my answer would be that the "days" of Genesis were not 24 hour days.

I get that you don't take the 6 24hr day creation as literal. You have made yourself clear on that point. We confess to both believing in the Bible literally but differ in what the terminology of literal means obviously.

My question is why would you ask a question about the 7th day of rest being a 24 hr day if in fact that's what I believe...like...WHA???

Why do you think there is, or should be, a difference between secular and Christian scientists? Science is science. As far as I am concerned, today anyone who calls himself a scientist yet starts with the Bible as his basis for science is simply not a scientist.

This is a silly statement.

There is no evidence of a global flood. None. Get me some that holds up and I'll pay for your entire family to go to Stockholm when you get your Nobel.

Your intelligence truly far outweighs my high school dropout background.....having said that, your words of debate on the Global Flood issue is not one to reckon with because you flat out refute what the Bible says about the Flood, therefore your view is biased.

I thought science was an area for discussion and debate and acknowledgment of unknowns providing room for any future evidences.

Please provide me with evidence for a global flood within the last 10,000 years. Thanks.

Read Genesis.

I ask because I want to know what you think.

If you think it was a 24 hour day, did that day end? It is unlike the other days as there is no evening and morning mentioned.

Is God still resting or did he start to do something again after that 24 hour period?

On what "day" did God create Eve?

You know what I think.

Go and read your Bible and you shall see what it says in Genesis about the creation of Man and Woman.

Do you question many other areas of His Word like you do with Creation in Gen?

Read Genesis.

Going by your comments on this thread and the one about Noah and the Flood, you would not believe the proof supporting the Genesis account anyway, even if it stared you sqaure in the eye..

Your mind is closed and you are happy to remain in your "intelligence" and peer down and mock those who are Believers and believe in a literal interperetation of the Bible which includes a 6-24hr Creation.

There were some who saw Lazarus raised from the dead....STILL refused to believe it was the real thing.

I get the same feeling with you.

Is it your position that God does not want us to investigate, to use our intellects??

God GAVE you your intellect. USE it wisely.

without a doubt. I delve in to and study His word with a passion.

I study it and take it in context with the whole of His word, I dont take any one part and not look at how it compares with the rest of the Bible.

It was when I really started to study and dig into it that it became clear that the days of Genesis are not 24 hour days.

I don't question the Bible BUT study it.

I study the Bible and let the Holy Spirit lead. In no time do I question God but let the HS open my eyes and ears. I use the HS as my guide and not I moulding the text into something more pleasing and suitable.

Man was created on day six.

Do you have any evidence for Noah's flood other than Genesis?

You are biased.

If I say the evidence for the Flood is in the Bible and you reject the Bible - then your asking me for proof of a global flood outside of the Bible is pointless. You will only accept evidence if it is NOT in the Bible. That is a one sided opinion which falls into the category of a closed mind.

Believing in the Bible and having Faith calls on the Follower of God to reach a higher level of understanding/intelligence because it is dealing with the Spiritual. You are stuck in the physical, with a typical physical outlook. EG: If I can't see it, feel it - it ain't so....that's the same mindset I see in my year 2 students I work with.

If the flood was local, why did Noah have to build an Ark?

Why was the Ark so big if the Flood was local? It would have been smaller if it was a local flood.

Why the need to relocate animals if the Flood was local?

Why were birds on the Ark? If a local flood, birds can fly to higher ground.

Jesus said the Flood killed all who were NOT on the Ark. Matt 24 v37 - 39

If a local flood - why did the waters rise to 15 cubits (8 mtrs) above the mountains? Gen 7 v20

Noah and family were on the Ark for 1 year and 10 days. Doesn't sound like a local flood.

All pre Flood people came from Adam - all post Flood descended from Noah.

The Flood was a GLOBAL cataclysm.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
