The "Mind" Games

Do any of you deal with thoughts daily/weekly/monthly that are unspeakable and have to be kept to yourself (besides our FATHER knowing) because of shame ("I can't believe I thought that")?

Do you immediately call on the LORD to cleanse your thoughts?

WOOOOWWWWWWW you get right down to the nitty-gritty don't ya bro???????? hmmmmmmmmm, that's very interesting ---welll i'll be truthful,yep but that is an attack of the devil & every-time almost immediately i BIND the devil & all his demons & command the devil to take ALL those demons he has sent to attack me & my wife & go to the farthest,dankest,darkest,most useless place in the universe & stay there for the NEXT 24 hours... IT WORKS-- I base that on the scriptures,matt;6.-vs34.-- TAKE THEREFORE NO THOUGHT FOR THE MORROW ;FOR THE MO0RROW SHALL TAKE

THOUGHT FOR THE THINGS OF ITSELF.SUFFICIENT UNTO THE DAY IS THE EVIL THEREOF. now i can't PROOVE that is what this scripture means BUT no-one can PROOVE it doesn't-

Actually Wisdom I used to. It took me a long time to figure out is was spiritual war fare. Let your yes be yes and your no be no, the rest is from the evil one. That was the part in the Bible that made me stop and think. Many times a problem was easy enough to solve, like for instance one of the kids said they were suppose to read Harry Potter for english class. Well instead of standing up and saying no right off I went through this whole debate thing in my head. This is just a very small example and one of the last I had to go through before I realized that even Satan has access to words and my head. We down play this in our society now with a cute little devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other. But there is nothing cute about it, and it's very dangerous because until we realize we are giving satan access to our thinking we will always be on the fence. Since I finally got down to business with all of it, we shut off the TV, no more books that do not edify God, no more pretending that Christmas and Easter are not just pagan holidays with white wash on it. We had a tough time with the Christmas thing because well the kids want stuff and they want to fit in. Others were telling us we were wrong because we were not celebrating the birth of Christ. The problem was that once we cleaned house in the other areas God was speaking loud and clear that He will not be mocked. All the rationalization and justification was coming from the world and not from Him. I have been accused of belonging to a cult of JW's and of thinking I'm better than anyone else, along with all sorts of things. The thing is I don't judge others for celebrating Christmas. It is up to each of us to decide what we are doing and how we please God. And heaven truly knows I have hung my share of garland.

In the last year it has weighed heavy on me to get out of this world as much as possible. First I wanted to know what He meant by that, so I asked Him. It has taken Him a year or better to move me along in letting go. He showed me how I was in His light. I am a Christian and as such was deciding that I had the right religion, I could do what I wanted because of my belief system. While I reaped everything this world had to offer I was trying to tell others about how much faith I had. All the other systems out there, Jews, Muslims, people in the occult and such know full well that I was whooping it up on pagan Holidays and just labeling it with Jesus to get away with it. Right when I made my decision Satan was all over me. He was saying the kids will be ridiculed, they will resent you for the rest of their lives, What is the big deal anyways, God will understand, even your christian brothers and sisters will throw stones.

I also sold all my stocks and paid off my credit cards. I just want to do what God asked of me and completely trust him. I have had Christians tell me how irresponsible that all is and God expects me to be wise financially. Well the stock market does not seem at the moment like a wise financial decision but beyond that God did not tell me to store up treasure on earth just in case I can't count on Him. God askes me to trust Him and be obedient, this is a very difficult thing in this day and age. To be honest outside of Satan Christians have thrown the most stones. These are personal decisions that I make so I don't truly understand why everyone gets so upset with how I choose to live with God. I'm not running into peoples houses and stealing their Christmas trees. Nor do I tell others to sell their stocks or shut off their TV. It would be highly hypocritical of me to stand and point a finger at anyone else, especially since I still struggle with all of it.

Satan also uses people even Christians for his dirty work. Just recently a girl at work gave me a bunch of Joyce Myer tapes. We had a wonderful conversation where she shared how God had worked miracles in her life. The next week she was screaming at me for bringing up God at work, and said I was on the verge of losing my job. So I asked my boss and he said it had never crossed his mind. In fact he was happy with how upbeat people had become on my shift. She avoided me for a couple of weeks and then came up to me last week to tell me about church that Sunday. She apologized and said she didn't know what came over her. I explained what I thought it was and how to be more aware of it. We are now back to speaking about God and at work. Thanks for bringing this up Wisdom.

Shilou - thanks for sharing your heart's desire to truly follow the word of God, regardless of the cost here on this earth! It is very refreshing for me to read your comments, especially in regards to Christmas. I'm right there with you!

I enjoyed reading your post.  I really mean that.  I also appreciate your kind words at the end.  You gave us a wealth of info and it all is good info.  The mind is a funny thing.  We cannot escape it, but we can ask our FATHER to take control of it because it truly is a daily battlefield.

I sit down and talk to fellow believers and non-believers about the truth of what goes on in one's head.  Only YOU and the LORD (besides the Enemy) know what you're thinking.  It always amazes me when some of my Christian friends try to claim they don't think impure or even hateful thoughts while looking/or not looking at other people.  It's one of the biggest lies we can live.  I know I do it, and find myself countless times asking the LORD for HIS forgiveness.  We get better at recognizing what is happening the MORE we keep our mind stayed on HIM, but it is a working process.

I've asked people if they as Christians don't have these thoughts, then why do you have Christians having illicit sexual affairs, or divorces involving 3rd party members?!  Why do you have Christians getting into murders or arguments which lead to slander, just for example?  The reality is we need to be mindful daily that we are dealing with two enemies.....Satan and our old nature.  We have a choice in what we think.  Sometimes the thoughts of old "good" bad things come to mind because we want to think them, yet the Apostle Paul sort of addresses this in Romans 7.  We need to daily ask for our FATHER to anoint our thoughts because the Enemy doesn't always wait until you leave for work to start airing his dirty linen in your mind.

I've found that many Christians like to avoid this subject because it makes them feel vunerable.  I say it helps us all grow in grace and knowledge.  The truth will set you free.
