This whole financial crisis could have been avoided if the congress-critters and other regulators hadn't been asleep at the switch. There were warnings of this before it happened -- but no one wanted to listen. Now we're reaping what's been sown. I'm really disappointed in what this country has turned into of late. We just need to have a reasonable budget and keep to it, one that is not founded upon debt. The federal reserve runs the money, congress does not, as it should constitutionally. The money created by the fed is not really backed by anything, it has no value. It is not backed by gold, it is created by debt. Well this is what happens when you run your country on debt. Eventually bad debts will take the money away. We need to kill the fed and go back to gold standard. Depression will result probably, but dont you believe we're headed there now? We just need to know that when the nation does good in the sight of God, it is blessed and when it does evil it is cursed. And that believers are supposed to be wise and that we are not supposed to be overly attached to the things of this world. Keep these things in mind and you'll get by in hard times.
