I have 2 specific questions - but thinking a lot off and on about the Age of the Earth/Age of the Universe, Scientific Creationism [www.icr.org] vs Evolutionism and the battle going on. Lot of meanness from both sides and differences within each of the 2 sides: Creationism <-> Evolutionism.

Anyway, i am a disciple of Jesus Christ who has been given the knowledge [not by man] that The Holy Bible [except for minor copyist and translation errors] is the Word of God. So, to me, every word from <Genesis 1:1> to <Revelation 22:21> is precious and to be cherished.

That done. My 2 specific questions:

1. <Genesis 1:20> "And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven."

<Genesis 2:19> "And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of he field, and every fowl of the air..."

My first question -FINALLY!-this tells me that the fowl came from the waters in <Genesis 1:20> and fowl came from the ground <Genesis 2:19>. I had a few days ago emails from www.icr.org reiterating that <Genesis 1> and <Genesis 2> describe the same literal 6 day Creation. If anyone can harmonize the source of fowl i would appreciate it. I tend to think the earth/Universe is 6-10thousand years old, but there is much in the Scriptures i am thinking about.

2. <2Peter 2:4,5,6,7> could be considered a chronological ordering of 4 separate events. Angels cast to hell, Noah's Flood, Sodom and Gomorrha destroyed, Lot saved. <Jude 1:6> describing angels not keeping their first estate being reserved in chains sound like more light on the first event of angels being cast into hell. However, since <Jude 1:6> discusses the event of the Exodus, it doesn't sound like Jude is meant to give a chronological ordering.

For the first event, angels cast to hell, when in <Genesis> did this occur? Say <Genesis <1:1> starts at time T=0 [when time was created]. Seems to me plausible that <Genesis 6:2-> could be describing the angels not keeping their first estate like <Jude 1:6> defines. But others have said this could not be describing angels.

Please don't ask why i am asking those 2 specific questions-trying to follow my thinking is probably not what would be edifying. :suspect: I have a bunch of other Scriptures kind of as "balls in the air" in terms of harmonizing ALL Scripture, and answers to these 2 questions would help me a lot, i believe.

Thank you - anyone and everyone - in advance for your time and Godly assistance.

The Forward, in G.H. Pember's book, "Earth's Earliest Ages" says this:

The first edition of this remarkabel book was issued in 1876. It was rather before its time, for Spiritualism has not yet gained its subsequent popularity, and by many was still regarded as almost entirely an imposture. But the treatise was shortly found of such eminent value from the Bible point of view that by 1891 it had reached its sixth edition. It was about that year it was put into my hands, to my permanent gain as a student of the Word of God. In 1910 I read it again when in India, in contact with Parsee and Brahmin Theosophists and their books, and was much impressed with the accuracy of its treatment of those occult religions which had their rise in the Orient.

A few portions have been omitted, making room for some explanatory notes and dates, which will be found within square brackets [ ]. In addition to the fresh matter in this Preface, a chapter of Confirmatory Evidence is added, bringing the book up to date, and also, in the Appendix, a full examination of Genesis 6 supports Pember's view that the "sons of God" were angels. The Index of Subjects has been augmented and there is a new index of Persons, Places, and Books. All that Pember wrote remains in his own words, but, where suitable, footnotes have been incorporated in the text. New page headlines are given throughout, to guide the eye in tracing topics."

You may get this book at any Christian book store. You may have to order it.

I have a non-Christian friend who asked me to explain if people really lived to be hundreds of years old in Old Testament times. They also asked me how time was measured back then. They also asked me what women the sons of Adam and Eve would have procreated with ...their mother Eve....sisters...? Was incest okay in Old Testament times. They say the same could be said of Noah's grandchildren. Anyone got any answers?

As far as incest goes, it wasn't until Moses that it was considered a 'sin'. At that point, the law made incest sinful. All of those cases you brought up were before Moses.

As far as I know, time was measured the same. Some theorize that the reason they lived so long was because of a more 'pure' blood line, being so close to Abraham.

The bottom line is that you unsaved friend has a desire to discount the truth of scripture so he/she does not have to follow its demands.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
