Jealous of you 2. Very insecure about her own appearance or 3. She's just plain mean. In any case, IMO, we should not concern ourselves with those who would tear us down but know that He loves us all. She definitely needs prayer. I pick on MYSELF. I know I'm no great beauty, and I know that God created me for a reason....but.....because of what I have been through in my life, I'm just now learning to appreciate who I am and what I look like. I have others tell me what you all have said, but they have yet to sink in, because I have long learned not to listen to men but to God. Men have almost always lied to me....like my ex husband did.....so I learned real fast not to trust what men say but rather what God says. Anyway, that's just my two cents. No inflation here. Maybe this is the way her family talks to each other. In can almost turn into a habit. Just smile when she puts you down and ask her why she feels the need to hurt your feelings. It's possible she has a jealous spirit and by you asking her the question it may cause her to reflect on why she does it. Always confront people in the way Jesus would. With love and compassion. I agree that I think she has some insecurity and self esteem issues. God has maybe brought her to you for a reason, I dont know.
