I'm a church musician. ;) I play bass. God called me to serve in the music ministry when i was just about 15 years old and even didn't know how to play. Got to learn the drums at first, and then guitar, and here I am, playing bass.. the love of my life.. :P sort of. hehehehe.

I'm also involved in our youth ministry, of course there I play music as well.

Oh.. and I like to translate articles from English to my language, sending them out everywhere, and you know what, the translated articles have been put even in magazines.. trully a blessing :)

Wow! Yanks; it's amazing when the Lord calls us into a ministry, or gives us a certain gift, how everything just seems to come together. Nice to meet you, by the way, what is your other language? :)

Umm... lol.. The name is Yarks by the way. Yeah I know what you mean.. if I look backward, I'm happy God gave me the opportunity to play music. It's great! Just love it when I play and at the same time pray, and looking at the people worhipping, trully enjoy God's presence. :emot-hug: Awesome!

And guess what, I just got a phone call yesterday.. someone I don't know who called me to play at his church. So far I've played at 2 different churches. With this it's gonna be 3 churches. I'm so excited. Hope Lord expands my ministry too.. would love to play in different kind of churches so I get to learn more. YAY!!!!

It's nice to meet you too spiritman. My other language is Indonesian. Apa kabar? (That means "How are you")

 Yarks; Apa kabar?; sorry about the name thing, my wife keeps telling me I need glasses, must be my old age showing. we just celebrated my 45th the 25th of Feb. I think that what is happening to you concerning your ministry is wonderful; the Lord is blessing you.

I have decided on sunday to go to that church and if that position is still available be that assistant Sunday school teacher, My study ways will be kinda strange to them since from what I have observed so far, they just read the surface text.

I got kinda hurt there earlier in the year, when I showed the assistant pastor, about hebrew and greek study; you know what he did ?; instead of telling me right then and there that he didn't like the Hebrew and Greek study,( we were at his house at the time), he got up on the pul-pit, and said; " We don't need no Hebrew and Greek study around here".

But; a couple of months later, while my dad was in the hospital, I was discussing with the main pastor about what was expected of an elder in the church; which by the way the assistant pastor did not fit, she liked what she heard, and that is when I got invited to do this.

Well I'll let you go for now, I'm doing some studies. God Bless you.

Bob

I've heard it said; " That almost everyone here on worthy boards is in ministry of some type", I was wondering if those who read this, would post on here what they do for Christ.

Myself, I'm a street evanglist, I go where ever the spirit leads me to witness to others. People on the street, anywhere, anybody. When I'm not doing that, I'm usually studying the scriptures.

:whistling:

That is a great question spiritman, if not for lack of the ultimate question, "What is each Christian doing for "themselves." Because we are not actually DOING anything for Christ, Jesus. HE did it ALL for US. And the very least we can do for ourselves and our country is "get involved" at some capicity or any capacity in trying to save this nation that once was great. It's as though we've taken it for granted and raped it of its reosurces, not to mention the abuse the people have had to endure.

I think to get started, we need to look at what our fore-fathers did RIGHT! And you might note that one ingredients that worked for them was a common denomination that MOST had....GOD! I believe that God is trying to tell each and everyone of us to slow down, not be so self-cerntered and stay focused on how to run this country. And allowing a minority to have major control or our future is NOT the answer. I believe we need to remain compassionate and sensitive to others situations but EVERYONE has to pull their own load and get involved. I'm looking at billions of dollars of mistakes that we just keep making over and over again. You see it in every city now and what's more interesting is the "pornographic" sales billboards are larger and more elaborate than the "family oriented ones." I find it very strange in a city like New Orleans,La and with all that we've been through, the one thing that is thriving is "gambling, video poker locations poping up and casinos are "ringing up" and "racking up" the sales, and all on the "taxpayers" dollars, predominantly! And a great majority of these people are still trying to call themselves "Christians." Do you realize that most "crime" including Murders in this city and the Metro area, can be solved if the local citizens within the area of the crimes being committed. I do understand what a difficult decision it is to "Get Involved" when your speaking of "murderers" and "drug trafficking" in your neighborhood. But some of those people and their children are "sitting ducks" just waiting for something serious to happen. I live in a more settled middle class neighorhood and the mentallity we use is "attack the problems while their small , before they get a chance to escalate to be more serious. For instance, as you enter our main street to our sub-division, you will note an extra wide street down the main drag leading into the sub-division. There are normally NO cars that permenantly park alongside the road /street for great lengths of time. And we aim to keep it that way. It gives a nice presentation as you enter and shows that we make an effort to keep "junk" cars from being stranded alongside. Also, our community organizations puts out bullitens advising others in the neighborhood that we do not allow outside business like traffic around the homes, and to have a "garage sale," you must not only notify the parish, but also the neighborhood organization that maintains the entrance and other areas of the communtity. The majority of our home-owners regularly vote for these details as things arise!

I do various other functions I consider extremely important for MY work in my walk with God. But I also "go to God" first ! God should lead HIS flock! Not the leader (s). And it's easy to note the difference in HIS people!

Blessings

Hi Mike,

Nice to meet you as well, so tell, when talking to a patient, is the Bible the only source that Christian counselors, and therapist draw from?

just curious.

Hi cajunboy.

Thank you for your input, and I understand your concerns, about these things, I believe that most people are two afraid to get involved, alot of times, if the authorities don't catch the criminals, and lock them away for an extended period of time, then the criminals may come back on the ones that ratted on them. And alot of people don't want to place their childern, and spouses in harms way. I believe that law inforcement should take a more active roll in protecting the informent. And perhaps we won't see much of a change in this situation until they do. There are problems with our Judical system as well. I was watching a Bill OReily segment on Fox New, when this Child Molester, got a very week sentance, it was almost a joke.

Do you remember the founder of the Satanic Church here in the U.S, I think his name was Anton Levey. I saw his daughter, and son-inlaw on an interview, and they said " Our goal is to get all the people in authority into satanism, and then we will change the laws and run the country, she was talking about Judges, Lawyers, congressmen, ect...

It's no wonder our laws are changing the way they are.

Well talk at you later.

spiritman.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
