Why Problems with Finances

Spiritual Warfare over Finance and/or other areas where there seems to be a repeat.

Just to give an account to what transpired for the Lord to give me more revelation over finances. Yesterday, June 16, 2004, I thought my car was stolen that would have made it the third time in 2 years. The good news is that it was not stolen and that I had parked it in a different place even though I did look all over the garage.

To back up a little, I had a dream a couple of nights before that I believe the Lord was trying to get my attention. This is the dream:

You do write some heavy stuff! But it makes a lot of sense.

A small question: did what you are suggesting work for you? (how did things turn out for you in the financial area)?? I tell you this: one of the biggest things I have noticed in the people in the ministry of deliverance is that they make it look like a trial and error thing (at least my experience so far), which works for some and not for others. On the other hand the deliverance ministry of Jesus was straight to the point and it had direct results! I guess that is what we expect from God; better results than all the psychics can offer!

I am not trying to be cynical, critical or anything, I only need help because I need to deal with some things in my own life and family!!

To answer your question if it was working:

Yes, I had been praying protection (putting everything under the blood of Christ - I usually pray a certain prayer every day) over everything including my finances for at least 6 months and lately been having breakthroughs in finances. It used to be when I got an extra dollar I couldn't even save any of it without something happening. It happened all the time. The issue with generational sins of the forfathers is a new revelation the Lord gave me recently. I felt the dream was a warning for me and that I had to take another step. It was a revelation from the Lord.

You make some good points. It is so true that the sins of our fathers can rest upon us. The 'sins' are learned bad habits that we just carry on in our lives, without stopping to realize that we are carrying it on. We need to break those.

Two years ago, God woke me up to the fact that we were living paycheck to paycheck and spending every dime we make. Then whining about being broke, not having the money needed for emergencies like a car breaking down, or a kid getting sick. Very irresponsible. Unfortunately, many Christians have the immature attitude that "God will take care of those 'satan attacks'" , yet do nothing to change their bad financial behavior.

Two years later, we have a substantial savings account, and a regular balance in our checking account, and are close to being debt-free. I am so thankful to God for 'smacking me upside the head' in this. It is very freeing, and easier to sleep at night without fear that tomorrow might bring a sick kid or car break down. (a fact of life, not a 'satanic attack' )

I can SO relate to you about getting 'extra' money and then, of course, something goes wrong. Grrrrr! That is God's way of telling us that he didn't promise us we'd "get ahead", lol. It's His sense of humor.

I have our finances planned three months ahead. (yeah, I'm a control freak). Well, last Saturday, I TRASHED the back passenger door on my car in my own driveway - on the decorative posts that line the corners of our drive. To the tune of $353.00 dollars! I was SO upset! There goes the plans for two new screen doors that are MUCH needed here. There's that old sense of humor again. LOL!
