Ok, sweetie. This is what I have from my Home Remedies book for dogs and cats.

All she may need is a tummy time out. When she vomits don't give her food for 24 hours. If she still vomits after 24 hours, call your vet.

Once she is fininshed vomiting make sure she has plenty of water. OR you could give her ice cubes, our dogs love ice cubes.

Keep the menu bland. After fasting for 24 hours start with a bland diet which is two parts cooked white rice with onepart cottege cheese or boiled skinless chicken breast. Small amounts every four hours. After a day, if she's still holding the food down begin feeding the usual amount.

SLOWLY, after two days of bland food, start bringing back the regular food.

I agree with ya. It could also be stress, weak stomach (As in your pet may not be able to hold down her food sometimes), or excitable stomach. My dog Trigger throws up due to stress, nervousness and his energy levels. Thats what my vet said.

The bland diet works well even with Humans ^.^ diluted chicken broth with rice is also good. :24:

The vet recommended giving her some cooked rice and chicken breast so thats what I'm going to do tonight. We'll see I guess.

I also heard that you should get dog bowls that are elevated. Anyone know anything about this?

I think the elevated bowls thing is a myth. Has anyone ever seen how a dog cleans themselves? :21: Honestly, why would they need elevated bowls for eating and drinking when they can bend like that? :24:

Have you thought that she may be eating something that does not agree with her stomach? I don't mean food I mean other, non-eadible stuff. My Husky/Wolf will eat anything she finds. She is 1. Yesterday she ate an erraser then promptly threw it up. Same with drywall, plastic utensils, anything plastic really, pens, pencils, my bread knife, any knife, screw drivers, you name it, she's tried to eat it.

Keep a close eye on her to make sure she is not getting something she should not be. That might be the problem. :noidea: I hope you get this cleared up soon!

Yeah we're actually very lucky, she has never eaten anything weird. The most she's done is gone into my sons room and come out with one of his stuffed toys, or occasionally, one of my husbands socks.

She used to have a thing for the water hose outside but we took that away and she clearly hasn't had a problem since.

:noidea:

The vet came over yesterday to see her and doesn't believe she has any kind of illness because of her behaviour. He also knows her pretty well because we kennel her at the vets office from time to time when we go out to visit family. He believes its related to a little bit of stress (new baby), the fact that she eats very fast, and is very exciteable.

He recommended feeding her 3 times a day, small portions. If she does vomit that up we are to soften her next meal with warm water.

We'll see I guess. I really hope we can fix this situation soon. It's not fun for anyone.

I also just wanted to thank everyone for your concern and advice. As most of you already know my dog is really special to me and I just hate when this kind of stuff happens. I really appreciate all your help. :noidea:

How about sidewalk salt? Has she been coming into contact with any and maybe licking it off her paws?

We feed our dogs raw meat! Saturday will be two weeks. The dogs have been doing great on it. Buy an assortment of chicken pieces, feed them to your dog and see how she does. Seriously! She'll crunch those bones up just fine, my dogs do! Henry is missing 2 molars, 2 canines, and 1 front tooth. He has no problem chewing. Riley who is 13 has some more trouble and needs me to 'score' the bones for him with poultry scissors. I only give him the thinnest bones, such as ribs and neck, never the drumstick. I also throw in a full raw egg, shell and all once in a while. Once a week I make up a 'veggie mash' This weeks is baked yams and apples. I cored the apples and then pureed the yams and apples. Sometimes I throw in spinach that has been microwaved with a little water and chopped. I also throw in blueberries sometimes. The veggie mash only makes up about 10% of their meal. My dogs sometimes split a banana for a snack.

The reason we went to raw is because Henry has epilepsy, and commercial food has so many ingredients, it's a shot in the dark as to which of the ingredients may be causing the problem. Because raw is fresh, it has far less ingredients as it doesnt need all the extra junk.

Just had a thought, make sure the diapers are well out of your dog's reach. Maybe the absorbent chemicals are causing a problem? Dogs noses are far more sensitive than ours.

By the way, they are now learning that it is not necessary to vaccinate any more than every three years. So save some money and your pet will be healthier for it! Also, dogs who are on a raw diet, usually never need dentals! :emot-cheering:

:36::6: You have got to be kidding me.!!! Raw meat... blood.... can turn viscious if they get the taste of blood in their mouths. I've seen it happen 1st hand. ....... My dog, Billy, choked on a chicken bone & died 12 years ago from it. Bones can splinter in their mouths, which is why RoRo isn't allowed to have those (animal) types of bones. He can have milkbones, though.

Applie, It's really OK to feed your doggies raw meat. It's better for them. We have two dogs, a Jack Russell/Smooth Collie mix and a Husky/Wolf mix, they get raw chicken every morning, thighs and drumbsticks, bones and all. They LOVE it. Sometimes they get pork, but only after it's been frozen for a month, or lamb necks, or beef, occasionally venison. They are extremely healthy and their coats are shiny and their teeth are white as snow.

There's really no blood in the meat. So it's not a problem. Although, I don't believe either one of these two would ever turn vicious because they eat raw meat. I think dogs turn vicious because of foolish owners. If you feed your dogs cooked chicken bones they will splinter in their mouths and they will choke and die. Raw bones do not do that. Fear not. Show dogs and breeder dogs eat raw meat all the time you don't hear about them becoming vicious.

Truly, it's a healthier way to go. The processed dog foods are poision for doggies.

I agree with the raw meat thing...Bones should never be cooked. always given raw and I buy big beef bones with everything on it.

I am ecstatic about the dog only having stress. believe it or not a quiet room just for him with you giving the dog a massage might work also. The dog could need quality time. I am not kidding.

My 'blood thirsty vicious' dog :whistling:

That's actually a myth Agapple. Thanks for the concern though.

I researched this very long and hard before starting this. Having a dog who has severe grand mal cluster seizures, I am extremely careful. Only cooked bones splinter. Henry chomps them bones down just fine.

The huge benefit to raw, is Henry is able to get naturally occuring taurine that is found in much more abundunt quantities in raw as opposed to cooked meat. Taurine is beneficial for those who experience severe seizures.

Henry used to never play before the raw diet. He would run. but not really play. After 8 days on the raw diet, he began to play. And has been playing just about every day since then. He likes things that bounce, such as tennis balls and kongs. He has also been doing alot of 'play bowing'. It's really funny to see this side of him, because when he's not playing, he is so incredibly lazy!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
