I think artsylady's point was in the thread's title: she doesn't like scientists. She thinks they're big poo heads. And she wants to share her belief with us even if--or perhaps because--it might upset some people here. The new study surprisingly found that the comb jelly was the first animal to diverge from the base of the tree, not the less complex sponge, which had previously been given the honor.

The finding was unexpected because evolutionary biologists had thought that less complex animals split off and evolved separately first. Dunn says that two evolutionary scenarios can explain why the comb jellies would actually have been first among animals. The first is that the comb jelly evolved its complexity independent of other animals after branching off to forge its own path.

We creationists need to desist this nonsense. Scientists are constantly revising their understanding of things, including evolution. This is to be respected, not ridiculed. Let's attack evolution with good logic and science, ok? Nebula, if I've misunderstood you, I apologize and would appreciate your clarification.

I get into funny moods sometime at the ridiculous of it all.

You have a very warped and immature view of what scientists are and what they do. These people are who make our current affluent mode of living possible. Like your computer? Thanks scientists. They're not as dumb as you portray them. When I hear of a "shocking" new scientific discovery I get excited and think how wonderful it is that human knowledge is progressing and possible advancements from the finding, I don't immediately resort to condescension.
