*is most definitely jealous (just a little bit)...alas, "real-life" has kicked in as of late, otherwise, I too would be there!*

I think its sad how many christians have this view ... that there is pure music and evil music :whistling:

Do you not think that if this were true, that God might have mentioned this in His book: "ok people, pay attention here - look, look, look here!!! These notes are good and these notes are bad ... you can put these ones together and not these ... and these are the particular key and time signatures ... "

... sorry ... :whistling: ... got a bit cheeky there...

ok...goin to listen to ....wwmt (World Wide Message Tribe)

I've just recently discovered Cross Movement. They are a Rap/Hip-Hop group. Some of their lyrics are so very good...

I Am That I Am

Verse 1: Without the Alaa-Kasam!

The author of that website is a wholesale hack. It is one of the most devisive 'christian' websites on the web...right up there with the Westboro freaks.

Right off the bat you can tell his deception and his intent to deceive and malign tobyMac by listing two humorous musical "fillers" between songs as legitimate tobyMac lyrics. And as someone else pointed out...the author has clearly not done his homework on tobyMac because dcTalk and tobyMac have ALWAYS been about racial diversity...not the diversity of pornographers, homosexuals, and pedophiles! What a STUPID STUPID bit of commentary! Is it any wonder that the author didn't post the lyrics to tobyMac songs that totally uplift God and the Christian experience. And seriously...if this guy can't tell the difference between tobyMac and eminem or snoop...is he really a credible judge? Seriously.

BTW...I went to Boomin' Beyond Measure in Phoenix and toby was off the chain! Ironically, tobyMac read from a bible while on stage and used the exact same verse that the author used at the beginning of his trashing of tobyMac (1 John 2:15.) Toby encouraged the audience to love the things of God and not the things of the world, and to be bold for the faith. To stand up and stand out for Christ! I must also say I was quite impressed with Matthew West. Just a guy with his guitar was a surpringly good opener for two high powered, high energy performers like toby and Jeremy.

Also...that website also claims that christian artists like Michael W Smith are occultic (because he spelled his name backwrds on an old album cover with an odd font)...or Carman (he uses occultic symbols in his video for "witches Invitation")...Petra is evil too (Their re-write of "God gave Rock and Roll to You" is highly offensive to the author)...even Third Day is not immune (they have an artsy symbol on one album that appears occultic.) That website is too ridiculous for words!

Shalom,

:thumbsup::):o

I love Toby Mac! One of my fav artists. Awesome ministry.

As for the author of that commentary, well, you can find all sorts of kooky opinions on the Internet and that one is pretty kooky. ;)

 no fair! (I just saw this thread so this is late jealousy.) they got to see Toby & JCamp! no fair!!! .... Toby went to my school (LU).

Well, I've had alot of unfairness already in my young life. I think it's fair to sometimes have a good time! By the way, they took me as well as a present for my 20th birthday next month.

I think one of my all-time favorite concerts was back during my Open House when I graduated from High School in 2000...all my friends pooled together to get me front-row tix with backstage passes to see Skillet on their Invincible tour! That's still some of the most fun I've ever had, even though my ears were ringing for like three days afterward!

There is a bizarre phenomena that was huge in the 80s. Anything that had an electric guitar in it was considered demonic. The whole thing is beyond stupid.

Has anyone read Don't Stop the Music by Dana Key? We have it, my husband has read it several times. Wonderful book.

Shalom Bibs,

No, haven't read the book, but we LOVE DeGarmo and Key's music!
