I find his whole campaign unsettling -- especially the way the media just worships the guy. The media is not doing its usually job of trying to dig up every skeleton from the closet they can when it comes to this guy. He is not the anti-christ, or any of that. He's just really really slick and knows how to hype a crowd. His speech today was more of the same -- lots of words, but did he really say anything meaningful?

Hillary is probably loving this, though. While everyone is looking at Obama no one is looking into her past either. That needs to change too.

I think its a stretch to assume the media worships Obama. Obviously the press is currently digging up those "skeletons" right now, considering how much media attention he has been receiving.

On the other hand, perhaps the reason that there hasn't been much dirt brought up about Obama directly means that he doesn't have that much dirt? :emot-hug:

He doesn't have much history. He's a newcomer with no record and has absolutely zero experience in governing. And Americans want to give him the reigns of our nation?

We're dead if that happens. kaput. zilch. zip. gone

They dug deep enough to find this. Surely they have found some dirt. They have simply elected to keep it to themselves. As many have said, several of the media outlets have been handeling him with kid cloves and have not, to date, called him to task on any inconsistancies. To his credit, he did face this racial issue head on. Even so he was not as thorough as many would have liked. On top of this the media has made it all about his pastors statements and not about his churches policies or about his "religious committee" stumping fr him from the potium. One thing is for sure. The services held by these committee members will be scrutinized.

Maybe they are waiting to see who gets the nomination. You can rest assured that during the election campaign, all the dirt will come out on both sides.

can we honestly judge the character of a man and his entire life's work from a lapse in judgement on the pulpit that occurred perhaps 3 or 4 times a decade? Again, no one is perfect, not even priests, pastors, reverends.

You mean from a repeated lapse of judgement, right? Words like his come from the heart, not from the brain. If you look at the speeches, Wright is reading from a written speech. That's call premeditated racism.

Hey, guess what? He was right!

Right about what? 9/11? Israel and South Africa? or Hillary?

Again, for the 3rd time, has anyone heard this "preacher" talk about forgiveness, love, salvation and repentence? The cornerstones of the Christian faith?

Right out of the gate he starts ranting about race.

Two hundred and twenty one years ago, in a hall that still stands across the street, a group of men gathered and, with these simple words, launched Americas improbable experiment in democracy. Farmers and scholars; statesmen and patriots who had traveled across an ocean to escape tyranny and persecution finally made real their declaration of independence at a Philadelphia convention that lasted through the spring of 1787.

The document they produced was eventually signed but ultimately unfinished. It was stained by this nations original sin of slavery, a question that divided the colonies and brought the convention to a stalemate until the founders chose to allow the slave trade to continue for at least twenty more years, and to leave any final resolution to future generations.

This man is dangerous. He spent 20 years in a racist church and he tells us he had no idea of their beliefs and people are just eating it up like it's the dessert of the day.

He has ties to the Nation of Islam........if you don't believe me, do some reseach.

This man is dangerous. He has no experience and he's running for this nations highest seat and the way things are looking, he's gonna get it.

You don't want this man running this country. Not with his track record.

I, for one, don't understand the focus on Wright when the entire congregation seemed to agree and subscribe to the same racial animous. Obama would have us believe he has simply been caught in the crossfire but 17+ years of listening to this kind of negative sentiment would inevitably take it's toll on anyone regardless of their race. The people at this church stomp around blaming white people for every disparity that exists in the world base on what they see happening in their little corner of it. The accuse White America of not doing enough in Africa despite the U.S. being the largest provider of Aid. They really need to wake up and take some responsibility.

If that's true, then it certainly discredits the notion that the media is "going soft" on Obama, doesn't it?

That doesn't change my question. It is clearly a lapse in judgement, premeditated or not. Out of his 36 years as a pastor, do his rare sermons truly reflect the work he has done for the community?

Again, for the 3rd time, has anyone heard this "preacher" talk about forgiveness, love, salvation and repentence? The cornerstones of the Christian faith?

Towards the end of one of the controversial sermons, he begins to talk about love, but obviously that isn't added into the media's video clips.

But in general, no, I haven't heard him talk about forgiveness, love, salvation, and repentance. Do you want to know why? Because if I do a search on youtube, I just find the same 2 or 3 sermons repeated over, and over, and over again. Hmm, I wonder why there aren't any other sermons out there that show his message? Oh yeah, it's because these are the most radical sermons. He's been preaching for 36 years, you would think there would be somewhere that I could find "positive" tapes of his sermons. Or at least, if he was always so radical, and his message was always so hateful, you would think there were be much more to choose from, hmm?

The few sermons that are addressed are unacceptable, but we can't assume that Wright's message was always one of hatred, when we only have one (very limited) side of the story. In the same manner, discrediting Obama for "lacking judgment" is not something we can do when we've heard all of maybe 6 minutes of Wright, and Obama's been attending the church for about 20 years. It's in fact quite hypocritical of us to judge a pastor based on 6 minutes, and then claim that Obama lacked judgment.

I don't believe we are all judging him. Most of us are simply admitting the possibility that these outbursts are not as isolated or random as some would have us believe. That being a possibility, what would this say about Obama and are we willing to risk having him as president? I know I'm not.

Obama has clearly stated that he doesn't agree with the sermons being shown in the media. He admitted that Wright was at times a controversial speaker. He did not defend the negative statements Wright has made. He directly confronted them and said they were wrong, and had a defeatist attitude.

So, what exactly are you afraid of if Obama becomes president? That he is going to rip off his shirt, take off a mask, and BEHOLD! He's actually Reverend Jeremiah Wright! Obama has clearly shown that he differs in opinion with much of Reverend Wright's opinions.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
