The Scriptures have already been posted that tell us we are all called to be Kings, and priests. There remains not need of us to go to any special priest any longer for confession of our sins. We can confess those which we are led to by The Holy Spirit to other Christians, and always to our High priest Jesus. All the sacrificial , and culinary laws were fulfilled by Jesus Christ, and as others have already posted Jesus gave us the names of giftings that are now needed for the perfecting of The Church, and it should be noted that they are called out for the edification of the whole body, and not as positions of authority. The only authority we have is our triune Godhead. Jesus Is King Of Kings (us) and lord of lords. His also our High Priest after the order of Mechesidec, and is The Priest of Priests (us).

Prov 3:5-8 TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL THINE HEART, LEAN NOT TO YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING, BE NOT WISE IN YOUR OWN EYES

.

II Tim 3:16-17 ALL SCRIPTURE BY INSPIRATION OF GOD, AND PROFITABLE, THAT THE MAN OF GOD BE PERFECT

2 Pet 1:20 NO PROPHECY OF THE SCRIPTURE IS OF ANY PRIVATE INTERPRETATION

2 Sam 14:14 NEITHER DOTH GOD RESPECT ANY PERSON

Job 37:24 HE RESPECTETH NOT ANY THAT ARE WISE OF HEART.

John 17:22-23 BE ONE, EVEN AS WE ARE ONE, THAT THEY MAY BE MADE PERFECT IN ONE

James 1:22-25 BUT BE YE DOERS OF THE WORD, AND NOT HEARERS ONLY

Josh 24:15

15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, CHOOSE YOU THIS DAY whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

(KJV)

You use the same structural argument than that of Sandra's.

You state true things about the Messiah and then somehow use them to abolish the Institution of Priesthood which God instituted and never abolished.

If Jesus Christ (the same God who instituted priesthood before) wanted to abolish His very own Institution of Priesthood then why is there no mention of it?. The arguments you guys use to "abolish priesthood" could've also been used by the jews to abolish priesthood (confronting Yahweh's characteristics with "the priests" and concluding that they only need Yahweh and not priests).

Why Jesus Christ picks Himself new ministers and why He gave them specific prerogatives including the prerogative to forgive sins and give absolution?.

Every time Jesus Christ is giving a new authority in the Bible, He's giving it to His Apostles and not to the "entire people", that's obvious.

"Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, and he blessed Abram, saying, Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth." (Gen 14:18-19)

Priests necessarily have to come from God's chosen people, Israel in the OT and the faithful in the NT:

Yes, I know that the priesthood existed in the OT. It was not necesary to quote that pile of OT scriptures.

Now, will you please answer my question?

Does a priest hurt anything. does respecting Mary hurt anything yes she just a women.

The answers are yes and yes.

Jesus was supposed to be our once-for-all sacrifice, which eliminates the need for further sacrifices. If there is no need for sacrifices, then there is no need for a priest. Having a priest is a denial of the completed work of Christ.

Mary has been elevated to a position of honor that belongs to God alone.

The answers are yes and yes.

The correct answer is no and no.

Having a priest is a denial of the completed work of Christ.

No it isn't.

Mary has been elevated to a position of honor that belongs to God alone.

No she hasn't. The Catholic Church teaches the Trinity is infinitely higher, he is God, her creator.

If you think that to be a Christian means to follow the teachings of Christ and his apostles, look at the history, the teachings of those men, look at the early church. There it is. Just read and learn. The Catholic Church in a nutshell. You can find so many Catholic teachings right there in the first century in St. Ignatius' letters, that it is obvious to anyone that it is the same church that exists today. So many of those things are only believed in the Catholic Church to this day. Why separate from the truth that was left by Christ and his apostles?

Para. 6. Let no one be deceived! Even the heavenly powers and the angels in their splendor and the principalities, both visible and invisible, must either believe in the Blood of Christ, or else face damnation. Let him grasp it who can. Let no rank puff up anyone; for faith and love are paramount--the greatest blessings in the world. Observe those who hold erroneous opinions concerning the grace of Jesus Christ which has come to us, and see how they run counter to the mind of God! They concern themselves with neither works of charity, nor widows, nor orphans, nor the distressed, nor those in prison or out of it, nor the hungry or thirsty.

Para. 7. From Eucharist and prayer they hold aloof, because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the Flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, which suffered for our sins, and which the Father in His loving-kindness raised from the dead. And so, those who question the gift of God perish in their contentiousness. It would be better for them to have love, so as to share in the resurrection. It is proper, therefore, to avoid associating with such people and not to speak about them either in private or in public, but to study the Prophets attentively and, especially, the Gospel, in which the Passion is revealed to us and the Resurrection shown in its fulfillment. Shun division as the beginning of evil.

Para. 8. You must all follow the lead of the bishop, as Jesus Christ followed that of the Father; follow the presbytery as you would the Apostles; reverence the deacons as you would God's commandment. Let no one do anything touching the Church, apart from the bishop. Let that celebration of the Eucharist be considered valid which is held under the bishop or anyone to whom he has committed it. Where the bishop appears, there let the people be, just as where Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church. It is not permitted without authorization from the bishop either to baptize or to hold an agape; but whatever he approves is also pleasing to God. Thus everything you do will be proof against danger and valid.

The Church was Divinely established as a visible society, the salvation of souls is its end, and those who separate themselves from it cut themselves off from God.(paraphrased)

St. Ignatius of Antioch (d. AD 106; disciple of Peter and Paul)

Epistle to the Smyrnaeans

13. Make an effort, then, to meet more frequently to celebrate God's Eucharist and to offer praise. For, when you meet frequently in the same place, the forces of Satan are overthrown, and his baneful influence is neutralized by the unanimity of your faith. Peace is a precious thing: it puts an end to every war waged by heavenly or earthly enemies.

16. Do not be deceived, my brethren. Those who ruin homes will not inherit the kingdom of God. Now, if those who do this to gratify the flesh are liable to death, how much more a man who by evil doctrine ruins the faith in God, for which Jesus Christ was crucified! Such a filthy creature will go into the unquenchable fire, as will anyone that listens to him.

17. The Lord permitted myrrh to be poured on His head that He might breathe incorruption upon the Church. Do not let yourselves be anointed with the malodorous doctrine of the Prince of this world, for fear he may carry you off into captivity--away from the life that is in store for you. Why do we not all become wise, having received knowledge of God, that is, Jesus Christ! Why do we perish in folly, failing to appreciate the gift which the Lord has sent us in truth!

St. Ignatius of Antioch

Epistle to the Ephesians

2. Being born, then, of the light of truth, shun division and bad doctrines. Where the shepherd is, there you, being sheep, must follow. For, many wolves there are, apparently worthy of confidence, who with the bait of baneful pleasure seek to capture the runners in God's race; but if you stand united, they will have no success.

3. Avoid the noxious weeds. Their gardener is not Jesus Christ, because they are not the planting of the Father. Not that I found any division in your midst; but I did find that there had been a purge. Surely, all those that belong to God and Jesus Christ are the very ones that side with the bishop; and all those that may yet change their mind and return to the unity of the Church, will likewise belong to God, and thus lead a life acceptable to Jesus Christ. Do not be deceived, my brethren: if a man runs after a schismatic, he will not inherit the kingdom of God; if a man chooses to be a dissenter, he severs all connection with the Passion.

4. Take care, then, to partake of one Eucharist; for, one is the Flesh of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and one the cup to unite us with His Blood, and one altar, just as there is one bishop assisted by the presbytery and the deacons, my fellow servants. Thus you will conform in all your actions to the will of God.

St. Ignatius of Antioch

Epistle to the Philadelphians

1 Corinthians 11:27 "Therefore, whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord."

Why would it matter in what state you ate it in? It is the body of Christ and to receive it without first going to confession is to be guilty of the death of Christ.

And this food is called among us Eu0xaristi/a143 [the Eucharist], of which no one is allowed to partake but the man who believes that the things which we teach are true, and who has been washed with the washing that is for the remission of sins, and unto regeneration, and who is so living as Christ has enjoined. For not as common bread and common drink do we receive these; but in like manner as Jesus Christ our Saviour, having been made flesh by the Word of God, had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so likewise have we been taught that the food which is blessed by the prayer of His word, and from which our blood and flesh by transmutation are nourished, is the flesh and blood of that Jesus who was made flesh.144 For the apostles, in the memoirs composed by them, which are called Gospels, have thus delivered unto us what was enjoined upon them; that Jesus took bread, and when He had given thanks, said, "This do ye in remembrance of Me,145 this is My body; "and that, after the same manner, having taken the cup and given thanks, He said, "This is My blood; "and gave it to them alone.

-Do you think it's a coincidence that the Mass is celebrated pretty much "in every place" now?. We know he's not talking about the jewish holocaust because in the jewish holocaust no incense was present so it's crystal clear he's talking about the christian holocaust, the Mass, and he talks about it as something good so there goes the blasphemy accusation.

-MOBI----THE WORDHOLOCAUST is defined as the slaughter of six million jews in world war two-by hitler & his Nazi-party--HOW can you include this horrendous reference of six-million Jewish men--women--& children-murdered--tortured--conducted medical experiments--upon & then use that term in a reference of an incense used in the catholic church?? This terminology is a slap in the face of those six million jews & the few survivors you might just as well walk up to a jewish man--woman or child & SPIT in their face----

then say happy holocaust---merry holocaust--sssshhheeessshhhh-- :):blink::):P

1 Corinthians 11:27 "Therefore, whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord."

And this is another example of how RCC doctine interprets things out of context.

Yes, we should all have a clear conscience before taking communion...but that is not what the passage you are quoting dealt with.

33 So then, my brethren, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.

34 If anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, so that you will not come together for judgment. The remaining matters I will arrange when I come

Paul was speaking about how the people of that church were not taking communion together. Some were showing up early and eating....while others were purposely going aside from the rest of the church to take communion.

They were a divided church of selfish people who were treating communion as if it were a common meal. This has nothing to do with "making confession" to a priest.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
