  1. I am not an expert but these are things I wish I considered when buying cameras in the past, some times the lo tec advice is helpfull too, I hope Optical zoom if the camera has only a digital zoom function the pictures can be grainy The mega pixels most good cameras are between 7 and 10 mega pixels some are higher but unless you need professional quality it isn't worth the money The anti shake function, this will correct any jittery hand movements and is important if you aren't going to set up a tripod ( I need this bigtime ) The size of the camera, I upgraded my little coolpix to a D60 and it so big it is no good for candid shots and is intruisive at weddings, it is too akward and heavy Some digital cameras don't have a traditional view finder which can be off putting, the end result is easier to see on the screen but it eats up the battery When you are buying your camera you will probably need a memory card also the internal memory is usually not very high and the card is easier if you aren't printing your pictures yourself. The most important tip is about the Battery, at the very least you want a rechargeable lithium Ion battery as most cameras eat juice like there is no tommorow an integrated battery is better but you will probably need a second battery pack and it is expensive although you can get cheaper clone versions of them online for some cameras Nikon and Cannon are probably the best although I had a little pentax that served me well untill I dropped it down some steps.
  2. don't waste the bourbon:) you can use some vodka, you don't need too much just rub it in well and then rinse your hands with warm soapy water. rubbing alcohol will be better I hope you feel better soon.
  3. Try a rub or wash with alcohol in it, the neater the alcohol the better, the capsicum in the chillis is soluble in alcohol but not in water, I have done this so many times with the little globe peppers, I can literally feel your pain right now. I hope this works
  4. I was reading another topic on the hardest commandment, and for allot of people including me it is to 'love thy Neighbour' it is hard to extend that love particularly to people who hate God and Jesus as it makes you feel like you are being disloyal to Jesus when you extend the hand of friendship and you get blasphemy thrown back at you. Doesn't the bible say we shouldn't associate with atheists?
  5. I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for their advice, it was brilliant, I went to the next town over and found a minister and he told me the same as you all. I had figured out from what you all had said that I was being dumb by only giving God 2 options when I prayed. So I prayed again with an open heart this time and I realised how stupid I was. I put an ad up at work to ask if a Christian female was looking for a room in an apartment and within a day I found a lovely girl Carol from housekeeping who is a good Christian and is looking for a place to stay as her appartment is too expensive for her. Sorry for running on like this but I am so grateful to you and to Our Lord and to Carol and to Minister Michael. A big thank you again you all are in my prayers. Ellie
  6. Thank you all for your good advice, it has given me allot to think about, I hadn't thought about it being an intrusion on the married couple, I was so wrapped up in my own thing, and I think maybe I gave the impression that the 2 american girls are worse than they are, they drink some at the weekends and have allot of people round to their house at parties but they aren't really bad girls. The Polish couple don't seem to have any religion, I asked Kasia about it once and she didn't want to talk about it other than she doesn't bother with that kind of thing, she seemed upset, so I let it drop. Reading your advice and the other topic that Blien kindly suggested, I realised that maybe I wasn't able to get any guidance from prayer because I was only praying about choosing between the 2 options, I will work on it some more.
  7. Thank you for your advice but unfortunately the hotel owns my work visa, and I am not legally allowed to work anywhere else, I am only gauranteed 20 hours in the terms of my contract, usually though you can work as many hours as you want up to 60, but because the hotel is very quiet at the moment they are cutting back everyones hours, not just mine.
  8. I am living in Ireland at the moment working in a hotel chain for the summer, my hours have been cut recently because the business is very quite. My problem is that I can't afford to keep up my appartment, I don't want to bother my Mom with this as she will worry or want me to come home, and I need to finish the training program, if I want to be taken seriously. I have a solution in that I can join a house share with some other people from work, there are 2 girls here from New York and San Francisco who are sharing a house and are Christians, but they don't really act like it, they are nice and all but they sure do like to party , I am not a prude and I have had boyfriends myself but this is different, it wouldn't have an influence on me but I don't think I would be able to handle living with them all. There is a couple from Poland who are my age but have been married over a year!, they aren't Christian, but they do seem like decent people and have offered me a room in their house. They are very nice and while some of the other people at work throw their eyes up when they here my accent they never have (probably being from Poland they don't know I have an accent, I know I didn't know before I moved ) I have prayed on it but still can't come up with an answer, and I would love to get some advice on this whole matter, I know it is a very small problem, but it is something I would usually talk to my Mom about and I am not sure what I should do, maybe I should try and find another place altogether.
  9. I really thought this was illegal, how are they able to get away with it
  10. My Mom never let us watch any of these kind of tv shows because they invite evil into your house, but I don't understand how your parents could sell your soul, surely it is your gift from God that can't be taken from you, it doesn't make any sense. The whole film seems kind of dumb, I don't know why the film makers would think any persons would want to watch this.
  11. I am a little embarassed to say I still love this book, I have the copy my Grandmother gave me when I was littl with me and I can still here her voice when I read it.
