I think this website will be a successful gathering place for Christians and an effective site for sharing the Christian Faith! That's why I'm trying to help.

Funny, I thought that was what a church was for. Silly me. A website cannot posibly fulfill that function.

I don't know enough to recommend or discredit this particular site. Maybe it's God's will for them to succeed. But please be realistic as to what you can really acheive.

first off, WHO ARE YOU???

honestly, i dont know who you are.... it may be fine that you know this group, but we dont know who you are or what you are about.....

dont mean to sound cold, but there are many many many people out in this world that are trying to lay a guilt complex on others, or actually fibbing about needing money....

there are so many people that prey on those that want to do good for other people it is not even close to being funny.... in fact, it is down right nasty the way some try to steal from others....

there is a new one now going around, people are posing as credit card companies, or internet providers, and they want to verify your credit card number or they want this or they want that...... sorry, but if some one is asking for your credit card number to verify it or anything like that, do not give them the number....

if you are unsure about them ( either with the internet or by phone ) then it is best to get a number to call them back at ( cause you are tending with something that you can not talk that very minute ) and if they give you a number ( and ask for the operators name also ) and if they give you a name.... then check it out with the phone number on the back of your card..... and then if it does not, call the number on the card and report it...... also if you have caller ID, then use it.... you can set up the phone so that some one that trys to block their phone number can not call you.....

again, becareful of those that you do not know, for they may not be who they appear to be.....

one day, a person called from the " Sheriffs Association " wanting funds for something or other..... I asked where I could drop off my donation.... they said I could do a check by phone or a credit card or they would have some one stop by.... I said i am not in enough to know when I will be here to meet some one, and that it would actually be easier if I dropped it off for them.... they would not give me a location/address where i could drop off the donation, I then reported it to a friend of mine that is the Under Sheriff....... oooops...... guess what? they was not a legit group that was calling, they would not even give me an address to mail it..

this past year, a young lady called looking for funds to buy gifts for kids that were poor for Christmas..... I like to do things for kids.... but what clued me in on this peticular one as being fake, is that they called on Dec 23...... not enough time to gather much money and not enough time to buy gifts and get them delivered and and and ....... guess what?? they also was a fake....

things to keep in mind.....

if they do not have a phone number to return their call, then dont mess with them....

if they do not have a mailing address, do not mess with them...

if they do not have a physical address, do not mess with them...

if you have not ever heard of the organization, do not mess with them...

if you are unsure about the person calling, do not mess with them....

there are even some that will pose as legit organizations, again, we have to be careful..... if in doubt, DONT MESS WITH THEM......

those "deaf" people in the airports..... they are mostly frauds, and are actually just pan handling..... another thing to look out for..... for this one, my mother is an interpreter for the Hearing Impared.... so I know enough sign language to get by with..... and when one came up and handed me the pencil with the little note attached to it, saying that they is deaf and that they are collecting donations for their cause, I start signing to them, and they usually can not even sign back.... the ones that can usually will take off, for they feel they have been found out.... it is a scam......

another time, some guy came to me and handed me a book ( at the airport ) and asked for a donation.... I said cool, and the book? he said it was mine for a donation, I tossed him a quarter.... the book was one of the moonies ( the book probably retailed for about 30 bucks.... ) he started to follow me and demand i return it or donate more, that is until we came upon a security officer, at which point the guy took off the other way with out a word spoken to the officer....

so you see.... not every one is all of what they say they are...... even me.....

90% of my customers, are either ones that I have done work for over the last 10 years, or I am refered to them by some one else that I have done work for.... the other 10 % get my name from the phone boook..... at least 50 % of my customers will allow me to do work even when they are not there at their home.... some I even have keys for their house...... how did this come to be??? welll, it was not an over night task, it was 10 years in building my reputation.... I treat people honestly, and I do good work.... they also know they can trust me.... yes even with their entire household...... I would not expect any one to allow me in their home with out supervission on the first several visits... until they know me...

as I would not expect anyone to donate to a cause until they know the person recommending it, or until they know that the cause is legit....

sorry Kevin, I can not even condone a person going into a message board and soliciting funds...

oh yea,

something else to think about....

it is not very proper for some one to go to a message board/chat rooms and solicit funds to start another message board/chat room ..... not that I dont visit other chat rooms and message boards, but I also do not try to get people to go to a peticular one nor do I try to get them to finance one that they are not even going to.....

that would be like me trying to open a McDonalds , but going ot Burger King and Hardees to get people to loan me the money to build my place two blocks away from their place..... just not right....
