forrest, using personal attacks on someone is not the way to show them that it's wrong and hurtful. . .

I am not making an attack, just an observation. (edited by moderator). For example, stating that someone that you simply disagree with should have been "killed by the terrorists", is indicative of someone who is a vile hatemonger. If I pointed out that a Neo-Nazi was a hatemonger, no one would be accusing me of making a personal attack against them. They would assume I was pointing out the obvious.

To call Bush a coward or a murderer would be a personal attack. (edited by moderator)

Ask yourself, would you say the kind of things about people you simply disagree with that Ann Coulter says about the people that she simply disagrees with? What would you think of someone in your workplace saying that they wish that a coworker would have been killed by the terrorists?

Here is her quote: "if I'm going to say anything about John Edwards in the future, I'll just wish he had been killed in a terrorist assassination plot."

This is of course after the same vile individual called John Edwards a (edited by moderator)". You can watch her say right here: (edited by moderator - we do not allow links to youtube here)

First of all, youtube videos are not allowed. I don't need to watch her on television, I have read her book and know the sorts of things she is capable of saying.

If someone at my workplace spoke in such a manner, I would not call them a vile hatemonger. Not in private or to their face. I would gently, kindly explain to them that type of talk is not helpful to relationships. In the same manner I spoke to you.

It is also a problem that you point out her faults, which are not entirely true.

Just because someone says something nasty, doesn't mean it is OK for you to say something nasty to them or back at them. That's childish. Name calling is mainly done on playgrounds. Not in adult circles. Proverbs 26:4 Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will be like him yourself.

If you want to speak truthfully about someone, why not get to the root of the problem. Sin.

If she is a Christian, then the Lord will deal with her. If she is not, how do your words point her to salvation? Our words are more powerful than you may realize. Can we judge her heart? By your words and actions would it be fair of me to judge yours? Or you mine? Isn't that the most important issue?

"I am completely comfortable with Gay Marriage" - Mrs. Edwards.

Really? I wonder what ELSE you are 'comfortable' with.

Ann Coulter is cool; she says it like it is - and the quote of her saying that she's waiting for Edwards to be killed in a terrorist attack is a RESPONSE to a stupid remark about the vice President, it is NOT an indication that she says stuff like that. Consider the context, people - don't swallow whatever is thrown at you - be an adult and do some research, please.

Ann is not a "hatemonger", no matter how you define that phrase.

Ann Coulter is so right on all the issues and so able to spear her opponants verbally that the only the defense they can usually mount is personal attack on her. SHe has literally been physically attacked on more than one college campus because they mostly can't stand conservatives and have no rebuttal to her arguements and so resort to attack. If you bothered to read her book "Godless, the church of liberalism" you might get a better clue of what she stands for.

Yes, she has a sharp wit and sharp tongue and uses it. She is unabashedly conservative and does not mince words.

You may not like her personally but if you disagree with her political stance that you are pro-abortion, pro homosexual special rights, pro evolution being taught as fact, pro bowing and scraping to our terrorist enemies and the whole liberal agenda. She stands for everything patriotic and the kind of conservatism that stands up for its-self....and for this she is attacked to the nth degree.

I get her column by e-mail so even think its okay to copy and paste.

Here is a sample of Ann.

PARTY OF RAPIST PROUD TO BE GODLESS

Ann Coulter

I thought I'd put off that column on ethanol subsidies I'd been planning to write this week and instead address the topic that has so riveted the nation

Very well stated.

I wish I'd posted that. :b:

Would you call a Nazi a hatemonger? Would you call Fred Phelps a hatemonger? I am not calling her a hatemonger simply because I disagree with her. I am calling her a hatemonger because she spreads hate. In fact, she has made a career out of spreading hate. I am not personally attack her anymore than I would be personally attacking a klansman or a nazi by calling them a hatemonger. I am simply making an observation. Calling Ann Coulter a hatemonger is no more of a personal attack than saying that a heterosexual is straight would be.

A better question here is why read her books? Why watch her on television? Why listen to her interviews on talk radio? Why give her speaking engagements at various conventions?

Unfortunately there are some very hateful and vile individuals in this world, yet decent people normally do not give them a platform to profit from their hate. A lot of people on here have stated that they like her, they buy her books. As Christians, as people who are supposed to be decent and conscionable individuals why would anyone on here buy her books, watch her on television, or listen to her on the radio? Why would a Christian allow people to profit, in fact get rich off, hate?

She has every right to say any vile and hateful thing that wishes to say, she does not have the right to such a platform though. People need to quit giving the woman a platform.

Well, I'm pretty sure Clinton is not a rapist, for one thing. An adulterer, obviously, but rape is a different matter. Sorry, you might agree with what Coulter stands for (if you do, I'm praying hard for you), but the bottom line is that the personal attacks she makes on others are often just mean, and E. Edwards is right to point out that it lowers the standard for political discourse. Is it too much to ask intelligence?

The day she attacked 9/11 widows was too much for me to even stomach. I avoid listening to her when possible now.

I object to that. See my previous post.

Also, you just threw in the wildcard of "no matter how you define that phrase."

If I defined that phrase as "Ann Coulter", I think that would count.

If someone wanted all liberals to be sent to a prison where torture was practiced, to be held alongside terrorists, and torture to be a televised sport, how would that not be hateful? That hate is obviously then mongered in some manner.

And Johni, you realize that the nearly that entire coloumn you just posted was Ann Coulter mounting personal attacks against others, including accusing Bill Clinton of being a Rapist? If by spearheading you mean slandering, then yes, she does a lot of that.

The only difference between Ann Coulter and liberal loser Al Franken is that Ann is successful doing exactly what Franken does. How come none of you lefties every criticize Franken? Or Michael Moore for that matter? Is it because Ann is a woman or a conservative? Or is it because she became wealthy doing what she does so well?

Because they do not stoop as low as Ann Coulter. That is why. I cant think of a single occasion where Al Franken or Michael Moore has ever wished death on someone they disagree with. I can't think of a single occasion where either of those men ever made fun of a Republican who lost their child. This woman wrote a column 3 years ago about the child that the Edwards lost and made a joke in it that said that John Edwards should have a bumper sticker for his vehicle that said "ask me about my dead son".

I want all you guys that like Ann Coulter to dig high and low through the quotes of Moore or Franken and find anything that even is remotely on that level. I am not a fan of Moore and could take or leave Franken, but even at their most mean spirited moments, they have nothing on Coulter. I might add that Franken's books sell every bit as well as Coulters, and Moore if anything is more successful than she is.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
