In obedience to God

I want to tell you about my sister. She has been married for 23 years and with the same man for 28. She has two grown children, two grandchildren, and is an accountant. She owns a beautiful home and lots of land in the country in Wisconsin. None of these things makes her great but what does is her unfailing love of God and her automatic obedience to His will. To me she is one of the Giants of Faith, let me tell you just a small part of her story.

Last May my sister took in a woman who was in her early 60's who had lung cancer. She met and came to know this woman through her son because she was the daycare lady. The woman was known to the rest of the family as Judy the daycare lady. Last May Judy became very ill from the chemo therapy which was not working. My entire family became involved because Judy did not believe in God. By May she was given six months to live and had to quit working. Her children wanted nothing to do with caring for their mother so my wonderful sister took on the task. We all came to know Judy well and gave her our testimonies, she was visited by our pastors but to no avail. Judy did not believe she was going to die so my sister put all her stuff in storage for her and paid for it out of her own pocket. Now all of this may seem like a good story of love thy neighbor but there is more.

My sisters husband is an alcoholic so she walks out her faith without him. Several years ago he had an affair that became quite open. My sister continued to be the Godly wife and never left simply stating it doesn't feel like it's what God wants me to do. Anyway a couple of months ago I was at her home and the strangest thing happened. The woman who my brother-in-law had been unfaithful with walked in the door without knocking. I was completely shocked and bewildered as I listened to the conversation between my sister and this woman. As it turns out Judy the daycare lady was her mother. I had a million questions going through my mind at the time like how did this happen? Did your son know this before he hired Judy? Has everyone been connected all these years?

Well her son didn't know and it was all only discoverd after Judy was already living with my sister and her husband. Over the last couple of months we all just kind of forgot about the woman because the need for a Savior for Judy over rode all other concerns. As time wore on it started to seem as if she was truly lost and we were praying desparately for her. A few weeks ago a wonderful thing happened, my mother took her to a doctors appointment and brought her home. When my mother got home she noticed that a book called a Case for Christ was missing off her dash. She called me and told me and we prayed even harder. Well finally last Sunday Judy excepted Christ with my sisters pastor. She died a few hours later. For all of us this was like one of those novels that hold you in suspence until the very end. As we grieve for Judy we are also overwhelmed with thanks that she is saved.

After all the pandamonium settled down it has dawned on me what in incredibly huge thing my sister did here. Not only did she take in a person in need, but she had to overcome the past in doing this. She never complained, she never spoke of the affair or even once said this wasn't her responsibility. She loved Judy with everything she had from embraces to bed pans right up to deaths door. My sister is not a scripture scholar I always fill in the Biblical stories for her. There is not a day in her life that she is not going out of her way for someone and for me she is a true mountain of child like faith. I can only believe that God in His wisdom brought my sister and Judy together through this long bizarre trail of what appeared to be coincidences to bring about Judy's salvation and for my sister to do His will. When I read her the scriptures about reigning with Christ in heaven my wonderful sister said. "Oh no you don't think he's going to put me in charge of something there do you? I mean after all the stuff he has me doing here I kinda want a break." I am so honored to be her sister.

Thanks you guys, Judy's funeral was last night. Her children chose to have her cremated and not buried. My sister bosed up all of her stuff at her house and the kids came over get the stuff. Judy was quite poor and really didn't have anything of any value but for some reason the kids thought she might have money stashed in a book because she used to hide money in books when they were young. They wanted to tear through the boxes in my sisters living room and she had to step in and tell them no. I'm still having a hard time grasping how callous some people can be.

Teri,

Bless you for that. I needed that more tonight than you know. What a story. Wow!

Do you see what a life of Love can produce?

I sincerely thank you sister!

To make yourself so available to Christ? Your only desire His Will. This is when you begin to be used greatly. This si when His light shines thru . When your flesh is no longer evident only the Christ in you.

The key of David! When you use it? You will be in the presence of G-d. No longer in the shallow marshy areas of the river. Yet fully immersed in the raging roiling river. You won't notice how mighty it is. For you'll be fully alive.

"My Jesus is a river of Love. He flows from heaven above!"

The key of David,

1Ch

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
