It is...So was she saved?
That seems to be between her and God. I don't believe that the Word tells us. One thing that we do know is that she disobeyed God's instructions for remaining safe as they left the city. Ok now, will you tell me what this has to do with the topic at hand?

I have a question.

Was Lots wife saved?

Scripture does not reveal her eternal destination, therefore it is not ours to guess. The secret things of God belong to Him alone, what He wants us to know He will tell us. Same goes for Judas, we don't know if he ever repented either. We know he regretted a good bit, but we don't know if he did anything spiritually about it (it can take a long time to die hanging oneself, he may have or may not have chosen to use that time to repent). There are actually few people we know the eternal destiny of in scripture. Most of them are listed in Hebrews. I think there is a good reason for that. It's not for us to determine, beyond a certain point, who is and who is not saved.

As to the subject at hand,

I believe the person's critique to be right on target, or it is as much as I can understand on pain killers. the author was off in deep probing left field, it's a works based thing in new clothing.

I'm not talking about her eternal destination, so I will rephrase the question for clarity. Was Lots wife judged with the judgement of Sodom, and Gomarrah.

Also what does Sodom and Gomarrah typify?

There is a reason to this line of questions bear with me.

Why don't you just make your point instead of playing 20 questions?

I understand your line of questioning and how it does apply to the topic.

Pre-Christ, people were "saved" by looking forward to the Messiah. While it's clear her people did not know God, it is possible she knew Him through her husband, but the Bible never said if she did or not. But we do know she loved her wicked city, and the Bible tells us that if we love the world, then the love of the Father is not in us. At the moment she looked back, she chose her city over her husband's God.

However, I think you're wrong about trying to tie her situation with post-Messiah Christians, and a clear understanding of grace and God's will reveals that this "well known Christian author" is clearly in the wrong in his assertion.

Thank you sister for taking the time to respond. I would actually would like to as a few more questions, but I would like to say this first. We must understand that though Lots wife was "before" Christ; (as in human living), and her situation was literal, it is also a type. Our Lord tells us to "remember Lot's wife"...Why?

Well first let us be convinced that she was saved. If we dont realize this then the prayer of Abraham, is of none effect. God will not judge the righteous with the wicked. The fact is Lots wife was not judged with Sodom. She was spared that judgement, and futher more not of her own righteousness, but of God.

Now since she was saved, and was not judged with the judgement of Sodom...what was she judged as?

Also, what should we consider that judgement?

1. She WAS judged with Sodom and Ghommorah. She was judged at the same time God was judging them and she was judged for looking back.

2. How do you know she was not wicked?

3. She evidently was not saved as she ended up a pillar of salt. She simply wasnt' judged in the cities, but she was judged along with them. I don't see where you can make the case that she was "saved" from anything.

4. She was not a "type" and the Bible does not hold her up as a type.

Brother, as I said before, bear with me. I really dont want to start a topic of my own because the questions have to do with this topic. All I can hope is that you or someone else searches out what I'm asking.

Just get to the point. Your initial questions have been answered. We can't "search"out what you're saying because we have no idea what your point is.

Either make your point, answer the questions put to you, or just leave the thread as it is bad ettiquette to disrespect the wishes of the OP.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
