I was sort of joking, laura. I'm lazy today because....it's 10:30 am and it's 84 degrees outside, 98% humidity, our son's aide is off, big Mike made himself scarce (wonder why?) early this morning and little Mikey is watching Winnie the Pooh...the same episode for the 10th time. :emot-highfive: So, not a demon in sight. Just plain lazy.

The more I read about the demonic, the more questions I have!

OK...do you believe that there are certain demons for sicknesses and afflictions? Like the demon of cancer, or the demon of flu, or even something like the demon of drugs and alcohol? Or a demon of divorce?

I see a lot of pastors on TV who cast out such thing.....is this possible?

Shalom Kari,

No. Demons are demons. There is no such thing as a "demon of cancer." When I had cancer, I had a physical disease, not a demon. I was healed by Jesus using drs and medicines and not casting out anything.

And remember, the Holy Spirit lives in the Christian, so no demon can set up shop.

Depends which denomination you attend. I belong to none and I do not believe that there are demons of clinical illnesses. My teeth have gone, my eyesight is dimming and my hearing is dodgy, but that's because they were neglected. When I was in the working force, their was no safety wear like ear muffs and galsses (unless you were in the engineering trade) not to mention I am aging. Now after saying that, I don't question the healing power of the Lord, but chasing demons is not what He died for. I'll say again, demons cannot cross the blood of the Lamb and cannot invade the temple, which is the abode of the Holy Spirit, which we are told is the christian's body. You got demons, you haven't got Christ.[/b]

If I take my focus off the Lord and step outside the protection of the temple, I get what I deserve.........and I have had plenty...........that is until I really got stuck into the word. Now no demon can get through my armour.

Shalom Eric!!

AMEN!! Brudda, you RAWK!!! :thumbsup::rolleyes:

Yes I agree with you here, eric!

Though there may be demons that have the purpose to cause an illness to someone at a certain time, I don't beleive that there are certain spirits whos one and only purpose in life is to cause that one particular problem.

Death and disease is also an effect of the Fall; some problems our bodies have are the result of a decaying and dying world because of sin.

Honestly, when people go around saying people have the demon of this-and-that, I think it's sometimes just passing the blame for their own problems onto something else. If you've got an alcohol problem, then it's quite likely that's because you started drinking too much and too often and have no self-discipline - not because some demon decided to afflict you with an addiction.

I am a Bible Christian and in the Old Testament we see sickness, disease and death as a direct consequence of disobedience, and demon possession also. All names for demons are listed in God's word. Deaf and Dumb spirit, spirit of infirmity, etc...

Disobedience is opposing God, result is that you are left to the elements of the world, and who is the god of this world?

For believers, God has been merciful to give us a remedy so that sin is unable to dominate us, which is the confession of sin for forgiveness, in the book of James. God has it ALL covered for us. We are to judge ourselves so the world can't judge us, if we are judged by the world we will be judged as worldlings are, we are then subject to whatever. :P By judging ourselves we would know if we get out of the will of God, and so we use the confession of our sin and we are forgiven. Can a believer be demon possessed? No, Christ has destroyed the authority of the powers of darkness. Praise God. Are we tempted to sin? Yes. But thank God as we stay in His word and get closer to Him the more we are aware of how we live and know what is against his will, and we still sin but we sin less and less as we hear the word of God that is perfecting the saints.

It is just like the Old Testament where everytime Israel called out to God, he blessed them, if they disobeyed, were faithless, then came the curses, which were the elements of the world, and the opening of the doors for the wicked to oppress them. They lost the protection and blessings they had with God when they obeyed. And don't forget the brazen serpent which points to the cross.

Satan opposes God's will. Scripture says that satan was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth, there was no truth in Him. Satan obviously was around before Adam and Eve were, but there was not sickness and disease mentioned when they were in the garden. So disease and sickness for man had to have come after their disobedience.

Increase in sin=Increase in sickness and disease.

Sickness and disease is not God's will, it is judgment for disobedience and listening to the voice of the devil and not to the voice of our God.

SHOUT for JOY Believers in Christ as satan labors in vain............. :th_praying::24::41::b:

Our God is :P

How Christ Loves Us,

From my experience. I know of the demon of jealousy who will make you feel like your stomach is churning.. it really feels like the demon has a hand inside your stomach and is turning it and just messing around! I nearly threw up when I felt it!

It comes from the evil eye... some say this is probably one of the things mentioned about in the ten commandments when it reads.. Thou shalt not covote they neighbors possessions, wife, house, etc... I casted it out anyway, nothing to worry about..

I see a lot of pastors on TV who cast out such thing.....is this possible?

Hey, and what about those T.V. Preachers? These Pastors are stealing millions from there followers in the name of Jesus and continue to do so to this day. Calling it The True Gospel. Promising God's financial rewards on those who continue to give to there ministries. What about these that do terrible things in the name of the Lord and steal from the poor wasting millions on there new lavish 2.5 million dollar homes, jets, cars, etc.

What happened in giving to the poor, the orphans, and orphanages, church plants, bibles funds for the gideons, missionaries, food banks, clothing banks, medical ministries, church emergency funds for outreach assistance, shalom zones, prison ministries, christian community outreach programs, christian job corps, christian schools, etc, etc.

There have been several of these caught up in mischef and caught by Christian Watchdog agenicies and on the TV spotlight. Yet they are still on T.V. They will claim it's the Devil that is trying to put asunder there ministry for the Gospel. Yet many of these so-called dictator viper pastors have settled out of court on situations of money mis-management, sexual perversion cases, and fraud, highlighted by previous ministry workers for there ministries. Selling prayer cloths for thousands, saying they are annoited to poor elderly women, who fall for there devious ploy and buy them. The sad thing is, many are still on T.V. reaping in on the millions. There is one who is a female and was caught and highlighted how many homes she actually owns. Where is all that money actually going that is sent to support so-called ministries.

God have mercy on them.

Maybe some of these shady characters that claim to do things in the name of the Lord, should first have there own personal demons cast out. What say you all.

Shame on them, yes first I believe they should cast out there own demons. The demons of lust for money, and deceit.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
