The gouging is still wrong, and it is still killing me here, in the USA. We know that the oil companies skyrocket the price at the beginning of vacation season, just because they can, but they have been doing it with abandon the last few years, after Katrina, going off the deep end. Guest LadyC Posted May 19, 2007 Share Posted May 19, 2007 fortunately, mark drives home in the tractor (minus the trailer) so he doesn't pay for his own fuel. he rarely drives his SUV anywhere... and i don't do a whole lot of driving, and my car gets good gas milage. so we haven't been affected too badly. still, it hurts to spend 35 bucks to fill up my little 11 gallon tank, even if i only have to do it every couple of weeks. Oh well cancel that summer vacation I fanatasized about. Seriously I am giving my horses a new look and thinking about horse and buggy here folks. Seriously I am giving my horses a new look and thinking about horse and buggy here folks. mark always gripes when diesel goes higher than gasoline.... (he's a truck driver). it takes far less money to produce diesel, according to him. and MOST times, it really does seem to cost less at the pump. so that tells you this really is about gas gouging. the least expensive to produce becomes the most expensive fuel, why? because trucking is the backbone of this country and the oil companies make far more money off truckers than off the driver of a typical 4-wheeled vehicle. and that affects our economy in every aspect, not just at the pump... it causes inflation in every area.
