Besides destroying Social Security, Medicare, and basically our whole economy. The illegal immigrants I know have been unable to receive Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Welfare, etc. where does a figure like that come from?

If they are illegal, then why are they getting welfare? I know they can't in Georgia.

Here in Texas about 80% of the babies born in Parkland hospital are born to illegals, and we are paying the bills. That's for starters.

the mother doesn't automatically gain citizenship. she must have a sponsor... someone that can prove they can provide for her... either a citizen that wants to marry her or her child must first reach 18 years of age to apply.

She wouldn't be a full fledged citizen, but she would opperate as one. If a mother of a foreign country has a child born here, she cannot be separated from that child. The child is a citizen of the US and is dependent. Thus, the mother can apply for a green card and can (and often is) granted citizenship.

I agree. The whole country should. But communities that can't afford it and try to do something about it lose because it's a federal issue and the federal government won't do anything.

Yeah, but it's like cleaning your house... you can't clean the whole thing at one time.... you have to start in one room in work your way thru...... we have to start local and move up the gov't chain.

I see your point and I do agree. I just think this issue is not as black and white as people think, and there is no quick-fix.

It's not just letting them in and getting them out. Mexicans aren't the only illegals we have. We have got to find a way to stop them from succeeding over here.... then they'll have no reason to be here.

We can make our money where it is extremely difficult to forge... Why can't we do that with the ID's? Right now, I know of 6 different places within the Atlanta perimiter where illegals can purchase - relatively cheaply - fake social security cards, fake driver's licenses, fake birth certificates and fake alien registration cards. You can't tell these from legit ones.... this is part of the problem..... We can't hold employers (or anyone else) responsible until there is some system in place to verify the validity of these documents!

Why though? What makes more sense fiscally?

Spending money and kicking them out of our country...or....fining them $5,000-$10,000 and letting them stay as citizens?
