Why don't you like me?

Someone asked me once why I didn't like them. I told them that I'm commanded to love them through Jesus, and I do indeed, but that we aren't commanded to like everyone. Actually I didn't dislike this person, they were just insecure. But to make the point...as a Christian I often get this feeling from people who aren't devoted to serving God. I bug them, they don't want to hear about Jesus, they change the subject, they get quiet, and even get up and move away from you. If you are a Christian...you aren't well liked in this day in age. I know that many don't like me because I am a Christian in addition to my calling being what it is. Someone even made an issue out of my membership number being 2999 and that the 9's are 6's upside down. That is reading just a liiiiiitttle tooooo much into spiritual warfare!!! We are to know others by their fruits of the spirit, not a membership number at a website! This person wasn't really a Christian by the way, to emphasize the whole point.

So, my overall point is that even in these last days we are going to be scoffed at, we are going to be in the unpopular group, we are going to be disliked, people are always going to find fault with us for some reason or another...this is what Jesus meant about persecution; for it comes in many ways, not just the physical.

Remember that when you feel no one likes you...you are probably doing something very right for Jesus!!!!! In that regard, consider it a compliment not to be liked!

Love through our Jesus!

I think the following verses say it best.

Joh 15:17  These things I command you, that ye love one another.

Joh 15:18  If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

Joh 15:19  If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Joh 15:20  Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

Joh 15:21  But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.

Joh 15:22  If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.

Joh 15:23  He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

God Bless

First off, we don't know for sure that these are the last days. The anabaptists thought the same thing 500 yrs ago. Being scoffed at or laughted at is no guarantee that you are "doing God's will". I think the persecution that Jesus spoke of is far more severe than being laughed at or scoffed at. Look at the people who were fed to the lions in the Roman days or the people that were tortured in horrible ways during the dark ages. Physical is PRETTY DARN BAD.

I think sometimes people are fed up with evangelists because the evangelists are full of themselves......and their "view" of things.......not necessarily full of God. Jmo.

you are partially right, but when Christ speaks ofthe persecutions he speaks of all not just hte severe or physical ones. Persecution is persecution. Some people just dislike us and persecute because we stand for God and say that all are sinners and in need of salvation. Too many people nowadays are so hung up on being self sufficient that they cannot admit they need someone other then themsleves to get by in life and in the afterlife.

These are the same people that live by the belief that ignorance is bliss, if they admit they are sinners then they have to admit they need help. Again we come back to the issue of pride in ones self.

We all need to strive not to have pride in ourselves but pride in our Creator and our saviour.

Just wanted to share and encourage...that is all. I wasn't saying physical persecution isn't bad, just that there are other forms of it. Sigh. I'm no evangelist, but we are living in the end times and God's Word and His prophecy in it are quickly coming to fruition. It is absolutely o.k. to disagree with me, but please don't put me down because of it. I'm just a sinner that loves Jesus and desires to serve Him by serving others.

Love through Jesus,

Ref,

I found this an encouraging reminder to stay true to what I believe, and to stand on the Word. I appreciate you taking the time out to share it with us.

Btw... I did think you were speaking personally about yourself! LOL!!! I was ready and at the mark to tell you what a blessing you've been to me personally and that I thank God I've come to know you a little bit better! :t:

God bless you, girl,

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
