Hey everyone,

I just heard some things yesterday and I was wondering if anyone could tell me where Billy Graham stands today on how to get to heaven, as well as what "hell" is. Appreciate any imput or thoughts. Thankyou.

In Christ,

Crystal

May I ask what you heard? As far as I know, his message has not changed, but you can check his site and see if it has.

Sorry for not being more help.

You will notice that BG does not make doctrine a main issue. The reason for that, I believe, is so he can focus on the gospel and not offent people at any end of the doctrinal continuum. There is a doctrinal statement on his web-site

I haven't read his doctrinal statement so I can't comment on that but one can't stand for Truth and not be offensive to some.

He has always been pro-Roman Catholic if that matters to anyone.

There has been rumor going around for years that he no longer claims you must believe in Jesus to be saved. I have looked and have not seen anything in print showing what he actually said. That may be what you are thinking of kitty. If anyone has proof that he denies that Jesus is needed to be saved, I would like to see it. Altho I like billy graham a lot .... his crusades brought my hubby to Christ and he in turn brought his family and me to the Lord .... I always will check the words of a preacher to scripture. If graham has taught something else, I wont close my eyes to that out of misplaced loyalty.

i have to agree with Onelight (and Jade sort of.) you need to go to his site etc to see what he preaches and maybe ask them directly any questions that you have concerning his beliefs and practices in the past or currently.

as to rumors unless they are substantiated then they are just that rumors and need to be taken lightly mho.

that said i agree with jade that what he teaches needs to be measured against scripture and if his teaching is off then he is not to be heeded.

Most of these rumors were generated from an interview on Larry King. Many of the quotes were in the form of sound-bites where you did not get the full context. I agree that you should ask the ministry directly what they believe

you should also be able to google the interview (s)with Larry King at cnn and read the entire transcript(s) if that is the "source" of what the person heard to see whether or not their claims are valid or the interview brought up questions that you need to address with him or his organization.

Can anyone explain this "commitment" thing to me? I hear so many people tell me they are going to heaven because they are surrendered, and sincere, and commited:

The Bible tells us that we are to believe in Jesus Christ. But, oh, what a big word
