Well, I'm not a heterophobe, but I wonder sometimes why people don't call me that.

Nobody uses that term. They prefer "intolerant" & closed-minded". :)

It was hard to follow all you had to say ...but homosexuality is the only sin that I know of...(if I am wrong..please correct me) ..that God Himself says is an "Abomination" ... there are many...many...

sins...but this one particular is so reprehensible to God Almighty that He says it is an abomination. An apologist (and I am not necessarily calling you one)... can spin it anyway they want but nothing can change the WOG...uniquely ...that sin is such a stench in His nostrils ...that He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah plus other cities ...and will likewise ...for that same sin..destroy every nation within whom this sin is rampant. ..If He doesn't ...He'll have to raise S&G and the other 3 cities and apologize to them for falsely judging them! :whistling:

Well, an abalone isn't a sin, but Leviticus 11:12 says it's an abomination.

Then there's Proverbs Chapter 6

16 There are six things which Jehovah hateth; Yea, seven which are an abomination unto him: 17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood; 18 A heart that deviseth wicked purposes, Feet that are swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that uttereth lies, And he that soweth discord among brethren

So yes, even if you're straight, you can commit abominations. Imagine that.

Ezekiel Chapter 16

49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom: pride, fullness of bread, and prosperous ease was in her and in her daughters; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. 50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw [good].

God seems to care a lot about the poor and the needy, so much so, that if we ignore their plight, we commit an abomination.

Well, I'm not a heterophobe, but I wonder sometimes why people don't call me that. I take issue and speak out against heterosexuals who engage in sex before marriage. I take issue and speak out against heterosexuals who engage in sex outside of marriage. I even take issue and speak out against heterosexuals who view pornography (and even in the past had to discipline myself not to engage in this). By all accounts, this makes me a heterophobe. But if I mention these things to a non-Chrisitan, they just shrug, or perhaps occassionally make a little attack about my beliefs. Definitely not a heterophobe though.

However, if I take issue with and speak out against someone who engages in homosexual behaviour (note that like heterosexuality, the comment is aimed at the act itself, not the person), then suddenly - HOMOPHOBE! DISCRIMINATION! Wha--?? Homophobe???? I wonder what my gay friends would say to that comment?

I continually mention that I sin just as much as a homosexual man or woman. I am no different to them in this respect, just as sinful (different sins, but sin still I do). Yet homophobe I am labeled. Forget all my comments on heterosexual sexuality (or on any sin, for that matter), let's ignore all of that and focus on homosexuality. Why? I never did, and the Bible certainly never does. Yet still it remains so.

DISCRIMINATION, they yell. HOMOPHOBIC, they label. It makes no sense. If I am a homophobe, then I am also a heterophobe, and an allround sin-ophobe as well.

To use the old adage, if I am discriminating, then at least I'm discriminating equally.

Am I alone in these thoughts :24:

Regards, PA

All Unrighteousness is Sin...Slice it ...or ...Dice it ...anyway you want it... Sex before marriage is sin...but there is something real special about gay sex...God calls it an abomination...meaning a particularly despicable sin in the eyes of the LORD...and a particularly hard one to get delivered from...because it can cause the LORD to turn the ones caught up in it "REPROBATE"... and from there ...there is no way back to forgiveness..Read:

Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

True...Sin is Sin...but there are some sins that the LORD hates more than others... and men lying with men...and omen lying with women is a particular stench in God's nostrils... Why? Ask Him:cool:

Yes it does...under the LAW in the OT...But we who are in Christ are not under the Law...and in the NT...this is the only abominable sin mentioned...correct me if I am wrong! :emot-hug:

Correct...but that was for the Hebrews under Law in the OT...we who are in Christ are not under the Law...but in the NT...homosexuality is the only sin called an abomination...please correct me if I am wrong. :24:

God is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow....................one sin is not worse than another in God's eyes. The only ones that make a difference are us, sinful humans.....................what difference does it make if your sin is homosexuality or adultery or stealing, if you are living in unrepentant sin all face the same fate. So yeah, basically your premis is wrong.

So God destroyed 5 cities...blotted them off the map...solely because there were inhospitable? Really? So when you read:

Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did

Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

You take it to mean what? NO other sin is so reprehensible that God send wholesale destruction for the wholesale practice of...and that is why ...chief among the many reasons ... America will be judged harshly and destroyed...

God seems to care a lot about the poor and the needy, so much so, that if we ignore their plight, we commit an abomination.

He also said the the poor are with us always...no big woop...of course we are to care for them....but the failure to do so ...is not a singular reason to bring down major league destruction

God is the same, yesterday, today and tomrrow....................one sin is not worse than another in God's eyes. The only ones that make a difference are us, sinful humans.....................what difference does it make if your sin is homosexuality or adultery or stealing, if you are living in unrepentant sin all face the same fate. So yeah, basically your wrong.

True...but the issue was not sin in general...but the specific sin of homosexuality...yes all unrighteousness is sin...no doubt...but stay on topic...Do you have a verse or that supports your assertion? :24:

DISCRIMINATION, they yell. HOMOPHOBIC, they label. It makes no sense.

It makes perfect sense. Even though what you're saying is truth, truth is hard to accept sometimes.

If a deep rooted part of you was pointed out as immoral, would you just sit there and nod your head?

If you were told that you can't love who you think you love, would you quickly agree?

I think not.

Although it can be frustrating being labeled, the only way most people know how to react when you attack their lifestyle/character (even though it may be truthful) is to belittle their attacker's character right back. It's as simple as that.

So your rationale for fostering and feeding that "deep rooted part of you" ...when you know full well that what you do is doing damage to yourself physically ...and more importantly spiritually...before the True and Living God...is what? God made you that way?... Let me tell you ...God only made 1 fluke...and it was a fish....or do you say you were born that way? Well good... it is for just that reason the WOG says you must be born again:

Jhn 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Jhn 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

Jhn 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Jhn 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Jhn 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. :P

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
