:o;):o Sorry Billie but when I remember all the fried junk you ate the first time you posted here and then hear you say you are discouraged by what you ate yesterday I just had to laugh and then give you a great big hug

Silly sister believe it or not your food intake yesterday ( dont know about the cheesecake but hey we are all human and I sometimes eat what I know will actually poison me :P:) ) well it was a good deal healthier than the fries and nuggets......baked potatoe and salad ...how very healthy ...staek has less calories that peanut butter and is high in the protiens that you need especially now when you are recovering from an injury.. Ok maybe you can go from regular coke to diet coke but it is no HUGE thing ...you cant change your entire life in a week you know

Ok almonds are so very morish but do not fill you up ..unless you drink a LARGE glass of water between each mouthful of almonds :) ) you need something that takes longer to chew as that gives your brain time to tell your stomache that it is full. We used to be able to buy something we called beetlenuts ( no not real beetles and they didnt even look like them :48::o ) but I have no idea what you would call them.they are a type of nut but require a lot more effort to chew them . If you have a friendly health food store near you they may be able to suggest something. Also dreid fruit is higher in sugar than fresh fruit ...try snacking on raw carrots, celery, cucmber slices etc instead and again you will have cut your calories by up to 75%

You need to uptake your water intake :o at LEAST 8 large glasses a day as you may be dehydrating without realising it and that makes you feel really hungry .

Keep going and dont be so hard on yourself...just think of all the people that you have already inspired with your great suggestion of this thread

Thanks so much, Lynn.

I went to the doctor today and he said I have shin splints. He said it'll heal itself, but to take it easy, and noooooooooo exercise til the pain's gone. OTC pain meds, ice packs, Ace wraps........

I'm really hurting today, and haven't been able to cook. I've just been eating whatever's lying around. A Balance bar, 5 or 6 cookies, Darrin brought home chicken nuggets and fries, so I ate that. I'm also way behind on my water intake for today. I guess I'm just going to have to repent and start over.........

God, please don't let me give up, no matter how many mistakes I make........

I'm going to check into beetlenuts and see if I can find some. I'll try to do more fresh fruits and veggies for snack.

When I'm hurting physically, it discourages me mentally, makes me not even want to try, but I do want to be healthy so much.

Thanks to evryone who reads this thread. If this thread wasn't here, I would've given up probably after the first two days..........

ahhh ((((Billie )))) you have already done well just learning how to change your habits so even though you have a few days when everything turns upside down you are still ahead of where you were this time last week. Put your feet up, ( yes I know so very easy when you have two young children :24: ) alternate the ice packs with heat packs ( hot water bottle or whatever you have got ) and use the time to plan your meals and your shopping list ....it always helps to have a list  ....hmm just thought ..do you have someone that you would trust to do your shopping ? I know when I was on a tight budget I used to swop shopping lists with my sister who was in the same position...we also swapped purses so we couldnt cheat and did each others shopping ...ONLY what was on the list so we were not tempted to add extras. It could work for you cos if the junk food is not in the house then you cant eat it

Dont be discouraged from excersising, wait till you are fully recovered and then start again but being very gentle and building it up

Smile sister ...as I always told my children ..there is so much more of me to love when I am overweight :24:

Okay, it's been a week, so guess how much weight I've lost?

9 lbs! :24: I now weigh 179! :emot-highfive: God is sooooooo awesome! This is such an encouragement! I haven't been eating well today either, since I'm not cooking, but this has spurred me on to rededicate myself to this healthier lifestyle! 9 lbs in a week! How awesome is that, and not even exercising, just eating better and God did the rest. Well, He pretty much did that too. I never would've had the will-power had He not gave it to me and put it in my head to start this thread, and everyone's prayers..........I'm so grateful to God and to all of you! Let's see how we do this week! :36:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
