Lets say Paul was speaking to you and you disagree with what Paul just said; do you think Paul would back down or be confident in what he just taught you? And if you say he will be confident; why do you think he is confident?

I think he would take all things into consideration first...and if what was being said aligned with what he knew to be true ...then he would be confident...remember his pre-christian Job....that requires confidance....then theres the confidence he had in being an apostle....but if hes wrong then he will accept correction...i.e the food dream he had

So it wasn't because he knew he was being led by God? So he had to think with human logic to make his decisions? Was he not taught by the Spirit?

Cymba, I think you are correct here for the most part. As a well trained Rabbi, Paul was very capable of hearing and dispassionately evaluating other points of view. On the other hand, when Paul knew before God that a doctrine was correct, he was like a bulldog, and would never back down.

Thank you Cymba... But understand that he was totally led by spirit and human thinking and wisdom had nothing to do with it... therefore he was confident in what he taught b/c it was taught by God himself through precious Holy Spirit...

You guyz crack me up. Yes you are right Cymba... He knew he was being led by spirit b/c it was very obvious. But human logic and reasoning had nothing to due with his teachings...

so when he was telling the women they should be quite in church and b asically ask any questions later ...that isn't human reasoning???the human reasoning being if they made too much noise then they wouldn't hear the preacher...it doesn't take the holy spirit to give you that one...human reasoning does.

human logic and reasoning is and was used...the Holy Ghost came into play when aplying this humand reasoning(discernment)
