what is the significance of the farmer scattering seed parrable?

Does anyone else ever experience injustices brought about by doing good and what Christ taught us to do; however some Christians forsake you telling you well I hope you learned your lesson as if it is wrong to provide shelter for another individual? :noidea::o

Sorry to whine like this; although it's damages are very present in the church I'm about to depart from.

What lesson can one learn other than certain Christians aren't well rooted in the vine? :)

In Matthew chapter 18 Jesus spoke of a parrable about a farmer scattering seed, and described how some will take shape and blossom.

Does anyone else gather from that parable that it's possible there are Christians out there who have even leadership roles or pastoral roles that aren't truely making their most conscious effort to renew their minds, and make themselves vulnerable for the sake of helping other's? :o

Don't know if I'm describing well what concern I have for the family of Christ, but I'm hoping that for some the eye's of their heart would be opened wider than what is comfortable for them.

It pains me not so much to have to endure trials and tribulations, but how the family of Christ contributes to problems such as mine where I walk out of Sunday service every time memories are triggered by talk of how support groups are such a great help, and when they talk about love and care for our fellow bro.'s and sis.'s etc. I can't even enjoy singing praises to the Lord which is my favorite part of service at that church, because they have a music pastor that does his job well simply because of the suspicious looks and questions asked that are meant to trap me into giving them more reason to feel better about themselves more than anything. :)

Some Christians are a little shinier and made of more biodegradable plastic than other's I guess. :P

So now that you've listened to me whine you can feel free break out ritz crackers and cheese spread. :)

Sorry to those who rather like remaining in their comfort zones... :taped:

Thank you! You've been a great audience and don't forget to grab a copy of my best selling series "don't tell me, the boss is right over there!"

Peace be with you!

hmmm....well that was cryptic.

It sounds like you are mad at someone about something? But alas, I don't have time to figure it out so have a nice life. See ya on the other side when we have eternity to discuss it.

The parable in question has to do with spreading the gospel, evangelizing.

I don't understand where you are going with this thread topic.

Not really following you either except that we are commanded to spread the gospel and planting seeds along the way is a joyful duty. The Holy Spirit will see to it where it falls and if it should produce fruit.

Sometimes the seeds do not grow.

Sometimes they have a difficult time and sometimes they dont make it to fertile ground.

Just because the seed was planted doesnt mean that the work is done, and God will do the rest Himself.

Paul talks about the different stages in 1Cor 1

It may very well be that someone has planted the seed in your congregation and someone else is supposed to work with that seed now.

If we look at Peter and John in Acts 4:13, it could come from anyone at anytime because it is God at work in us through his Holy Spirit.

Acts 3 and 4 really get into the boldness of Christians when we trust God enough to let His Spirit work through us.

I would urge you to pray and meditate on God and His word before you make any decision to leave.

Often God calls us to do things we are uncomfortable with, if we expect to grow spiritually, we have to be bold.

Pray on it and trust the "Helper" to lead you in the right direction.

As for suffering for helping someone.

God bless you.

Most people wont make an effort to help because of what they see happen to people like yourself.

Thing is, NO ONE knows what good you may have done.

That seed you planted in your help may gestate for years and you or no one else may ever know the positive influence you had..... until we meet Jesus in heaven.

Thats what it is all about...reaching out to others in Gods love and sometimes having to take up our own cross as a result.

Some people just dont get it

in Gods love

Dear Jeffrey

I can only guess you are feeling judged because you did an act of charity (maybe) and now you think you are "The Talk of The Town" within your Church and you don't like it and you are coming into Worthy to kick a brother or two and to complain about it and to snitch to the world about my plastic exterior?

WELCOME TO WORTHY

Sometimes when we truly obey God we are falsely accused.

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

1 Peter 4:12-14

Sometimes we are correctly accused.

But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.
1 Peter 4:15

Glorify God.

Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

1 Peter 4:16-19

Whatever is going on, come in and introduce yourself and prayerfully post and post often.

You sound like you could be a veteran or the son of one who was stationed in Japan?

I served in the Atlantic and Caribbean and The Mediterranean with The USN from '60 thought '63

Love, Joe

What Happened?

What happened was what Jesus and many other parts of the Bible said would happen. Read Jn.15:18-21. And the "world" mentioned here is very much the "spirit of the world", which is very much in the "church", as is often referred to in the Bible. But that is no longer a problem to me, it is a fact of life for the Christian who follow Jesus.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
