Dear Saints,

My sister and I were raised a Catholic and was very active in Catholic church for many, many years..... To make the story short, I got saved and is now an active member of a small Baptist Church. When I was a Catholic, I believed with my whole heart that I was already saved but only when a big transition happened in my life that I realized I need to have a personal relationship with my Lord and my God, Jesus Christ. My sister and I talked about my personal relationship with our Lord and she herself accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior. Few months ago she was invited to a Shabbat Service and she told me how well she liked the teachings and service. I was very happy and so blessed 'cause I have prayed for her to have a longing to know more about the LORD. However, I noticed that everytime I talk to her she will always mention negative comments about Christians in general. At first, I thought she must be experiencing some confusion in the Messianic teachings that maybe few more services, it will change. Months go by and it became very evident that she is now separating herself as being a Christian but a Jewish. She actually joined a very small group and their leader used to be a famous musician and he came to know the Lord 5 years ago. I don't know how they call him but as I understand he's not a Rabbi yet. They study the Torah and Talmud. I started to feel a little uneasy especially when she will tell me stories about Christians not having a Torah. So I went to Sid Roth's website and read all the write ups I could so I'd be able to understand what my sister is learning in Messianic Jews belief. All I found there was the enermous love for our Lord and SAvior, Yeshua. I printed some write-ups of "They Thought For Themselves" and I sent it to my sister and to their leader. They read and appreciated the articles and my sister even told me, their leader went to her house teary eyed and very blessed and grateful for receiving those write-ups. After a few weeks, I was told their leader became very vocal in acknowledging our Lord Yeshua in all his teachings. My concern about their group turned to praises..... Yesterday, my sister and i were talking about their members and i found out some of their members have a deep hatred to Christians in general. This member was very close to their leader and he is a distant relative of their leader's wife.

Okay, I don't know exactly what prayer to ask..... it's too many......

My sister is just starting to know the Lord in a deeper way... I just don't want her to be in the wrong group. She was telling me about their members always asking for financial help from her. This brother who hates Christians was among them..... he goes to her house and ask for money all the time and if she gives him less than what he needs, he leaves her house pouting. There was another member where she trusted to give a small business but she didn't pay her back. I told her just let it go and maybe she was really experiencing financial hardship and when she told her she don't need to worry about paying her back anymore, she felt insulted and started to spread rumors about her in their group. Their leader's wife is jealous of her, and so on and so forth.....

I guess what I'm asking is a prayer for these people but most specially for my sister..... When I talked to her this morning, I told her to just join another church but she told me their leader told them if one of them change their church, they will be an outcast forever and will be punish by God. She was afraid something might happen to her. I told her it seemed like she joined an occult group and just using the name of Messianic Jews but she don't believe it is....

Please pray for her. I will let her know I asked for your prayers.

Thank you so much and may our Lord bless and keep you all.

Praying!

It does sound like she's been sucked into a cult.

Perhaps you could ask her who she trusts more - God or men?

If she doesn't trust God before men - then she isn't a genuine follower of jesus christ, she's made the mistake of following other christians instead.

If she does trust God before men, then her salvation comes from her acceptance of what christ has done for her and she is free to change churchs if she chooses, because her salvation doesn't come through another christian or group of christians.

Ask her to picture what God would say to her on judgement day if she trusts and follows other people before him. Sometimes that helps people realise the seriousness of false religion and putting their faith in man.

Hope that helps

Dear Spearmint

So let me get this straight- they implied to your sister that if she left their group, she'd be an outcast forever, and would be punished by God. Woe to you modern day Scribes and Pharisees, if that is what that group is about. There is ONE JUDGE AND ONE LAWGIVER, and He doesn't depend on the will of any group to do His Will.

Tell your sister to run, not walk away from that group, before she puts her faith in men instead of God. They make such a big deal about Yeshua being the name the angel spoke to Mary. What other language was the angel supposed to speak to Mary, she was Jewish. But God is not a God of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles, so we call God the Son Jesus, and that is how He identifies Himself to us Gentiles.

When I prayed for your sister, it was evident that God wanted to deal with her about His Kingdom, and His Will. She needs to renew her relationship with God, especially as Lord, and not just Saviour. She needs to let God be true, and every man a liar, and rekindle the sure knowledge that Jesus is just as righteous as He is merciful. That happy balance is what your sister needs to seek with all her heart and soul, and it will heal her to know personally, directly from the mouth of God, just how merciful and righteous He is. If she seeks Him, she will find Him, when she shall search for Him with her WHOLE heart.

Yours in Christ

soshine

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
