Why is it that cardcaptor is being continuely attacked by everyone,O yeah, because he is trying to explain the truth to you.

Whose attacking him? :emot-handshake:

Agreed. We are disagreeing with his position. We believe it is biblically incorrect

I wish there were more like him that would #1 understand the truth and #2 stand for it.

Everyone believes their position to be correct, and wishes others would see it

What we believe to be true does not matter. What God's Word teaches does.

2 Timothy 2

15 Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.

16 Avoid worthless, foolish talk that only leads to more godless behavior.

17 This kind of talk spreads like cancer, as in the case of Hymenaeus and Philetus.

18 They have left the path of truth, claiming that the resurrection of the dead has already occurred; in this way, they have turned some people away from the faith.

19 But God

Cain produced a sacrifice not acceptable, not pleasing to God. That was his invention of producing a work which he thought would be well pleasing and acceptable to God. It came solely from his flesh - even though he certainly must have thought that his work would be pleasing to God. Anything that comes from our invention, whether that is a "good work" in the sight of man or even that which we consider is "good work" for God's kingdom - is worthless to God for the advancement of His kingdom.

Genesis 4

2 Later she gave birth to his brother Abel.

Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil.

3 In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD.

4 But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering,

5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.

6 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast?

7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."

Cain had a bad attitude...

The works a Christian is called to do is doing the will of God. They are not of man's inventions or of self, but to the obedience to the Gospel of Christ.

Able did the work correctly in the manner in which God wanted and Cain did it his own way.

And Abel's offering was characterized by faith. The key term is "fat portions". Fat was a valuable commodity in a culture prone to famine. When Abel gave God the very thing that his life depended on, it demonstrated his faith. No one is arguing that faith and works are not related. Genuine saving faith produces works. But the works are a byproduct of faith. It is the faith that saves and produces the works. Abel's saving faith enables him to offer the "fat portion". Your position simply distorts the biblical relationship between the 2

BY FAITH

Able Offered A More Excellent Sacrifice

"By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh." Hebrews 11:4

So Believe And Confess

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10

BY WORK?

Able did the work correctly in the manner in which God wanted and Cain did it his own way.

Believe God

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." John 3:16-17

Or Not

"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." John 3:18

He That Comes To God Must Believe

"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Hebrews 11:6

By Grace Are We Saved

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" Ephesians 2:8

Not By Pride Nor By Bragging No Works

"Not of works, lest any man should boast " Ephesians 2:9

For We Are HIS Workmanship And It Is HIS Good Works That We'll Walk In

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10

Upheld By The Word Of HIS Power Because HE Had By Himself Purged Our Sins

"Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;" Hebrews 1:2-3

:)

Your Works Or HIS Work

Choose Today And Choose Wisely

"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Joshua 24:15

:)

Merry Christmas

And Be blessed Beloved Of The LORD

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:

The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them. Numbers 6:24-27

Love, Your Brother Joe

I wish that people would not just say that but mean it.

Jeremiah 17

7 "But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence.

8 They shall be like trees planted like a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they go right on producing delicious fruit.

9 The human heart is most deceitful and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?

10 But I know! I the LORD, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all peole their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve."

Third, I have read here many times where people have plainly stated that faith and works are not related.

Shalom CC,

Not in THIS thread. Please, don't bring in arguments that have not been raised. In fact, I, as the OP, refuted that false allegation when you threw it, so please drop it, as it does not relate to this topic.

Answer me this - Will a faith without the works as laid in in James save a Christian?

CC, you don't seem to understand. Ephesians 2 states that it is a GIFT of G-D, NOT OF WORKS. And that our salvation is Dependant upon our faith, not our works. James is NOT talking about salvation, he is talking about effectiveness. Please, read the wonderful study that Bib has shared.

The answer is, James is not speaking of salvation by works, but the effectiveness of our works on this Earth. We are saved by FAITH, according to G-d's grace, it is a gift, not a result of works. That is the Biblical truth you keep ignoring.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
