We have all seen the image of the gaunt, emaciated addict with blood-shot eyes stumbling and fumbling from one fix to another. It is an image too horrible for any parent to imagine, and too tragic for anyone to envision. The more I read about and study this whole illegal immigration mess, the more obvious it becomes that there is one main reason why this situation will never be resolved, and that reason lies in the shadows of that emaciated drug addict we all prefer to look away from.

Let's Cut the Compost: Illegal Immigration is Harmful to America's Health

No matter how passionately the blatantly liberal media strives to remove the "illegal" from illegal immigration or how loudly the hordes of arrogant, disrespectful mobs voice their indignant and pretentious messages of perceived and imagined entitlement, illegal immigration is as harmful to America as cocaine or heroin is to the human body.

There is considerable evidence that illegal immigration causes untold harm and results in countless victims on many levels. These harmful effects reach into the very heart of American life and society, and cause untold suffering and anguish to Americans and lawful citizens of all ages and backgrounds. So pervasive is this harm, that even a cursory and yet reasonable analysis of its various angles is enough to demonstrate its considerable impact and toll.

From depressed wages to harmful effects on the poor, African-Americans and lawful citizens alike, illegal immigration exacts a considerable toll on other groups comprising our society.

From an overextended social security and healthcare system to millions in unreported wages and hence lost income tax revenues, illegal immigration likewise exacts an economic impact on our well-being.

We have all seen the social and political toll that this issue creates, with division and conflict springing from the mindless defense of illegality in the name of some trumped-up, two-bit and flimsy notion of social justice.

Hiding the Needle: The Addict Denies His Addiction

Just as a drug addict hides his needle or drug in a pathetic effort to conceal his vice, so too this nation is hiding its dependence and sad cowardice in dealing with this topic. The left pretends that defending illegal immigrants is a form of noble social charity, while some on the right pretend that it is a practical or even reasonable thing to do. Greed for votes of plain greed is at the heart of both arguments. The tragic reality is that for every clueless foot soldier who honestly (albeit erroneously) believes that he is doing good by defending illegal immigration, there are ten dishonest, manipulative and greedy devils of all political persuasions merely using that immigration to feed their own dreams, hopes, aspirations or egos.

There are those who deny that illegal immigration even exists, pretending that it can be lumped with lawful immigration and therefore subject to, and privileged by, the same benefits. There are those who deny that illegal immigration is harmful to America, pretending that we owe eternal gratitude to those people who climb over fences and crawl into trunks for saving America from eternal ruin.

There are also those who will even deny the illegal status of someone, or simply focus on other issues, if that will somehow fulfill their political, social or other agenda. Watch an illegal immigrant murder five people and you suddenly have a man crazed by the war, Bush, misfortune, intolerance or simply long lines at ICE. His illegality is either ignored or brushed over -- since nobody wants to make these groups angry.

The addict hides his bottle, his stash or his needle in order to continue pretending and deceiving. Yet, given the facts and common sense, is that not what America and its leaders are doing?

It's all about pretending hard enough to convince yourself that the arsenic is lettuce, the cocaine is really powerful sugar, or the whiskey is just juice. America is slowly poisoning itself with illegal immigration and liberals, special interest lobbies and the media are telling us that those demanding mobs are victims, America is heartless, and this nation would fall apart without our friendly illegal immigrants.

The Final Fall to Addiction: Perceived Dependency

Once an addict believes that he or she cannot go on without that drug or alcohol, the addictive process is nearly complete. Perhaps the greatest harm of addiction, besides the lost potential and hope, is the notion that one is somehow insignificant and pointless without it. Liberals and the media bombard us daily with images and words describing just how much we depend on and owe to illegal immigrants.

Despite these propaganda images, one could ask oneself a few questions. First, is illegal immigration consistent and comparable among the different areas of this nation? Second, assuming it is not, how have those regions with little present problem in this area fared?

Are they in danger of total collapse? The fact remains, those regions with much less illegal immigration are still surviving and even thriving as this nation so effectively did 50 years ago.

Contrary to liberal squeals, phone calls were still made and received, cooking was still done, and landscaping was still completed before illegal immigrants came to the fore. Yes, lawful immigrants succeed and perform important functions within this society, but liberals and the media would have us believe that America is an elephant sitting on a needle held by all illegal immigrants and that without this unlawful influx, this great nation would collapse into a moral Hillary Clinton stupor.

Defending the Addict: Passionate Demands and Stances

Trying to take an addict's needle away is as dangerous a stunt as trying to convince the National Education Association to say a Christian prayer at its annual convention. Well, take a gander at the contorted faces among liberals and others every time their pet issue of the day, illegal immigration, is passed before their eyes. You would think that every mindless defender and advocate of illegal immigrants had a personal stake in installing revolving doors every 50 paces across the border.

Liberals pretend to defend the poor and African-Americans, yet studies cited in the above referenced article show that illegal immigration harms the poor, African-Americans and even the working class citizen in too many ways to mention here. You cannot pretend to help A while favoring B which harms A, but that is what liberals and their pet media do every day.

The Nature of the Addiction

Just what is it about illegal immigration that is so addictive and enticing to those who put self above nation and the mirror above the flag? For one thing, hordes of illegal immigration provide freshly favored and quite grateful meat with future votes to make. They represent just another group of victims that liberals can grow on their political farm, to mine and manipulate, as situations warrant, for votes and good PR.

If the politically corrupt find illegal immigrants an enticing political appetizer, the materially greedy see them as mindless dollar signs crawling under a fence into their wallets. Trust me: it is not easy to say no to votes or dollar bills knocking on your door.

As a final enticing addictive touch, illegal immigrants provide all of the above benefits while allowing the underhanded, insincere, hypocritical manipulator to appear noble, charitable, merciful, kind and compassionate. Such a combination of dark corruption and false nobility is as hard to resist as the finest chocolate ice cream (personal weakness).

Conclusion

As a fan of '70s and '80s music, I wax nostalgic every time I hear an old tune from those days. A few weeks ago I stumbled across Huey Lewis and The News singing "I Want a New Drug." It occurs to me as I watch proponents of "immigration reform" (euphemismsanother symptom of addiction) scramble and rush to "push" their crusade over the objections of most Americans, that America also wants a new drug.

Given the liberal counterculture of the '60s and its drug-induced indulgences, it should not surprise anyone that liberals are once again doing their best to intoxicate and tempt America with its latest addiction. As things look right now, America is that addict and illegal immigration proponents are America's very willing pushers.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
