Casting Crowns is excellent, as is POD.

I would add Seventh Day Slumber and Pillar to the list if you like a harder sound.

The swift

switchfoot

Relient K (a must listen I think we'd all agree)

Mercyme

But don't go boycotting secular music just because it's the trend, if you stop listening because of convictions thats fine. But secular music is just about as good and the olderstuff is alittle better than alot of the christian music (musically if not lyricly)

Hey.. I just got this AWESOME CD, called

Hillsong- Next Generation. It's more modern, rock type of worship! I LOVE IT. It's my absolute favorite style of Music,

I Love New Influence (new band, check em out) They are just coming out with their second album, it's heavier than their first. It's awesome tho!

New Influence Website

I Love DcTalk, Newsboys, REvival In Belfast, Michael W. Smith, Keith Green, Switchfoot, Relient K, MercyMe, OHH! THERE ARE TONS OF THEM!

God Bless

I absolutely love Mercy Me's "I Can Only Imagine." I also like Carman and Point of Grace. Of course, if you remember the 80's, there's always Amy Grant before she became a pop star. Michael W. Smith is also okay. However, for the best in gospel singing that can top ANY of these guys on their best day, you might try this CD:

Yeah... Mine have been said.

Too bad.

POD (more mainstream, nice and heavy)

Creed (they have their moments)

Relient K (havent heard much, seemed ok)

Switchfoot (I LOVE "Let That Be Enough")

Kutless (Donna got me listening hehe)

Evanescence (for the more Goth sound)

12 Stones (they are good)

I have heard that Jars of Clay are pretty good.

Black Eyed Peas... Ive heard mixed things about them, but im not at all into hip-hop or rap... anyone know? Outkast isnt Christian material I dont think...

Some mainstream bands are Christian "friendly", though do not spread gospel if thats what you are looking for.

Listen to "Secret Ambition" by Michael W. Smith. Its an older song, and more of an adult singer but the song is AMAZING and the video is very moving too.

For more info go to www.christianrock.net there is also www.christianhardrock.net and www.christian-hiphop.net , they are decent sites.

Ok so I am a music buff - I like music *smile*

Guest aka_mary

My eldest celebrated her 17th birthday on June 16th.

We bought her an electric guitar, and the new Third Day c.d. She loved both
