Just a thought.

I have been away from God for a while.

I want and have come back to Him.

There is so much to be thankful for. Through all my troubles, I think I have still been blessed with so much.

I am thankful I have a house, a job, a car ect.

But these things I got away from God, so does God still bless you with good things in life even though you stray from Him?

Scripture sez somewhere (proverbs I think) that it rains on the just and unjust alike. Therefore at the very LEAST, you were still provided for.

Besides, wouldn't a parent give good gifts to her/his children regardless of whether they deserve it or not?

The more important thing now is to be grateful and give thanks for what has been given and to use it wisely and well and with a joyful heart.

I suppose one must consider what are "good things". In a way, the husks and swine food that the Prodigal Son was forced to eat were "good things" inasmuch as they caused him to remember the plenty in his father's house so that he returned to his father.

Would it be good for a man if he were to be immensely rich in worldly goods yet die and lose his soul to Satan?

God's ways are higher than our ways; His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. What we may consider "good" (say, material wealth) God may consider evil. And what we may consider evil (say, poverty and want") God may consider good. And then again, these things have times and seasons so none is absolute. There is no inherent good or evil in wealth and no inherent good or evil in poverty. There is only what God uses them for to accomplish His purposes. In the eternal scheme of things, God know the ultimate good for each individual, and we are better advised to submit to our heavenly father's love and knowledge and discipline, even if that means material poverty, than Satan's beguiling gift of material wealth in this life and condemnation and judgement in the next.

Perhaps you need to consider the rich young ruler to whom Jesus spoke. He was unable to give up his wordly wealth for spiritual riches and walked sadly away.

In short, you are NOT promised a road paved with gold when you become a Christian. Rather, Jesus said: take up your cross and follow me. The road is steep and narrow and few there are that find it. There is a a joy in the Lord that all Christians can know, but it has nothing to do with worldly success and comfort, and everythinng to do with knowing one's Creator and Saviour.

God does not consider povety and want good not to be rude but some of you people by the wat you talk you would think that God and satan changed roles T he Bible says that the enemy comes to steal kill and to destroy but God has come that they might have life and to have it more abundantly and God wants us to prosper even as our soul proppers if our soul isnt prospering then we wont prosper the most important thing is for our souls to prosper I agree with you on life isnt a bowl of cheeries but we already have the victory and God said He delights in the prosperity of His children

Oh I am by no means rich or whatnot and we struggle financially, but I am just grateful for what we have.

Thats why I was wondering.

I am grateful to God for these things.

Remember this,"God always knows your next move, even though we don't! " So to answer your question whom so many doubt, YES! God will always come to you when you have repented of your sins in sincerity, and will make the effort never to stray again! If I can give you a suggestion to help you from straying again, Try giving thanks to God each day for "whatever?" Try drawing yourself closer to HIM each day of each year and watch your wisdom and knowledge and love of HIM grow more than you ever dreamed possible. It is when we sin and doubt our own selves that we distance ourselves from God! Always read of HIS Word and stay very near HIM and HE will call you often!

Blessings

Yes we can be thankful for the blessings we have been given even before we were Christians. We can be thankful for the earth, for life itself, for our familiy simply for having food, clothing and shelter. The natural order of the universe is darkness and a void of no life, yet here we have life which God has given us we are very blessed to wake this morning.

But the other issue is having great material abundence, obviosly that is not considered important by Christ, the richest men and women in the world are not Christians, and some of His greatest followers both in scripture and in the history of Christianity had very very little in the way of material things, but they were blessed in Spirit.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
