Greetings God-man,

I believe that history has a tendency to replay itself over and over again. I believe a wise man once said:

Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

Todays adage is: Those who forget the past are bound to repeat it.

I say these things because I believe much of what was prophesied in the OT has already been fulfilled. We see a couple types of future prophesies given in all of scripture - the "short term" view and the "long term" view. The further out the "vision" is given, the more cryptic and symbolic it becomes. We see in Daniel that he was given both type visions. The short term which I believe pointed to the cross and the 70 A.D. destruction of Jerusalem, and this vision was pretty plainly laid out. But we also see the long term view as the big stone that came up and shattered the mountain. Very cryptic or symbolic.

We also see Daniel being told to "seal up the vision", meaning that he saw things which were not to be revealed at that time. HOWEVER, with John the Revelator, we see the SEALS being opened and God once again giving both short term (the churches) visions to John, as well as long term (the remainder of history, but including from the cross forward). The visions of the churches is NOT cryptic, but starting with chapter 4 of Revelation, we start seeing heavily symbolized images.

There is also a time of the "seven thunders", where John is ALSO told to seal up the vision. I believe whatever that SEAL covers, will be opened up when that day arises to the prophets that have "ears to hear".

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

From Dad Ernie:

...You state that there is NO need for subsequent prophets, other than Jesus. Well, what do you think the Apostles were? What do you think the two witnesses are in Revelation?

I was just pointing out that even if I would agree with that being the case, the same Holy Spirit baptism came upon the Samaritian believers-not when they became Christians but at a later date.

Did the Samaritans become believers before or after Christ's ascension and the arrival of the Holy Ghost (as promised) at Pentecost? We don't really know, do we?

Hi guys

I have a suggestion here for anyone doubting the existence of prophets. Ask God, He will answer you. Too often people who have had deep experiences with the Holy Spirit keep quiet about it because of all th skepticism out there. People tend to not believe what has not happened to them. As I have stated before I had a hard time believing in tongues. God sort of shook me up on this and rattled my cage so to speak. At this point I have never spoke in tongues but I do believe in them and I definitely believe in prophets because for a short time I knew things I could have never known other then God putting them in my head. Clean out the intellect and go to the Lord in petition and prayer and sincerely mean it and He will not let you down. I have another suggestion also, sometimes I have to fast from these boards because I can get so caught up in my own intellect and knowledge of the scriptures that I rely less on God to feed me.

Love in Yeshua

Shilou

Timothy,

Why in the world would you even consider that the Samaritians baptism came before the birth of the church at Pentecost?

OK

Ill take the other side

I think prophets and prophecying are 2 separate things

I think there are no more prophets!! Not really, just not sure,i havent really looked into it.

LUKE 16  [16] The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.[17] And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.[18] Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

the prophets were until John

HEBREWS 1  [1] God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,[2] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,[2] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son

In any case, the next 3 scriptures tell ya to be very wary of false prophets.

JER.23 [20] The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.[21] I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.[25] I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.[26] How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;[27] Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.

MATT.15 .[14] Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

EZEK.14  9] And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.[10] And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him;

Just simply read what the bible says and believe it. There are many who have come in the name of Christ who will try to tell you it doesnt mean what it says.

I think if you study the matter you will find that to prophecy in the name of the Lord one would have to be a prophet.

Hi Bible reader

Like i said i have not really studied this. Really no need to. The bible does interpret the bible if you look hard enough.

Isaiah 30 [9] That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:

[10] Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

[11] Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

[12] Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:

We all know the HOLY ONE is Jesus. In the above passage HE speaks of prophets that will not here HIS law. I take the WORD by what it says. So if i hear anyone calling themselves a prophet and yet do not keep GODS 10 commandments i will not pay any attention to them. That includes HIS sabbath. Some will then claim Jesus abolished the law and they will try include the 10 commandments in this. HE did nail the law contained within the ordinances to the cross. But thats it.

Waldons Mountian, how do you keep the Sabbath?  Are you a 7th Day Adventist?  Or a completed Jew?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
