O Boy, Satan is really having a ball isn't he? So much fun for him to get a stab at mockin' God and his children.

It is sad to see our youth getting caught up in seeing this stuff. Wouldn't be wonderful if Hollywood would see the value (spiritually as well as in dollars) in making films that are healthy and God-based on a serious side?

Ho hum... wishful thinkin'

This movie is a total abomination to God. What is sad is, there are actually people who believe that God has lead them to try to convert a homosexual and so they believe that having a relationship with them is ok to do based on that deception.

This movie definately comes from the pits of hell itself.

When we hear someone preaching something not of God, we may get angry, then we tend to forget it for the most part. But when we SEE something, such as a movie, I think it tends to burn that image in our brains. We are less likely to forget it I think. That's why I think this movie, along with the DiVince Code, is very very dangerous and should not be viewed by true Christians. I'm curious to see what type of poison they are spreading but then again, I don't want these images burned in my brain so I think I'll protect myself and stay home.

Dear BPC,

I don't think a true Christian would be swayed by this type of thing. I think the marginal Christians and the abject unsaved would be more influenced by it.

But I do agree with you, I wouldn't waste my time seeing it either. It is a shame.

Just another sign of the times.

Like the author of the article (Falwell, I believe), I have also seen the trailer for this movie. I think that it does appear to make fun of Christians, and it seems the Christian characters in this movie are cast in a terribly bad light. I think that people such as Falwell, should see certain movies, like this one, in their entirety before writing up articles about them. It's just that sometimes it is hard to tell what a movie is truly like just by seeing a trailer. An argument against such a movie would be more convincing if the writer had actually seen the movie already.

Thank you for your voice of reason Rachel. I will admit that I don't know anything about this film as of yet, and have not seen the trailer. But I have read quite a bit about Mandy Moore (my daughter is a big fan), and I find it difficult to believe that she would be a part of something overtly anti-Christian. As is often the case, the trailer may totally misrepresent what is actually portrayed in the film. To just completely condemn the film without even one comment from someone that has seen the entire film is very unfair.

Scot,

You know I have the greatest respect for you so please don't take any offense here..but the thought came to my mind that I don't need to see a porn film to know it's garbage. The stench is sufficient to keep me away.

If I got a whiff of the trailers of the movie, the odor of it would be enough to drive me way back....

Same thing happened with, "Last Temptation of Christ"...I saw just the previews and had to hold my nose.

Okay, I found the trailer and watched it. IMO, it is quite obvious that the most offensive quotes are taken out of the actual context of the movie, something that is quite common in films these days. It's quite possible that the marketing people decided they would get more people to pay to see the movie if they spun the advertising this way. The movie is about a Christian school and the good and bad choices that the teens make. It could very well turn out to be as bad as the trailer, but conversely it could very well accurately portray the real consequences of these bad choices. Without hearing from someone that has seen the entire movie, I just think it's prudent to withhold judgement. http://www.pluggedinonline.com/movies/ is a very good source for movie reviews, so I'll be watching the site after the movie is released.

And no, of course no offense taken Cats! I value your opinion.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
