Are there any of you out here still struggling with shameful, guilty feelings long after you've confessed them to our LORD, and you fear HE has rejected you/your prayers?

Do YOU not realize that FORGIVENESS is something HE does, and it doesn't depend on whether we forgive ourselves?

Thoughts??

Greetings Wisdom,

God's forgiveness is always contingent upon our sincere repentance and acceptance of His free offer. When we come to the point of "believing" God then we will accept the fact that we are forgiven. Too often though we (humankind) listen to Satan who is always at the ready to twist God's Word and deceive us for the purpose of destroying our relationship with God. Thus it is very important for every Christian to be completely saturated with God's Word. In the days of temptation of Jesus, He tells us: "Not by bread alone, but by EVERY Word that proceeds from the mouth of God." Yet too many Christians continue to listen to men, listen to Satan and listen to their OWN council, rather than to prayerfully dig into the Word of God for themselves. Jesus was prepared with a scriptural answer to each of Satan's deceptions, how many of us can say that?

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

What's up DE?!  Glad to hear from you again, "shipmate" :read:

Points made well taken, but sadly too many of us get caught up in the very avenues you mentioned.  Our FATHER wants us to come out into the deep waters of forgiveness so that HE can wash and regenerate us daily.  DE, I don't believe many of us understand that we need daily forgiveness from GOD, but the way to this is getting to know HIM (and HIS attributes) better!

It took me awhile to get over some of the guilt that I had....Dad Ernie hit the nail on the head with satan is trying to force you back...I felt guilt about things that I actually forgot I did...meaning I didn't remember them until after I was saved and studying His word....then all this guilt would ebb up and make me think that gee will He really forgive some of this stuff?...I know now that he will I should say He already has!!

Now when I start to feel any guilt I ask God for comfort and He seems perfectly willing to give it to me....now my goal is NOT to repeat the things I did in the past....WHEW what a ongoing struggle....but it gets easier and easier everyday I walk with Him :inlove:

Blessings and Love

Greetings Wisdom & Angel,

I first met the Lord in about 1955 when I was 10. I accepted Him as Lord & Savior, but being young, stupid, no one tutoring me or discipling me and having a family that loved the world, within a month or so I went right back into the world. I later became an agnostic and was almost totally corrupted by the world (much like the prodigal son). In 75, a young man was responsible for leading me back to the Lord, but this time it "stuck". I knew I had to get to know God and so one day I decided to "read the Bible". So I started with Genesis as if I was reading any ordinary book. BIG MISTAKE. I would get so far and the enemy would come in like a flood and accuse me of everything that I had ever done and was not short in words to let me know that I had sinned so badly that God couldn't possibly love me. I then would go to prayer and seek God's comfort and I would repent AGAIN. I started the Bible over several times and several times the enemy did the same thing.

Then one day, I don't remember how, but I was directed to start reading the NT first. WOW!    :read:  I learned that God indeed did forgive me and that He loved me and that now there was no more condemnation. I learned that it was Satan that was the accuser and he came to steal my peace that was made between God and myself.

After reading the NT several times, I could then go back and read the OT and even begin to get some understanding from it. I began to see Christ on every page of the Bible. What a remarkable change in perception. I learned that what I had been doing was allowing the "law" to reveal that "sin is utterly sinful". And of course, I also learned that the only way out of my sinful condition was to accept the free grace that our Lord has given us.

You are absolutely correct. We get "dust" on our feet daily, and thus we need to go to our "Master Servant & Lord" to get cleansing every day. Sanctification is a process, it is not a one shot deal. We are a cup in the hands of the Lord and as it gets used, it needs to be washed again.

Blessings to you "Shipmate" and Angel,

Dad Ernie

Hello refugepsa91 :t2:

It took me awhile to get over some of the guilt that I had....Dad Ernie hit the nail on the head with satan is trying to force you back...I felt guilt about things that I actually forgot I did...meaning I didn't remember them until after I was saved and studying His word....then all this guilt would ebb up and make me think that gee will He really forgive some of this stuff?...I know now that he will I should say He already has!!

I know exactly how you feel because I had the exact same experience :thumb:

I thought why are all these old uncomfortable thoughts coming into my head about the old me, The only reason that came to me is that I had never felt bad about these things that I had done that hurt my fellow man and the SPIRIT was making me aware of these things so I could feel guilt and revolution for the things I had done so as to make me sorry and therefore forgiven for them by the grace provided to me by the Messiah. Do you think like me about this refugepsa91  :read:  does anyone have a different idea about this :t2:

Adstar...

You know what I never did think of it that way...I figured it was satan trying to put doubt in my mind....but after reading your post I am beginning to see a different perspective...Because when these old guilty feelings did come up I did ask for forgiveness....so yes I do believe you are right...it would make sense wouldn't it?...if you ask for forgiveness for something you did years earlier (even if you didn't think about for a long time) you are made aware of it in your NEW life and it makes an impact on your spirit NOT to repeat that sin again....But I do believe that any guilt that I feel after asking for forgiveness is strictly from satan....God does not hold our past sins against us after we truly repent.

Thank you Adstar I can look at this concept in a whole new way now. :thumb:

Love and Blessings to all here!!!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
