Uh-huh, I get it now....one can be saved, re-lost, re-saved, re-lost, re-saved. re-lost until, I guess, the cows come back home. One can be born again, and then again, and then again, on into the nite until one doesn't really know (or care perhaps?) WHAT one truly is. All verrry interesting to say the least. So might there be EVEN ONE SMALL EXAMPLE of someone in the Holy Bible who was saved, then re-lost, then re-saved EXPLICITLY SO STATED? That dog can't hunt, friendlies! It's as colorful, I believe, as a box of crayolas.

1 John 5:13, of course, is what we all really should spend a moment with!

Thank you, Jesus, for Your gift of everlasting life thru the blood of Your cross!

Read the old testament. God delivered Israel many times until He came to the point that He told them I will deliver you not more. Christ told Peter to forgive his brother up to seventy times seven times. God has made it very clear in His Engrafted word, and it is written out that one can be saved, and on the pilgrimage, and turn back, and it's all based on each individuals freewill choices. That's The Bible Doctrine on The issue and no one will ever be able to change that.

What are your references in particular?

Christ told Peter to forgive his brother up to seventy times seven times.

This was a way of saying that we are to NEVER withhold forgiveness. Please do not employ a hyper-literal interpretation. Jesus was not saying ONLY 490 times. It is a simple euphemism.

That's The Bible Doctrine on The issue and no one will ever be able to change that.

No its not.

Like I said read The Bible, I'm not going to read it for you. All the prophets talk about it. No one will ever change the fact that one can be saved and walk away from God by their own freewill choice. Not even you. As to the number of times that is up to God, and Him only and would most likely be different for each individual.

In other words, you got nothing. You are the one attempting subvert the Word of God and change the gift of salvation in to a performance based, yoke of slavery. You can have your works, I'll take Jesus instead, and we'll see who makes it to the throne.

I certainly WILL! I HAVE passed (Present tense) from death unto life". AMEN!

None of that absolute CONFUSION of saved, re-lost, re-saved, re-lost, etc. for me, Thank You, Jesus! BTW, WHERE IS YOUR ONE LITTLE EXAMPLE ANYWHERE IN HOLY WRIT OF SOMEONE BEING SAVED, RE-LOSTR, RE-SAVED, RE-LOST on into the nite? I wait with baited breath!

Well, the same could be said about OSAS. Show in the Bible a clear and unambiguous passage stating that once someone is saved, they are forever saved. I mean, clear passages that CLEARLY AND UNAMBIGUOUSLY stated "Once Saved Always Saved", not passages taken out of context or where OSAS must be read INTO the passage. No, show a clear cut passage that states without any doubt that once you're saved, you're forever saved. 1 John 5:13 is a promise to those who BELIEVE and continue believing so that passage doesn't prove OSAS.

So, where is a passage that says "Once saved, always saved"? Guess you won't be the only one waiting with baited breath, huh? :x:

As far as examples of those who were alive then dead then alive again, look no further than the Prodigal son, where the father states that "this son of mine was DEAD, and is ALIVE AGAIN" (Luke 15:24, 32), proving that the son was alive when he was with the father but when he left, he died. To be with the Father is to be alive; to depart from him is death. James 5:19-20 states "Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; (20) Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins." That was written to believers for believers, not unbelievers for an unbeliever doesn't have the truth to "err" from it. I could point to Peter who denied the Lord and from the Lord's own mouth, ANYONE who denies Him, the Father WILL deny THAT person. Peter denied the Lord THREE times with swearing yet the Lord restored him when he repented.

And even if these examples don't sway you, who are you to limit God's mercy and grace? Who are you to say that such a thing cannot happen, just because you can't see some example in Scripture that meets YOUR "high" standards? Heaven REJOICES when a lost person repents and returns to the Lord, regardless of whether they were unbelievers from the beginning or if they backslid and became lost again. God desires that all men be saved and He will not turn away a backslider who returns to him, broken and repentant, because His love for them is that GREAT! To quote a passage most often quoted by OSAS, John 6:37, "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.". If a person who forfeited salvation stopped sinning and sought to return to the Lord, according to this passage, Jesus will NOT cast them out! Thank God for His mercy and His love!

I have never believed in the OSAS theory because it is not true...how can a person be always saved? There are things in this life that lead you astray from the truth and yet you think that you are saved....what happens when you die when you are living in that sin? You die in your sin...There are christians who are liars, do you think that they will go to heaven? what does the bible say about liars....

Revelation Chapter 21:8 talks about what will happen to liars

8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

So you think that being a christian and lying is going to get you to heaven? Think again my friend and study the bible to find out that the theory of OSAS is a lie.

the heat is pretty intense in this thread room..

If you are really saved I don't think it is going to be that easy to lose it because if you are really really in love with the Lord you will never want a divorce from Him. But that is not to say it is impossible.

At this time and in this life we are saved by faith. By faith we are just as saved now as we will ever be in eternity. However since it is currently BY FAITH, then if we lose our faith or walk away from it then we lose. Because faith is the substance of things hoped for. Once we are in eternity then it is no longer faith but fact.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
