hi i'm new to this site and am glad i have arrived here, i am in great need of some help with my faith. i have had a recent dilema, i have been praying rapturously for help in my upcoming exams but have had a moment of dark gloom and dispondency, wayward thoughts if you will. is it unrealsitic to expect help from almighty jesus in my exams when he does not appear to help those in iraq, the holocaust or any other recent ethnic cleansing, areas of famine, aids sufferers etc. surely if he were to help at all he would focus on these areas and not my trivial unimportant life. i'm quite at a loss, so please be honest with me, is this the devil inside of me?

put me back on the righteuos path, :emot-highfive: tpb.

welcome,

The love of the Lord is wide and so deep. Your question is very sensitive in that you need to understand. God is God, He does what pleases Him at all times, you ask doesn't he please by healing people? surely he is. Remember righteousness exalt the nation, if any nation does not seek God and His Kingdom. That nation is surely to abound in sin.

Remember Abraham and Sodoma Gomorah story, if there is no one seeking God for the righteousness of the city or country said, there comes a challenge. Remember as God is so powerful and mighty he doesn't force himself people have to ask him to come in.

So God does care for Iraq, Aids infected and affected nations, but how they in need of the master's intervention prolongs the situation. it's not that you are self or some what, the fact you asked shows that care. So in God's time the will be answer not what people keep on telling about these stories.

I was thinking about this same thing this am. God cares about all of our needs. We are to give HIm all our worries:

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, because He cares about you.

My advice, if it's worth worrying about, it's worth praying about. Tell God. He does care. We just are unable to understand His ways. We don't understand why He doesn't "fix" those awful situations, but He has a purpose in what He is doing. I believe that where we see a problem, God sees an opportunity. No matter how big or how small, if it is in His will, He will answer.

He is your Father and He loves you! Tell Him what is on your heart, even those things you consider small. They are important to Him because YOU are important to Him.

thanks everyone thats really cleared it up for me, i was worried that i was asking the wrong questions and going down a dangerous path, i'm glad that other people have these qualms. i suppose it is important to constantly challenge ones faith and never be afraid to question anything, if you cannot question and test what you believe and come out stronger because you are scared of the answer then what you believe is obviously weak and cannot be the word of the almighty. only through questioning and searching our deepest selves will we eventually realise what is right, if our faith stands up to the test and cannot be knocked down then it is true. if we are afraid to ask because of what we might find then there are obviously anomalies in it, and unless as a whole ones beliefs, whatever they may be, are true and strong entirely then they cannot be enlightenment. thank you my brothers and sisters in Christ's love.

Welcome

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Hi, TPB. You asked some good questions! Prayer is a great privilege, and also something we are called to do. The results are in God's hands... sometimes in people's hands depending on if they are obedient or not. When God's plans are thwarted, it's always temporary. Plus it makes it possible for something better to happen.

Consider the people of Israel in Egypt. They prayed for deliverance for centuries. When they were released from slavery, it was by acts of God that people are still amazed at. Exodus 3:7: "And the Lord said, 'I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows."

"In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the angel of His presence saved them; in His love and in His pity He redeemed them..." Isaiah 63:9

For a modern situation. Consider a person who prays for his or her spouse to be more kind and more responsible. Maybe those prayers aren't answered because the person is too stubborn hearted to listen to God. The Lord can use that time to develop patience in the hurting spouse. It would be best if the stubborn one changed... but until that happens, the Lord can use the time to work good things in those he or she is neglecting. (I am not saying it is always wise to stay in a bad situation.)

So don't lose heart about prayer. We don't understand everything about it, but God lovingly calls us to pray no matter what situation we're in.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
