Maybe the Roman Catholic Church does have a bit of a corner on the market here, but it seems to me that the traditions of men actually play a major role in the beliefs and practices of all sectarian religion.

I questioned the three day thing about the Ressurection while attending Baptist churches and got a lot of blank stares and illogical explanations from "pastors".

Matthew 27:45 "Now from the sixth hour darkness fell upon all the land until the ninth hour."  The way G-d set up the days and nights is the day starts at when we call 6pm, which is the start of night.  The morning starts at what we call 6am.  The hours of the day start counting from when the sun rises- 6am.  Darkness fell at noon until 3pm.  Even just one hour of a morning is considered to be part of the day.  Yeshua had His Passover on the 14th day of Nisan (the Jewish month we are currently in), He was executed the next morning, He hung through the darkness until He died which is when the darkness lifted.  That had been a day and a night (remember Jews think of darkness as being night).  He rose in the morning of the 16th day of Nisan.

Like you, CWJ, I also received blank stares and even some personal attacks for asking honest questions ... and still do.

The thing that amazes me much today is that people cannot see that they are afraid of open and rational discussions related to simple questions that even imply something might be out of order.
