

1Pe 3:16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

1Pe 3:17 For [it is] better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing

We all are too:

1Pe 3:8 Finally, [be ye] all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, [be] pitiful, [be] courteous:

1Pe 3:9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

1Pe 3:10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

1Pe 3:11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it

What should be the attitude of a believer towards ministers?

we are to pray for them.....Eph. 6 : 18-20

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Eph 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

Eph 6:20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Ministers are to be an example to us as paul says here in 1 cor. 11

1Cr 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also [am] of Christ.

Ministers are to be esteemed highly:

1Th 5:11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

1Th 5:12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

1Th 5:13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. [And] be at peace among yourselves.

1Th 5:14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all [men].

1Th 5:15 See that none render evil for evil unto any [man]; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all [men].

Today very little respect is given to God's ministers...many churches the people want the preacher to preach and teach what they want said in the pulpits....But God gave His servants a promise .

HE said therfore go and I will be with thy mouth and teach thee what thou shalt say.

Many thinkthey are to teach the ministers of the gospel what to say, but God's word declares otherwise....HE IS THE TEACHER OF HIS SERVANTS.

Exo. 4

And God's word instructs us to:

Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

Hbr 13:13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

Hbr 13:14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

Hbr 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of [our] lips giving thanks to his name.

Hbr 13:16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

19 But I beseech [you] the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

God bless and strengthen everyone of you as we journey towards our heavenly home......Until the very shout that will take us out,, serving Christ Jesus always, evangelist dare

By definition, every member of the Body is a minister. Leaders/elders equip the saints for the work of the ministry (Eph. 4). The clergy/laity distinction came about during church history. Paid vocational ministry is not the only ministry. A pastor should not be doing all the work. 'Lay ministry' is legitimate and multiplies gifts in the church and the world.

Leaders are worthy of our respect. They have great responsibility and should be supported as they follow Christ and lead us to maturity in the faith (I am a former Pastor, but still lead and shepherd...without pay).

i am speaking of those who have been called and anointed of God tp preach and teach God's word..

there is a difference in being a witness and being called and anointed of God into His service to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ....

God bless.....much love in Christ, evangelist dare

I agree with Godrulz.

A minister is anyone who serves under the authority and leadership of an elder. In the Bible there are three two positions of authority under the Lord Himself. These are the apostles (1 Cor. 1:1; 1 Tim. 2:7; 2 Tim. 1:11; 2 Cor. 12:12; 1 Thes. 2:6; cf. Rev. 2:2), the elders or overseers of the church (Phil. 1:1; Acts 11:30; 14:23; 15:2; 20:17; 1 Tim. 5:17; 19; Titus 1:5; James 5:14), and the deacons (Phil. 1:1; 1 Tim. 3:18, 12).

In the church it is given that anyone who is called by the Lord to serve in His ministry is a minister. Paul himself, though an apostle, was also sent to minister (Rom. 15:16). A minister in the church is one that cares for the saints and builds them up in the faith (1 Cor. 16:15; Eph. 6:21; Phil 2:25; Col. 1:7; Col. 4:7). Whereas Paul himself was a minister of the new covenant, the Bible shows us that being a minister is not a special calling. The Bible reveals that anyone who ministers God's word to another is a minister (1 Pet. 4:11) It is not a title of distinction. In fact the Bible gives equal status to a minister and a slave of Christ (Col. 1:7; 4:7, 12 2 Tim. 2:24).

In short, we are all called as believers, as slaves, to enter into the Lord's ministry; to minister to one another the words of life for the building up of the Body of Christ. As ministers of the new covenant, God has first called us into the ministry of His Word, to preach the eternal gospel to all creation. In the church he has called us as ministers to one another, to build up the Body of Christ through the exercising of our gifts according to the portion which God has given us (Eph. 4:12; 16).

and I agree with the word.....

based on the word of God there are those that are called and anointed by God to preach and teach...

for ye see your calling brethren.....yes i see my calling......

on June 6th 1999 God spoke to me on a sunday nite in church and said these words..

sylvia i want you to go up and have preacher Treadaway pray for you and anoint you for my service....i didnt go up that nite.....one week i prayed and sought God's face about this....

on sunday morning at 5 o clock God woke me and yes this is exactly what He wanted...

that sunday june 13th 1999 i obeyed that >>>.call<<<<<<< and i went up and the Lord had instructed me to remove my shoes , and my pastor called for the elders of the church and i was anointed and prayed for by him and the elders.

i have NOT been the same since ........THAT DAY GOD ALMIGHTY MET ME AT THAT ALTAR AND HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST..

I didnt know the word that well until God did a work in me......HE PLANTED HIS WORD IN ME THAT I DIDNT HAVE TO SIT AND MEMORISE FOR HOURS HIS WORD...HE PREPARED ME FOR THE TASK HE HAD CALLED ME FOR.

GOD ALMIGHTY CHOOSES HIS SERVANTS AND GOD ALMIGHTY ANOINTS THEM AND TEACHES THEM FOR THE TASK HE HAS CALLED THEM TO DO.

ANYONE WHO SAYS THAT ALL ARE CALLED TO PREACH GOD'S WORD CONTRADICTS THE WORD OF GOD....

GOD CHOOSES HIS SERVANTS, NOT MAN...

THERE ARE MANY TODAY WHO HAVE PLACED THEMSELVES IN THE MINISTRY AND ARE NOT CALLED OF GOD.

AND THERE IS A SCRIPTURE THT TALKS ABOUT THOSE WHO DO AND I CANT THINK OF IT RIGHT OFF HAND.

HOW THEN SHALL THEY CALL ON HIM IN WHOM THEY HAVE NOT BELEIVED?

AND HOW SHALL THEY BELIEVE IN HIM WHOM THEY HAVE NOT HEARD?

AND HOW SHALL THEY HEAR WITHOUT A PREACHER?

AND HOW SHALL THEY PREACH UNLESS THEY BE SENT? ROM.14

Rom 10:15 >> And how shall they preach, except they be sent? <<as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things

My dear brethren u are trying to contradict the word of God.

God calls His servants and He anoints them for the task He has called them to do.

i gave you the word of God...this is>>>> GOD'S WORD,<<< >>>NOT MINE<<.

God chooses His servants.

Mat 10:1 And when he had called unto [him] his twelve disciples, he gave them power [against] unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Eph 4:14 That we [henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, [and] cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Eph 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, [even] Christ:

Dear Sister Dare,

I hope you will accept this post in the spirit in which I am writing it. I am close to your age, so I write to you as a Sister, in the spirit of Love.

My husband and I have been in the ministry (service) of the Lord for the past 30 years. Before that I was with my parents on the mission field in South East Asia. I felt the call of the Lord into missions from the time I was 9 years old, and though there have been times in my life that I was doing things "by rote" I have stayed in the word and in prayer and have tried to stay faithful to His calling in my life since that time. I tell you these thing so that you know where I am coming from.

Sister, I am under the authority of my Lord, my husband, my local church, my pastor (who happens to be my husband) and the deacons of our church. These are my spiritual leaders. These are the ones to whom I go for counsel, prayer, fellowship, and accountability. I have been blessed to find this message board where I have found additional fellowship and sharpening in my Bilble study. Here my authorities are George, God-man and Dr. Luke, but only in matters relating to my conduct on this board and not in any spiritual area. I may look to them for advice in some area, but I feel no obligation to always follow their advice.

Sister, I have read your posts and I find that you have much knowledge in the word. I feel that if I had a problem, you would be a good person to come to for scripture that applies to that situation. But this is not my church. This to me is a place of fellowship and sharing. Nobody here has authority over me in spiritual matters.

I enjoy my time here, (maybe too much time here...LOL ;) ) I usually avoid the more controversial subjects, because I have never been good at "debate" ( My usual response would probably be like Tommy Smothers..."Y Y YOU,....OH YEAH!?") But I read it all voraciously, because I love to learn and sharpen my thinking on most of these subjects.

To Dare and everybody else, I don't agree with everything said here all the time, but I love you all in the Lord our Saviour!

In the Love and Service of Jesus Christ our Lord!! IR :il:

We are all to do the work of an evangelist. The Great Commission (Mt. 28) is for all believers to obey. This does not negate special giftings, anointings, ministries, leaders, etc. set apart by God.

Dare: How is your ministry fulfilled? Do you travel and have special meetings? May you experience His power and compassion through your ministry. May it result in discipled fruit that remains. Let our hearts be broken with the things that break God's hearts.

Incidently, what do you think of this thought? The Ephesians 5-fold ministries can arise within a local church to equip the saints in that assembly. A pastor shepherds and teaches and does the work of an evangelist. Some have pastor-teacher bents and others have a pastor-evangelist heart. Some are good administrators or visionaries. If a teacher equips the saints in the Body (does not have to be in a college setting), could it be part of the resident Evangelist's ministry to equip and raise up multiplied ministries and 'evangelists' out of the Body?

i.e. An evangelist's role could involve more than proclamation to the masses. He could pour his heart and life into the saints to help them fulfill the Great Commission in their communities, schools, and workplaces. The evangelist should not be the only paid professional soul-winner. I do not see this model (proclaim AND equip) very often, but I suspect a biblical case could be made for it.

What evangelists do you admire or are influenced by? Graham, Moody, Finney, etc.?

Dare, a couple of things, please.

that sunday june 13th 1999 i obeyed that >>>.call<<<<<<< and i went up and the Lord had instructed me to remove my shoes , and my pastor called for the elders of the church and i was anointed and prayed for by him and the elders.

My dear brethren u are trying to contradict the word of God.

God calls His servants and He anoints them for the task He has called them to do.

Sister, I picked out the above statements from your post, not to twist them, but simply to comment on their content.

First you say that you were called by God for His ministry. Well, Amen, sister. That

May be i can clear this up. please be patient and read what i have to say.

ok i to thank u for your time..

now we are all called to minister.... but not all are called to be ministers as in pastor, teacher evangelist etc. are we. no way .

NOT ALLMEN ARE CALLED TO BE LEADERS.... IF SO THAT WHO WOULD FOLLOW.

IT IS LIKE THIS..... I WAS CALLED TO BE A PIPEFITTER AND MY WIFE WAS CALLED TO BE A NURSE IN A HOSPITAL..

COULD SHE COME OUT AND DO THE WORK THAT I DID ..... NOWAY

CLIMBING HUNDREDS OF FEET INT HE AIR WITH VERY LITTLE TO HANG ON TO.

BUT AGAIN TO U THINK THAT I COULD GO IN TO A HOSPITAL AND DO WHAT SHE HAS BEEN TRAINED TO DO. HANDLING PEOPLE THAT ARE SICK AND ALL......... I PERSONALLY HATE TO WALK IN TO A HOSPITAL .

BUT THE LORD EQUIPS FOR WHAT HE CALLS US TO DO IN THE MINISTRY

LIKE THIS STORY ..... A MAN

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
