Billie have you kept a diary of what you have eaten and looked at it with regard to the time of the month? You may find that your craving for some foods especially chocolate/sugar/high fat are worse at certain times ( days change according to people ) if that is so then at least you have an option of either going with the mood and not beating yourself up about it or working out an alternative food knowing what you are going to crave ? :noidea:

 Lynn, how did you know!?

I've been having such a strong craving for chocolate today, and I couldn't figure out why. That's it. That's why.

You're a genius! :noidea:

Okay, on another note. I had another Balance bar. They're chocolate. I was wondering why they seemed to be so irresistable.

Darrin and I are going out to eat. We're fighting. I keep thinking that I'll feel so much better if I just have something really good to eat. Has anyone else had this emotional eating problem? How should I combat this? :noidea:

dont combat it , go with the flow ...just have smaller portions than you would normally have . If you try to stop yourself eating something nine times out of ten you crave it all the more and this is about a lifestyle change NOT about needing to cut out certain foods because of something like diabetes. You need to just learn moderation and NOT starvation ....and it is starvation when you deny yourself something that your body craves in this way, it is only hormones talking ,listen to them and then get them to be reasonable about the amount :emot-questioned:

Thanks, Lynn. What awesome advice. :noidea:

Darrin and I went eat Mexican. I had:

2 enchiladas

maybe 3 biteach of my rice and beans

1 chimipoquito(bout the size of an egg roll)

2 beef and cheese nachos(chips, not orders  )

1/4 cheese quesedilla(bout the size of a piece of bread)

1 glass coke

Then we went to Starbucks(my downfall). I got:

1 big chocolate chip cookie

1 tall toffeenut mocha

Today, as you'd imagine, I'm not very hungry. It's almost 3PM, and I've had:

1 Balance bar

1/4 leftover quesedilla

1 cup coffee with skim milk

2 tsp sugar

Weigh in's tommorrow, and I'm hoping this time of the month(sorry guys)hasn't ruined my progress.

I just weighed. I gained 2 lbs. :emot-highfive:

I'm not too discouraged because the water retention alone at this time of the month could've been much worse. That combined with uncontrollable food cravings brought on by hormones...........It could've been worse. I'm not really that dissappointed.

This was today so far:

1 cup cereal(again, the sugary kind, but this was before I weighed)

3/4 cup nonfat milk

1 cup raisins/almonds

1 cup coffee with nonfat milk

2 tsp sugar

I want to lose at least 3 lbs this week, just 1 more than what I gained. This hasn't really made me want to quit like I thought it would. I actually want it more. I want to try to do better, instead of give up. I know it's God, because I'm such a quitter. He's spurring me on. I know it, because I don't have it in me to keep anything like this up for as long as I have. He's working through all you guys reading this too. Especially you, Lynn, my cheerleader. :21: Without your encouraging words, I think I would've quit already. Thank you all so much. :emot-highfive:

Hey dont look down in the mouth ( unless you are eating a raw duck :emot-hug::emot-highfive: ) ...you could have gained soooo much more and in a few days you will have lost all that ..YOU KNOW THE REASONS so dont make it an excuse to quit. Just how long did it take to put the extra weight on ? so did you really think it would be easy coming off? I say this as I sit here eating a large bowl of ice cream :21: ..using the excuse that all I have had to eat today has been a couple of pieces of toast so you see you are doing sooooo much better than I am :emot-highfive:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
