I like the King James Version - poetically

I also like to have a lot of different versions and in different languages so I can compare them when I have a particular verse I do not understand or need clarification. Comparing translations give astonishing insights and also raise new questions.

My feelings exactly!

Personally I use new King James for study and everything. I tend to have a difficult time with Olde English. Small words such as thus, and thy can mess me up totally!

Oh How I love His Word

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

And His Kids

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Psalms 133:1

You Don't Think We Could Be Related Do You

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Colossians 3:15

I read the Douay version. I am learning Latin, and should be reading a version of the Vulgate soon, but I love the Douay the most.

Beatus Dei, ave Christos!

I use the NIV in Church, at parks (reading the Bible out in nature is awesome!), and for general study.

I use KJV/NKJV for deeper study and that being much less frequently.

what the heck... a verse for today on the mind:

"Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin."

- Hebrews 9:22 AND Leviticus 17:11

I personally am King James only due to the research I've done in this area. I have full confidence in the Textus Receptus/Masoretic text over the Alexandrian texts. I believe the Lord is Lord and can keep his entire Word intacts for us, even at this late stage of the game. I believe that to be the KJB.

It is not something that I will break fellowship over, but after careful study over several years it is my choice. I find the language beautiful. Any words that I may not be familar with I simply look up in a KJB dictionary. Helps me learn.

Chick publications www.chick.com has an NIV test that may suprise some. I know it can be a controversial subject, but one worthy of study. After all, it is God's Word and is precious.

God Bless :)

I am so with you there :24: I'm a "KJV Only" and "God's Pure Word Only" kind of gal :24: I also believe that preserved His Word like he promised and while many may not agree, I believe that that text is what is used in the KJV :)
