Good morning, Afal.

Don't worry about responding to posts, when you can you do. Just stay, please stay.

Psalm 13

1 How long, O LORD ? Will you forget me forever?

How long will you hide your face from me?

2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts

and every day have sorrow in my heart?

How long will my enemy triumph over me?

3 Look on me and answer, O LORD my God.

Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death;

4 my enemy will say, "I have overcome him,"

and my foes will rejoice when I fall.

5 But I trust in your unfailing love;

my heart rejoices in your salvation.

6 I will sing to the LORD,

for he has been good to me.

Yes, please stay with us, Afal. It's always a blessing to meet a new sister in Christ! Especially one as honest and open as you are. You've got alot to offer.

**************************************************

It seems that I read something on the insert in Brian D's CD that he wrote the song based on this Psalm after the birth of one of his children who had some serious problems. I wish I could find it. Does anyone else remember something like that???

Fiosh, Brian D doesn't mention anything about the birth of his children in the write-up for this song on his CD. Maybe you read it else where(?). What he does say, however, is:

that for the broken-hearted and those who are grieving, singing only "happy" songs can leave them on the outside looking in. I have included this song in this project for all of us who are going through rough times yet still we want to come and worship because there is no other place where we can find true comfort.

Who are you, Afal? :39:

Fiosh

What an interesting question! My first response was 'I am a nobody' but then I thought that that wasn't what you wanted to hear. I am a fun-loving girl who has had her spirit crushed by trauma I guess is a more realistic answer.

My favourite colour is blue - to match my eyes. I love chocolate and rice - but not together! I don't like animals except snails. I love the way they slide up your arm. I could watch a snail crawl up and down my arm for hours - Don't forget that we all have our own peculiarities! :taped: I enjoy reading biographies - especially those where good has triumphed over bad. I don't tend to watch films. I am more interested in non-fiction than fiction. Biographical documentaries are my favourite! :P

What makes me smile? being with friends, being among nature!

What makes me cry? life at the moment

What takes my breath away? beauty in nature - The Canadian Rockies is a good example of this!

I love to watch thunderstorms when I am safe and at a distance. I don't like it when the thunder is overhead. THAT IS TOO CLOSE!!! :b:

Congratulations to anybody who has managed to read all of this without falling asleep from boredom. :emot-hug: Blame Fiosh for asking!!! :24::24::24:

Speaking of chocolate................

I'm on a perpetual diet. So I bought a bag of Hershey's little dark chocolate chunks for a treat. Today I put one in my purse for later............and then left my purse in the car in 90 degree heat. Yeah, what a mess! :24:

I love dark chocolate. How about you---dark or milk???

Biographies?---You must be the intellectual type.

It's cool that nature takes your breath away. Did you ever watch the sky after a storm? and the clouds begin to part as rays of sun come shining thru. It seems as if any moment, Jesus will descend from the sky.

Thunder storms in the mountains are the best! The way the thunder echoes and rolls thru the hills.

Thanks for sharing some things about yourself, Afal. btw...what is the significance of your name???

Peace,

Fiosh

I had seen Ladypeartree's name on the board and I have an apple tree in my garden which inspired me to use the name Ladyappletree. But then I thought that that could be too confusing so I decided to shorten it to apple, but then I thought as Ladypeartree (my inspiration) and I both come from Wales that I should use the Welsh word for apple ... hence, Afal!

There's a site.... http://www.briandoerksen.com/about/biography.html....that gives some bio info. He has 2 sons with "Fragile X Syndrome" , a cause of mental retardation. It doesn't say specifically if any songs were written with them in mind, but it must have had a tremendous effect on his music.

I'd actually forgotten I had one of his CD's. Now I'm wondering where it is??????????? :emot-hug:

Your words remind me of what Peter said to Jesus when Jesus asked if the Apostles, like many of the other disciples, would also leave Him. And Peter says, "Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of everlasting life. We have come to believe and are convinced that you are the Holy One of God!"

That is the most poignant passage in the entire Bible.

When Satan tries to confuse me and cast doubts in my way, I remind myself of Peter's words and say: Jesus, to whom shall I go?

Peace,

Fiosh

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
